Dio - Killing the Dragon
[J.D. DIAMOND] Saturday, April 27, 2019 2:18:09 PM
A sad day in the underground world of the god damn BEST rock band ever MOLLY HATCHET lead vocalist PHIL MCCORMACK had died at the age of 58,speculation a heart attack.
I believe this is the 8th Molly Hatchet member to pass away in thier history if I'm correct. Phil was the 3rd vocalist for Molly Hatchet and was an excellent song writter. He took over for Danny Joe Brown in 1996 ... 23 years. Rest in peace Phil Molly Hatchet fans all over the world mourn today.
@vail.... or @guido.... or @acolyte..... since I'm posting from my phone and can't post a YouTube clip could one of you post the title track song "SILENT REIGN OF HEROES" for me in honor of Phi when ever you get a chance? Thanks .... R.I.P. Phil

2 albums to not listen to are 1984 "Deed Is Done" as it is simply not MH but the producers pop attempt at hair rock. Not thier sound and it's terrible like Turbo but worse. 2010's Justice album is dull material that would fit on b sides. Any other MH albums are superb.
The 5 albums most dont know exists are 1989 - Lightning Strikes Twice, 1996 - Devil's Canyon, 1998 - Silent Reign Of Heroes Kingdom of XII -2000 and Warriors Of The Rainbow Bridge - 2005 excellent .... wish they would release a new album.
Phil McCormick,Bobby Ingrim bunch of hill billies from Jacksonville drinking whisky eating sweet potato pie lol Yes thier southern rock but they are pretty much rock and roll, and if you like rock and roll Fuckin Molly Hatchet kicks ass.
R.i.P to Danny Joe Brown,Dave Hlubeck,Dwane Rolland,Banner Thomas,Jimmy Farrar,Riff West,Bruce Crump.

@Vail.... ha yeah....I figured you'd be more surprised one of my al time favorite bands is Molly Hatchet! Why haven't you heard me mention them before? Cause nobody here would probly like them, and Boby Ingrim and co. haven't released an album since 2010 the 2010's Justice album I didn' care for. I own 10 Molly Hatchet cds and one double live album.
Still waiting for a new album... and yeah 70's Scorpions kick ass??

YOU like Battle of Everbore, JD?? HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would never have thought it!!!
Cool, though. Yeah, sorry, man. Not a fan of this song. The vocals just don't do it for me. The mandolin is nice, but the two Robert Plants vocalizing against each other just throws me off. I've had a chance to listen to the album a couple of more times during the weekend, and I'm liking it more, apart from Evermore. I can understand how you might not listen to the other songs anymore, though. After all, they only play Stairway to Heaven everyday on the radio. Prolly every hour. Heh.
70s Scorps? I think I'm only missing two albums from that era - In Trance and Virgin Killer. Cannot WAIT to get my hands on those.
@vail.... WOW! I have heard Zep for nearly 40 years and because of how many times I've heard Zep just out there I've heard too many times I can't listen to them any more. At all. But make no mistake about it I do love the band etc...
Zep 4 sticks album is FLAWLESS and hands down the best album by the band by FAR lol
Battle Of Evermore is my all time favorite Led Zeppelin track of all time lol. It's mystical mysterious and visions of Lord of the Rings along with tales of Avalon this is the only track I can still listen to once a blue moon. All good though Vail we can't all like the same things. But check out EVERYTHING in the 70's by the Scorpions,it rules 👍🤘

At another vendor's site it's listed as "Deluxe Hardcover Edition", so very likely the "Deluxe" version of Europe and "Hardcover" version of the US are the same. I'll likely do a review of it once I get it, so there'll definitely be photos then!
Also couldn't get TS's Club Daze Vol. 1 from the record store after all, they sent me an email saying that it had been removed from their wholesaler's inventory. So I'm getting Rainbow's Rising instead, it was the exact same price (they asked if I either wanted to replace the missing item with another, get a voucher or a full refund, so I picked the first option). Then I went to Amazon and got both Club Daze Volumes 1 and 2 for a mere 14 euros. Vol. 1 was laughably cheap, less than three GBP.
Fine call on the Maiden, Nupe. From start to finish. EXACTLY where I finished...although I honestly bought more, I don't really listen to Fear. That was the stopping point for me.
Just was gonna write that my latest was to compare what Nupe called the "Deluxe CD" and the US site calls the "Hardcover CD." They APPEAR to be one and the same but who knows as the US gives absolutely NO info about it. Wouldn't have even known to look had it not been for Nupe's post. Lots more stuff on the US site which I would have missed entirely so thanks for that, folks.
Sadly, I missed the autographed red / orange / black swirled autographed LPs so grabbed the clear / black autographed ones. Also just bought the hardcover CD. Was gonna get the "Deluxe CD" from overseas as it is pretty close in price and it IS often different but, what the heck, eh? Got the Nostradamus LP package well after the album came out waiting for shipment so why not do the same this time around, right? Like to match up photos / descriptions with you when they arrive, Nupe. Let's see if they are, in fact, identical. I'd be curious.
Now, about those two Glenn SG guitars that are left..hmmmm.

Just preordered Firepower from my local record store. I picked the "deluxe" CD version, which was two euros more expensive although the tracklist seems to be the same. Perhaps the packaging is a bit nicer.
Also went to the used CDs section and found the somewhat rare two-disc (CD + DVD) version of Angel of Retribution - I've been meaning to get it for a long time to supplement my standard single CD edition and finish my collection of all officially released live material. For just 12€ I think it was a bargain, especially as it counted towards my regular customer points.
To round up the order to a number which gave me a few stamps to my customer card, I also got Rainbow's debut album, Twisted Sister's Club Daze Vol. 1 and Uriah Heep's Look at Yourself (2 CD deluxe version).
---------------
Since my previous update in this thread I ordered quite a number of CDs during last spring as the record store had a number of good deals going. In order of artist, not date of purchase:
Diamond Head: Lightning to the Nations (2 CD deluxe)
Dio: The Last In Line and Sacred Heart (both 2 CD deluxe)
Iron Maiden: all studio albums from the self-titled debut to Fear of the Dark, plus Live After Death (all standard CDs)
W.A.S.P.: first four studio albums (all deluxe versions)
Yup, finally decided to break my semi-boycott of Maiden and got all the classics in one huge order (they were on a 50% discount after all).

As Acolyte- I read it as regular CD "jewel case" and the deluxe that I have only found in the bundle so far, was like the AOR and ROS deluxe cardboard with 24 page booklet etc.
