which is your favourite KK and Glen solo or twinsolo?

What's up DPK!!!  Miss you being around, bud!!!

Painkiller has a great solo, but I have to tilt towards Beyond the Realms as probably my fav, but it's really close.  Prob. bcause it is still great 30+ years after it was recorded!!!  Live Sinner by KK makes it a 3-way tie for the most part for me!!!

I don't think one has to be technically proficient to create a great solo as they need to also be one with their guitar.  Ex: Jimi Hendrix.
That being said, my fav JP solo is from Painkiller.  Everything about that song just blows me right off my seat when I hear it.

I absolutley LOVE the first solo in Beyond The Realms Of Death. i believe its Glenn Tipton and its truly an amazing solo. It proves that you dont have to completely shred to make an awesome solo. \m/

You said it Ron! Those were 10 mins of air guitaring frenzy from the best duo there ever was in Heavy Metal History.
[ron h] Saturday, June 27, 2009 6:01:05 AM
Even though this is a versus video, I don't look it as that...I look at this video as 10 minutes of some of the greatest guitar work ever recorded...they compliment each other so well...I don't think they would be who they are without each other

Said b4 - i dont rate either of JP guitarists that highly - the harmonics on Hot Rockin' are sure tricky....and b4 anyone goes ballistic - they are good in that framework, but there are far better players out there...just listen to the new Vinnie Moore CD for example...

This one would fit more into the "metal instrumental" thread that we used to have, but since I couldnt find it, Im putting it here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QS0Mfbk7vU0

"In Memoriam"... From Hammerfall. My favourite metal instrumental. Not some amazing 1000 km/h shred, but it just has... IDK what. It just is great. No doubt, Hammerfall are the no.1 post 80s band.

By Priest:

Either on Beyond the Realms of Death, Dreamer Deceiver, or Ram it Down (solo that crazy, fast as hell soloing!)

Beyond the Realms of Priest:

Running Wild's "Conquistadores" or "Uatsmitchun" (or something similar, can never spell the damn song)

Lords of the Crimson Alliance "Sorcerer"

And then anything Blackmore, Iommi or Gilmour will make my spine shiver!
[marmie] Sunday, March 22, 2009 12:22:40 AM
Screaming For Vengeance!
Energetic,original,creative guitar solo...It's really cool!
