"Leather Rebel" and "Between the Hammer and the Anvil" are high quality metal tracks and that style would be fine on the next cd.
Better than Wheels of Fire and Demonizer.

I don't know hellrider, you tell me. LOL! I figured if they even wrote a track like "Leather Rebel" or "Betweeen The Hammer & The Anvil" you'd be disappointed because those tracks are NOT barn burnning scorchers. To me,they can write material with it's own personality but in the vien of the song Painkiller to tracks like "Wheels Of Fire" and "Demonizer" ,as long as the album is excellent.

how would writing a track like BETWEEN THE HAMMER AND THE ANVIL OR LEATHER REBEL be a disapointment.they are not slow boring songs .THEY ARE POWERFULL THEY ARE JUST NOT QUITE AS INTENSE. AND THEY DO NOT TAKE THE ALBUM FROM 1 EXTREME TO THE OTHER  [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by J.D. DIAMOND from Tuesday, September 21, 2010 1:23:54 PM)

Yes that would be awsome, theres no doubt about it. But I think by those who are only going to accept an entire album with scorcher tracks they are setting themselves up for a huge disappointment especially if the band writes a track like "Leather Rebel" or "Between The Hammer And The Anvil"....not a copy of those songs, but in the vien/pattern of these tracks....and if those tracks are top notch quality Judas Priest songs, they will get thrown in the garbage by those who want an album's worth of scorchers, something that Judas Priest has NEVER done in thier almost 40 year career.

Thats a bit much to ask these 60 year old men to do,not saying it would be a hell of an album, but Judas Priest are simply not going to touch ground with "death metal" and who knows the odds of an album coming out with all 10 songs on it like the Painkiller/All Guns Blazing/Metal Meltdown tracks? I guess this band can't please everyone. I just know that I'll be pleased with a classic british heavy metal album with quality tracks. Those who don't like it,don't buy it.

Just think welding helmet. Ha!

Why not just have it dark and heavy like The Sentinel or Jawbreaker, a smattering of "Painkiller" power to speed up the action and have a just plain rockin tune or two like Hellbent for Leather or Running Wild?I think that would be epic!!!   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by J.D. You want another "Nostradamus" type of an album metallo?  And hellrider wants "death metal" from our "Judas Priest"?? LOL! Now hellrider, you are definately smoking my weed!!!! lol! No no no no fuckin NOOOOO!!!! Judas Priest would look and sound utterly "ridiculous" if they were to dabble into "death metal"...it would be "fake" and "not them" to say the least hellrider, this is pushing it "too far".

Even on the Jugulator "song" I've said it before,it sounds cheesey when Ripper sings "Mutilate"...ect...it just sounds un-Priest-like. If you crave the heaviest Judas Priest album of all time, why not just wish for all 10 songs on the album to be in it's own style of course, but have all 10 tracks as fast and as heavy as the songs "Painkiller,All Guns Blazing and Metal Meltdown"?? All 10 songs, one right after another.

Lets skip the death metal influences, that would totally "suck" hellrider,I do understand what you are looking for,but come on...lets hope they put out heavy british metal like the Painkiller album,if they went into death metal,or even 1 touch of death metal on the album it would riun it.At age 60,the band doesn't need to experiment with "death metal" or any other kind of metal for that matter, lets just hope the new album will be heavy all the way through.

No Death Metal (please not), no Pankiller, nor British Steel or something else. Only the new Priest Album which, as usual, will give us a lot of emotions. I expect always the best. Sometime they failed (Point of entry, Turbo) also if something good can be found also in these albums, but at last every new album was something great. Fort his reason I only expect to listen another great Opera form the Master of Metal.

lol! Well, lets hope they don't go outside of the "Painkiller" album in heaviness and strength,if they did thrash or death/black it just wouldn't be them. But I know what your really talking about hellrider. How about an entire album...all 10 songs not a copy of Painkliller, but all 10 songs  with thier own new Judas Priest style as heavy and as strong as the songs : "Painkiller,All Guns Blazing and Metal Meltdown"??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So an entire album of tracks like this with everything the world of Judas Priest has to offer!!! And if the songs were of course memerable with excellent quality ect..... that would be the shit hellrider!!!!!! History has shown that they really come back strong after an experimental album so this LP will be thier heaviest, your right....they wouldn't want to do anything in the vien of British Steel,Screaming,Defenders or Angel Of Retribution....they would want to go full throttle with the heaviest LP they ever have done matching Painkiller with more heavy songs on it....this makes sense....and if so,we are all going to get our butts kicked with this nes album hellrider!!!! lol!

lol! Oh I don't want it to sound "exactly" like Screaming For Vengeance or anything,I just meant  something very "Judas Priest". I don't want them to cross over into "thrash" or death metal, because then it just wouldn't be Judas Priest. I still think they went to far on Jugulator the "song"  where Ripper sings "Mutilate"...ect....it just sounds like they are trying to be something they are not,it sounded to "thrash" like "Fight" or what not. I like my Judas Priest pure heavy metal but yes I wouldn't mind if it was as strong as the Painkiller album but with a new flavor, something that can stand next to Painkiller in strength...yeah that would be cool hellrider.

I hate the "Living Bad Dreams" song,I'm glad they never put it out on a studio album. Although Rob said once that he wished they would of put it on Painkiller,I'm sure glad they didn't.The song may be enjoyed by others though, but I can't stand to listen to it. "Angel" is much softer yet I like Angel better but ya know.....

Just got back from a long road trip so I had time to listen to a lot cd's while on the road. One of them was the bad boy Painkiller cd and I have to say that it is one excellent metal cd. From start to finish there's not a bad track on it except for that bonus track "Living Bad Dreams". Ouch! But thats usually how bonus these tracks turn out. I still say this is the direction they need to take on the new album.

Heres what I would like to hear somewhere in the new album, not another Revolution song no,but listen right at the 2:32 to the 3:00 minute mark when the drums stop and the guitars are plucking without distortion....it totally reeks of the Sad Wings Of Destiny album big time, they should throw more guitar parts like this into the mix of the new album, that would be cool.
[J.D. DIAMOND] Saturday, September 11, 2010 1:37:49 PM
You know if this next album "isn't" like Painkiller I don't know if I should laugh my ass off or feel sory for you hellrider? lol!!!! Lets hope that its a killer british heavy metal album, you only have one hope "Painkiller" but for many of us we would be happy if it turned out like:

Sad Wings Of Destiny
Sin After Sin
Stained Class
Hell Bent For Leather
British Steel
Screaming For Vengeance
Defenders Of The Faith
Painkiller
Angel Of Retribution

If its a mix between these albums but with quality songs,I'll be thrilled. I'd actually like to hear the album turn out like the sound of "Demonizer" from Angel Of Retribution mixed with the primative sound of the Hell Bent For Leather album mixed with the sharp sound of The Hellion/Electric Eye without the Painkiller signature sound,If the Painkiller sound is absent, not a problem for me in the least. There is more to Judas Priest than one album, but thats just my opinion hellrider,I'm suprised you actually own more CDs from Judas Priest than Painkiller,I would of never gussed it.HAHA!  Not to worry,I fully understand your passion for that one album.
