Its not going to be like Angel Of Retribution Hellrider but it won't be as strong as Painkiller because Ian already mentioned that they are continuing where they left off with Angel Of Retribution (not the sound of the album but the direction of Angel Of Retribution) and he also said there is heavy stuff, melodic stuff and a mix of everything Priest is about so that really rules out a disc with every single song as heavy as the Painkiller title track.
I hate to say it but I think if this happens you may be in for a let down here,I hope you'll find something decent about the LP when it comes out. I think I have more of a chance of a masterpiece because of my likings for the Retribution album.
I know you'll roar back with defending the faith ect...but Ian's words pretty much sums up the next album's direction, however there will still be a few heavy ass tracks on it,but you may not like them since you didn't like Judas Rising,Wheels Of Fire or even Demonizer which is much heavier than Hellrider. Just reading into what Ian has said about the upcoming LP.....

BUT IT WONT BE THEY ARE GOING TO PUSH THE METAL FORWARD
A SOUND AND CARACTER OF ITS OWN
FULL ON AND IN OUR FACE.
JUDAS PRIEST
MASTERS OF METAL
CONTINUING THE LEGACY
BACK AND WITH A VENGEANCE LIKE NEVER BEFORE
FULL ON AND IN YOUR FACE
Thats fine. But it WILL NOT be as heavy and as threatening as the Painkiller album. It may turn out like 'Screaming For Vengeance too" which in that case your screwed lol!
