Yeah Joacim Canns's voice is the BEST vocalist next to Rob Halford. His vocals are even better than old Bruce Dickinson. Just 100% supurb.

Glory To The Brave
Legacy Of Kings
Renegade
Crimson Thunder
Chapter V: Unbent,Unbowed,Unbroken
Threshold
No Sacrifice,No Victory
(r)Evolution

8 studio albums should be in every heavy metal fan's
collection. They are mentioned in Power Metal alot, but
really they just are traditional British heavy metal style
with definately thier own style.

Yeah thier new album Built To Last I'm just not a fan of
but they'll be back in a few years with a masterpiece I'm sure.

Crimson Thunder I think is thier best record.

@acolytee55... Yes Im a huge Hammerfall fan! I got into them in 2011,and to me they are the 3rd best heavy metal band well,at least in this era...Judas Priest,Saxon and Hammerfall to me are the top of the crop . I do not like thier new album Built To Last though,or 2011 Infected. But all other HF albums fucking rule! Legacy Of Kings is excellent!

As for Brent of Mastodon? Eh, weenie. Naive and ungrateful weenie, especially since he and the band got to open for the Metal Gods on the ROS tour!!

Don't recall having EVER seen anyone proudly displaying a Mastodon shirt or anything else for that matter. Diss the Metal Gods but say that he grew up listening to them. Hmmm...he gonna join Tate in the "I hate metal" club? Well, he can have my ticket.

And yes I just read too on blabbermouth that Priest have Tom Allom & Andy Sneap to produce this next album!!! Holy fuck Andy Sneap just produced Saxon's Battering Ram and the sound is amazing, just perfect. I have a funny feeling this new album is gonna top Redeemer Of Souls. I really do...Im stoked!!!

Does anyone remember James Durbin? The guy who sang Judas Priest on American Idol in 2011 which led to the first public appearance of Richie Faulkner as a member of Priest?

Well, he was just recently signed as the lead singer of Quiet Riot (yeah they're still going, led by drummer Frankie Banali).

Right you are. Looked it up myself. Same as "Battle Cry" has co-credits on it. "Angel of Retribution" as well with Roy Z and co. taken from Halford's solo days. Really, Tom Allom was the only constant throughout the career there in terms of production and mixing without Glenn who, I am sure, was always there along with others in the band whether credited or not. As for arguments? While good to have facts and ammo to back them up, I have honestly never heard any! Can't remember reading any for that matter. Just like when Rob goes on record to defend himself against supposed attacks on Blabbermouth or Richie for having done American Idol? Hell, missed people bitching about those too!

Maybe I am reading the wrong news. Perhaps the Bieber website fans need to be a little more diverse in their musical tastes and criticisms. I'll tell them the next time I stop by! :)

@guido... Well my cd at least is just the 13 tracks original album bought it same day released only has one place in the booklet where it says produced & mixed by Mike Exeter & Glenn Tipton. Recorded and mixed in the UK. Mastered by Dick Beetham at 360 Mastering.

Yet GLENN is shit on. I like the RAW aspect of the ROS album. It still would be just as cool with a better production, but doesn't need it. It makes Redeemer Of Souls stand out on its own atmosphere.

So Mike Exeter produced & mixed the Redeemer Of Souls album equally with Glenn as far as what it says. Dick Beetham mastered the entire album himself at 360 Mastering.

As far as we know it's between the 3 of them. That must mean that approx. there is a 33.3% chance Glenn is at fault with the production final sound, and approx a 66.6% chance Glenn is not responsible for the final sound yet he has been blamed!!

guido...for the last 2 1/2 years I've wondered this. 66.6% chance Glenn is not at fault....something you can throw at someone who just blames him 100% his fault.

You also know I have never had a problem with the production of ROS. Didn't know that bit about Exeter so that is news to me, can't say that I am a huge fan of Tipton being producer as I really do think that a good deal of that "critical ear" was lost in having him take over that responsability as well but, heck, James Guthrie did "Stained Class" which was a breakthrough for Priest back in the day when nobody really CARED who produced the album. Only reason I know it is because of the famous "subliminal messages" trial with the backmasking and all. Hell, HIS big claim to fame as a producer was with Pink Floyd and Roger Waters!

Tom Allom should get the nod as the true "producer" of Priest albums if anyone should as he was there from Pre-Steel (Unleashed) to "Touch of Evil Live" if I am not mistaken. Last wins them the (bahhhhahahaaaa..."coveted") Grammy.

I didn't even notice ROS which, for me, is good enough! I DID notice that Nostra was too long. Overall? I still liked it. However, perhaps that is where a critical ear could have said "cut it down!" In the end, though, that is what the skip button and equalizers are made for if someone doesn't like a mix, IMO. In today's day and age? Just redo it! Heck, if someone can take Jar Jar out of a Star Wars movie, it is a FAR easier task to remix and reburn a CD. Me? I am leaving mine just the way they are with the new info about Exeter now for my own info.

You know.....@ guido,acolytee55,Vail...credits on the Redeemer Of Souls says the album was produced by MIKE EXETER & Glenn Tipton.

I think ROS production isnt as bad as many make it out to be.

Yet I have NEVER read 1 fucking bad word about Mike Exeter ?

It's all bitching about how Glenn should stay away from the production, blah blah blah...

How do they know it was GLENN who is ultimately responsible for the final sound? How do they it's not Mike Exeter who is the real reason behind the under par production?

They simply DON'T. They do not. I remember reading recently an article on Blabbermouth about Metallica's 1988 AJFA album and how for YEARS people complaining about the lack of the BASS sound on the album which was Jason Newsteads debut and blaming it on the producer (I cant remember his name off hand) but the producer said he got bashed for years for this... He said it WASN'T HIM who made the bass so non existant,it was LARS who demanded the bass be so low even though the producer thought he was crazy.

The producer said recently that this subject came up and Lars asked him why the bass was so low barely non existent, and he told Lars it was HIM lol

So for all we know it could have been Mike Exeter for the over all production sound,I mean sure it could be Glenn too,but we have to take consideration that Mike Exetor could be at fault, yet not one fucking comment about the production has his name mentioned? Not fair.

[J.D. DIAMOND] Thursday, February 16, 2017 4:08:40 AM
@acolytee55 ... I know it's frustrating to wait so long for studio albums, especially when we lost Rob from 1992-2004 if I'm correct, and with K.K. retireing ....its obvious that K.K. has lost his PASSION for regular traditional heavy metal, that's why Nostadamous was so experimental and EXTRA progressive so stray away from the norm...I get that, but I think they went TOO far,as alot of fans also thought.

However, still to some Nostadamous is a masterpiece,to each his own ya know. But I think right after it's release in July 2008,it wasn't getting positive reviews...enough that I believe is why the tour was cut off short, instead opting for a 30th anniversary of the British Steel album which they milked from early 2009 I think till late 2010? Can't remember exactly, but you know what I'm getting at.

But we lost TIME from 2010 which normally would of been a folllow up album till 2014 when ROS was finally released. Like guido said, I too agree that at this point I'd rather have an album more than a tour. Maybe that way we can get 2 more albums from them,if they only do a few shows/tour that only lasts for 4 months then back into the studio to finish one more master piece.

Oh,and @Budred... I hear ya man,I hope it's not like Nostradamous either,or TOO progressive. I thought that ROS was a great example of classic Judas Priest, and it's own style...at least to me. But I cant imagine at this point they will go too far experimental ect.. Im thinkin maybe A LITTLE. But hopefully it will FIT perfectly, lets cross our fingers.

And acolytee55... unfortunately I think the reality is we'll get an album title, song titles and a track to listen to by Thanksgiving and then the new album January 2018. The next one based off thier time schedule should arive in 2022 lol Unless they have other plans.

Rob said in an article that he's not sure how they managed to put out an album every 2 years back in the 80's.. lol

[Budred] Thursday, February 16, 2017 2:39:56 AM
JD. My favorite thing about Priest over all these years has been the constant change in music. I'm not like some people. I do not crave another Painkiller or British Steel or anything like that. My hope is that we get something that when you hear it you know it's Priest but it doesn't sound like anything they've done before. Just please, please, and please 100 more times don't let it be like Nostradamus. ... I finally received my Turbo 30 cd. I bought it for the live disc and to throw some support towards JP. Gotta say I freakin' love it. It sounds so much better than Priest Live. Love the rawness to it and it doesn't seem as synthesized and the tempo doesn't feel slowed like PL. I'm not really a fan of the "Live" album but this is fantastic. Glad I bought it and I'm loving the art work.

Richie in his 40s! Yikes!

Man, I don't want to wait until TOMORROW! Still, wait for another tour or another album? While an extremely tough call, I'd have to say album. Back catalog? Yes. We all know they have it. Epitaph! We all wanted it. Did get a few gems and wanted more for the TRUE "Faithful." Just a "one-off" show! Yes, too much to ask, I know. Still, one can dream.

[J.D. DIAMOND] Friday, February 10, 2017 8:58:25 PM
Absolutely Ritchie is the best guitarist of this era 2011 -onwards....He is not a K.K. Clone...his different style and sound speaks for itself.

It was Jane Andrews idea to dress Faulkner like K.K. with the vest and flying V.....its like I said before the same idea as dressing Tommy Thayer in Ace's makeup...like K.K. said from a distance it appears nothing has changed..

They should of dressed Ritchie in what he first appeared in his leathers were not a vest and his guitar was not a flying V...it looked un-K.K. like. Jane probably figured it would be more profitable $ if she made Ritchie look like K.K. THAT is the ONLY thing I think is lame, just that issue. Other than that, everything is supurb.

@Budred... As far as this new direction the new album is headed as I read what you did on Blabbermouth...I dont think they will go "TOO FAR" off the deep end as they did with Turbo,Demolition and Nostradamous. On the other hand they will NOT make another ROS part 2 as they have said.

Its a mystery as to what we're gonna get. Im sure it'll be something us cult followers will like, let's hope at least. Redeemer Of Souls was thier most stripped down and Raw LP,so Im thinkin this new one will have much better production, and progressive elements throughout without going off the deep end like I mentioned above.

It's a Priest album so of course it's going to take on 100% criticism the first month it's released before the dust settles. Like acolytee55 mentioned, the band is at cult status at this point, anyone outside our likings for the band will DEMAND another British Steel,Screaming For Vengeance,Defenders Of The Faith or Painkiller or BUST ...if not they wont listen to it let alone BUY the new album. How are Priest going to top those albums?

They Can't. Impossible. But to us they don't NEED to,and they don't have to. We all like Sin After Sin even though it's not as good as Painkiller. Ect,ect.....
So no matter what they put out,it's already waiting for criticism. Negative criticism. And most likely unjust criticism.

Those kind of Priest fans are like fair weather football fans. Thier not real Priest fans, nor are those who are ultra fan boys...just like it all,its all good if its Judas Priest blah blah. Totally lame.

This new album will be released next year 2018 early. I just dont see how they plan on making another one after this, especially since right when ROS was released in 2014 they said they cant afford to wait another 3 or 4 years for Redeemer's follow up,yet here we are with the new album due approx 4 years after ROS.

Which theoretically means the album after this new one will be due 2022!'

No way this band is onstage playing a new album's material in 2022. Right?

I agree @guido @JD , no one can ever copy KK , no one can ever match his solo on VOC or many other staple Priest classics ,truly amazing and glad I got to see him work , I don't want Richie to be like KK , I want Richie to be himself , I think he cemented himself in Priest on the YGATC solo from the Battle Cry DVD , which I believe is superb, The thing that impressed me the most (I believe I posted it before?) is . Rob proving his MG status to me when he worked that crowd of younger and heavier listening crowd until he won them over and pretty soon it was a giant Karaoke party with everyone belting out the songs ,Impressive to say the least !!!!
[Budred] Thursday, February 09, 2017 2:21:12 AM
Well Val, I was going to respond and clicked the wrong icon and just reported your comment as offensive. Sorry. I would have bought Battle Cry on DVD but I was afraid to after buying the Epitaph dvd. The editing is too much for me. Too quick to jump from scene to scene. It bothers me trying to watch it. Maybe I'll watch a few videos first and see if it's any better.

Writing "Turbo" in Marbella, Spain! Funny as I listened to it there. Beautiful. loudwire.com/rob-halford-loves-judas-priest-more-ever-reflects-30th-anniversary-turbo/
LOVED "Battle Cry," the DVD and can't wait for my copy of "Turbo" 30 to arrive (due in 2 damn days...grrrr). Looking more for the concert that is on the bonus than anything else there. As for the new recording? Who the heck could NOT be excited about Richie on a new Priest album? I loved ROS! Loved him on the past tours. What he has been able to bring to an "established" band without distorting it or alienating it to the hardcore fans has been nothing short of phenomenal. Just an amazing fit. Glenn has said it, Rob has said it. I think anyone who has seen him play has said it! No, he is NOT K.K. He isn't trying to be and I don't expect him to be. He is simply one talented MO FO who has fit into the band in an almost uncanny and seamless manner. Rob mentions that he knows that "the clock is ticking" and we all realize that as well. However, when both he and Glenn say that we should expect great things from the new recording? HOLY CRAP!! Can't wait!

But it ain't THAAAAAAAAT Bad,not as bad as people make it out to be that is for sure, they missed the brilliance in the simplicity of the album and it's songs. Oh, my fav was "the Oprah of the metal world!" LOL!!!

To me, not like watching paint dry, though. More like fingernails scratching a chalkboard now! Amazing how I just can't stand to listen to them. On the flipside, I have a buddy who just the other day mentioned Billy Sheehan whereupon, like a good Priest fan, I mention Tipton and his solo album work. Buddy was amazed. He had always liked Priest and, as a guitarist, appreciated the fact that Priest is just at another level musically but then I bring up the whole second Tipton (Entwhistle / Powell) recording and pass both to him. LOVED them and, subsequently, he goes back to Priest. So here we have a guy who normally listens to classical music who is amazed at the skill-level of the almighty Priest? But of course!! Think I could bring the latest recording of Maiden along and have him hear how the "fugues" depart and converge just like a Vivaldi composition? HELL NO! My exact point to him!! Maiden songs of today? The damn FUGUES just run for 13 minutes and change tempos so often that you either get so bored or lose track that they cease becoming a "fugue" by definition! It is all but maddening!!

100% agree that the fanboy ballwashers can HAVE their Maiden of today. I, too, revel in that cult of Priest. Wearing a Priest shirt in a public place such as an airport? Without question, a conversation starter on many an occasion and that conversation has always been a positive one.

I totally agree JD , IM sucked when I seen them last April, bad sound , really bad set list , first 5 songs topped out at over 30 minutes , like watching paint dry , Dickinson just yells into the mike now , and people eat it up , That album BOS was absolute drivel , but not a bad word was really said about it , IM is like the Oprah of the metal world , no one will speak ill of them , meanwhile Priest puts out an absolute masterpiece compared to IM's overlong Prog-rock penis sucking session ,and gets crappy reviews . I enjoy the almost cult status Priest has , I seen them in a 1,000 seat venue and they absolutely rocked it , they were interactive and looked to be enjoying themselves completely, they are our secret and if I don't have to share them with 48,000 other people ........ Good! , let others be sheep and oblivious to the crap they are eating up , they are a bunch of fan boy ball washers , Until Dickinson can sing again ...... Make mine Priest!!!!

Although after almost three years now I actually think there are more positive opinions than negative...maybe 60% to 40% of fans like the album,at least thats the way it seems.

I don't know why Priest gets beat up the most with the critics and fans every time they release an album, its been this way since I've been into the band.

While Maiden puts out B SIDE MATERIAL (at best) with every release starting with Somewhere in Time -31 years ago and no matter what they put out,its all great reviews,I just don't get it lol.

Watch this new Judas album top Redeemer Of Souls! I believe they CAN. This band IS truely amazing.
