You won't see me in a high end fashion store either but it's nice to know what's out there in case I win the lottery. :D
I agree with you all the way though it's nice to see some off the wall people (clothing) away from the confined area of a stage.

How's the guitar lessons coming?

[Budred] Wednesday, March 07, 2012 5:27:01 AM
You'll never see me in a high end fashion store.
I'm a poorboy from the midwest. (LOL)
Also, I wasn't saying it didn't cause fashion or become a lifestyle for some, I'm just saying
for Priest it was a created stage persona just like the majority of bands out there including MRH.
Not many go onstage as themselves.

I've had moments of wishing to see some suffering faces but that has nothing to do with any of my posts about MRH.
There are threads dedicated to other bands here so I have no qualms discussing them. I don't think that they are the
best band out there and I make efforts to not compare them to Priest. For me it works. I like the theatrical part of their
show and I love all the changes in their music. Slow, heavy, melodic, hardcore, clean vocals, growls, screams, etc., etc..
I like them having two singers. To me they are somewhat unique and I like about 90 percent of their catalog. Because
I live so close to where they're from I can see them basically as often as I want and I dig that part of it also. There are no
other bands that I like this much that I have so much access to so hence the posts. It's that simple. No malice intended.

Ghost - "Ritual" live 2011.

Fuckin excellent, finally a band with a satanic black arts theme that doesn't look or sound like the shit current 3rd wave(2000 - 2012) black metal scene. What a breath of fresh air, however this band should be dismissed by most metal fans and perhaps rightfully so,but those who can see into this art and some who like Mercyful Fate's Don't Break The Oath possibly may enjoy this album. Other than that, fans of 70's rock may find this appealing.

I get the point though Budred. Youtube vids are not to be taken as quality sound as you know, but yeah I got the point. A show like this could be fun to watch even if your not into metal or extreme music at all.

That's true but now it has become a lifestyle to dress with the studs. If you check the high end fashion stores you'll see plenty of Valentino, Louboutin, Alexander Macqueen, Westwood, etc who put leather and skulls in every item they design. Westwood herself was one of the people who along with the Sex Pistols helped bring the punk look to the fore, all stemming from the underground scene, from which Rob Halford also took the idea. In the section for kids clothes you see metal studs and gothic lettering.

I think Budred enjoys putting Mushroomhead on this site.IMO he can imagine some members'  suffering faces.
[Budred] Tuesday, March 06, 2012 6:19:20 PM
That's funny.(really...I laughed)

The one thing people need to understand is that they're on a stage and they're giving a performance.
Does anyone here remember Alice Cooper. He said it's all show business and everyone needs an act.
Has anyone here seen Judas Priest when they're not on stage. That's not how they're dressed. And the leather
look isn't how they started out either. They evolved into it and it became their stage persona. A Judas Priest
show is just that, a show. MRH is doing the same thing only their show is blood, masks, and theatrics. So laugh
if you must but it's all Rock n Roll.

(not comparing Priest to MRH just trying to make a point)

I think I may have already posted this video. I was trying to delete it but can't for some reason. I was posting this for
JD to check out the crowd scene but after watching it I realized that if I wanted someone to check out MRH this is the worst
example musically. I could have went with. Love or hate them this isn't one of their better songs.

See, we can be civil. I thought you inflamed the other situation so I was trying to antagonize you.
I guess that's just being spiteful and there's no need for that either. I'm going to post a video in this thread.
I want you to watch it just to watch the crowd shots. Even though they're not big, their shows are crazy. . Try to ignore the music.(LOL)

Thanks for the props Hell Bent, however I'm sure there are tons of bands I like that you may not. I'm extremely narrow minded,Mystification is really the only album I like from Manilla Road, but they have songs here and there off other albums I do like. They are a original style band for sure, very obscure and different but very old school  late 70's early 80's style heavy metal.   I just got into Ghost a few weeks ago,I bought thier album Opus Eponymous and it is absolutely brilliant.

You don't understand,I don't want you to like it! ( I'm talking about Ghost, not Black Widow....I don't care for Black Widow  either but its because of the songs themselves and not thier sound or because they are from 1969.) Ghost are influenced by  a small dose of this Black Widow band and was a sample to member "Hell Bent For Judas"  this is why I posted it.

(Ghost)  I really wish I would be the only one who does like it,but someone else posted something positive. That should be it though. This isn't a band that I'll push to people but I like posting about them from time to time.  The Mushroomhead crack was a stab at you. Although I'm no music police,so my opinion is irrelevant and doesn't mean anything.

Not sure about the Randy Rhoads comparison but Ghost are influenced by bands like Black Widow from 1969 with a small touch of old 80's Mercyful Fate, and with the lyric content highly influenced by King Diamond's Mercyful Fate. You are correct, this song and band humiliates every talentless shit "NU" bands....especially like like Mushroomhead and new Iron Maiden and bullshit like this.

This song humiliates every talentless nu anti-music song. Nu METAL no way?The nu is not METAL, because
just a media brainwash against the METAL MUSIC.  A nu-something songs don't deserve the glorious METAL

The German opera Lulu is based in is very strange too (it shocked audiences when it debuted) but it's now regarded a masterpiece. The style that Lou Reed and Metallica have used is not new and it's been around for a long time. It's a typical New York style and has had me go through the original opera and I actually enjoy it. My only pet peeve is that there were no melodic references to the opera.

But it's weird and I like it. If Rob Halford is Nostradamus, then James Hetfield can be the Table.

I changed my mind about Ghost,I am a fan and this album is brilliant. This is  "late 60's rock" with  influences from early to mid 70's rock
that has many hints of heavy metal heavily influenced by early Mercyful Fate.

Very satanic and done the old school way instead of a progressive nu-styled shit sound. This sounds like it was recorded in 1975. Excellent album.

...chick band with a nice melodic heavy sound.
                       ...good stuff.

Whaa?? Why me?!? I don't even have those earbuds!!!

Oh! And uh...listened to the Stained Class album while driving around like a maniac doing errands. Car stereo in my Acura is pretty decent.

you just found a pet peve of mine.  why the hell is every car I get into, including my 64 year old mother in laws set up with the bass and trebble both cranked up?  WTF

I see hundreds of cars every day at work, drive probably one new one a day somewhere, and the EQ is always fucked up.  I am waiting for a car company to put a 27 band eq in a car.  some poor idiot will spend all day fucking the sound completly up.

Holy CRAP! I could feel the small bones move in my ears starting Demonizer! LOL! Probably best to stop.

Vail, break those suckers out of their box if you haven't done so yet and back me up on this. Heavy bass. No doubt. Listening to Jackson Browne right now and sounds odd. Could be fixed with an equalizer but Priest sounds freaking great! I burn through headphones like nothing. At $10? I might have to buy a few more.

Rapid Fire! Holy shit! Kick of the low-end sounds great with the guitars and vox.

LOVE BITES! That low note in the intro is perfect. Separation of guitars in the solo is better than my iPod earbuds.

What kick! Doesn't muddy Rob's screams either.

As if there was any doubt.

Bass in "Going Back to Cal" - LL Cool J. makes your entire head shake! Oh, gotta hear the intro to the next one.....

Damn, the vinyl makes a huge difference. Last song went into "Hey Nineteen." Sounds great! Wish I had some Cuervo Gold!

My Old School - Steely Dan (original analog recording. Sounds great even with the clicks!)

When the Tigers Broke Free - Pink Floyd (almost unlistenable. Bass is WAY too heavy without setting an equalizer).

Just One Fix - Ministry (Hells yeah! These things shine here).

What's Going On - Marvin Gaye (sounds damn good)
