Morning!!

I spoke to my mom on the phone this morning. She still sounds pretty weak but she will be ok. She just needs to stay put, listen to her doctor and stop fecking smoking!

She scared the shit out of me so now that the threat of losing her is going, I'm pretty angry. She chain smokes and that is why she got the lung infection in the first place. I just know that in a few days, she'll be feeling better and she'll light up again. Even though she promises me she wont.

I'm just grateful that for now, her life does not seem to be at risk anymore.

Thank you so much for your well wishes, they certainly help in times like these xxx

Thank you friends,

My mom is pretty ill and I have no idea what is happening. I'm pretty stressed and everyone keeps telling me to stay put and not rush up there but I feel totally helpless and confused. I just hope she's going to be ok.
I only have one parent left and I don't handle things like this very well.

I hate that nobody will tell me what is really wrong.

Will do, Joe. Sending good wishes your way.

I got a very disturbing call from my step father and now all I can do is sit and wait. I don't know what's happening, I don't know what to do and I have a splitting headache that is going nowhere.

I hate not knowing and I hate feeling totally afraid and helpless.
If anyone believes in prayer, I sure could use some right now.

Dude, I was in Detroit! Ford city at the time. Not only did I drive to the dealerships but the freakin' factory!

Down the FORD expressway, mind you! LOL!!! Yeah, I CAN blame them.

All this talk about bulbs reminded me I need to change a tail light that can't seem to make up it's mind whether it's burnt out or still has some life left in it - lol  Think I'll go ahead and change both.  Fortunately, all I have to dismantle are the tail light covers nowhere near being attached to the fender!  Thank the Jeep engineers ... simple minds think alike - lol  That's why I love the old Jeeps ... not a lot of components and easy to fix!  ; )

modern cars are put together with no regard for repair later, much less customization.  the first Magnum we had on fleet a bird hit the headlight.  had to remove the bumper and fender to install new light.  5 hour job.  The good news is the worst new cars are still way more reliable than the best from the 80's (or older).  still, the old cars were easy to work on compared to now.  supose thats good cause you had too.

That sounds QUITE familiar! I distinctly remember driving around to more than a dozen auto part stores IN DETROIT looking for a damn lightbulb when the overhead one went out in my freakin' Mustang! BASTARDS!! Took ages to find a freakin' 50cent bulb because of its odd shape and size. Finally found it in some hole-in-the-wall place that looked like it hadn't had a customer in twenty years. Old guy who went back for it looked like the Cryptkeeper!

Needless to say, I bought three that day never to have such a worry ever again. Blasted Fix Or Repair Daily engineer!

Ya know I once had a Dodge Colt with a Mitubithsee ( or something like that) motor. All I wanted to do was install a stereo in it! No way to do it without cutting the dash, and I didn't want to do that. So I had it mounted underdash, but I digress.
I'm convinced the design department started with this one piece of equipment, "We build cheep car with AM Radio in dash! We build car around AM radio! NOBODY EVER Going to remove crappy AM Radio! LOL

You know what was really pissing me off last night? Having to fix my OWN damn office computer that I built. Sux having to drag this laptop everywhere I go, so I made my own rig a bit ago just to leave in my office. Easy problem to troubleshoot (hell, I do it all day long) and it turns out to be the power supply causing Windows go crap out on me. No prob., got a bigger and better one than the stock one that came with the cheapo case I bought at home so just swap them out, right? DAMN! Some friggin' GENIOUS made that devilish case in such a manner that I had to take out all the drives (two HDs, CD and second DVD/RW and floppy) and almost the motherboard to get that original piece o crap out of there!

Phew, ok. Got that out of my system. 9pm and just coming back from lugging a now working machine back to the office. Still, I'd like to throttle the guy who designed that beautiful toolless Antec case. Ex-Ford engineer, to be sure.
