A big HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all as well from me.

Taking a bit of a breather between my massive Mexican spread (tradition around my house). Frijoles done, pico de gallo done, tamales done, Lions losing in a big way. Yup! All on track save for the marathon making of the enchiladas which are the final item on the list. So, to all who celebrate, cheers. To all that don't? Have a drink and hug a mexican! LOL!!!!

"Happy Thanksgiving" to our metal friends south of the border...  and "Happy Belated Thanksgiving" to fellow Canuck metal-heads.  (Sorry I missed it.)

Thankful for you all.

I join the rest of you in wishing my "Metal Family" the very best Thanksgiving Day.  Over the past few months, there have been many events and changes in my life. I am thankful that I have been able to share so many of them with you. Here's to another year of reasons to be thankful. All my best! See you soon!

HA!!!!

Actually, you guys up north are 6 weeks early.  Naturally, my Turkey Day isn't starting until I leave work at noon today.

Not stupid at all! I would be glad to enlighten you!

The basic history of the American Thanksgiving dates back to the 1600's when pilgrims (English Seperatists) settled in Plymouth. They faced severe hardships the first year. Lost about half the population, I believe. Anyway, the second year they were here was a good one. They decided to celebrate with a big feast and invited the Native Indians that had helped them out. It lasted a few days...more like the old English Harvest festival.

In the late 1700's, Washington declared a national day of Thanksgiving but ran into a bunch of grief from the citizenry. I think Jefferson opposed the whole thing. Anyway, I believe Lincoln approved the last Thursday in November as Thanksgiving. There you have it.

I know this must sound very stupid, but I've never found out what thanksgiving celebrates as we don't have it over here, could someone enlighten me?

So sorry I was not able to spend much time with you all yesterday. It appears my daughter and grandsons are quite prolific in the ways of the computer and have been without one for several months! I fear my time will be rather limited for the next couple days! Just in case I am not able to say this tomorrow;

A Most Glorious Thanksgiving to all!!
