My god man I can't imagine "The Metal God" walking off the bus and taking a picture...your right, what a gentleman totally!! That would be so awesome and so glad to hear that man. Yeah I know you've met him a few times but I'm sure it don't get boring!! Lol.
It's insane how good Rob sounds and sure without Glenn on Studio it wouldn't really be authentic Classic Priest, but since he IS still on the albums makes Ritchie an elite Judas Priest member, especially after 2 studio albums written along with Rob and Glenn...and 3 years left to go,he'll be a member of Judas Priest for "10" years a freakin decade!
Just love Ritchie man, sure Ken is OUR fav Always will be but it doesn't take away the fact of how important Ritchie is to Judas Priest. Anybody who says He's not is delusional. Totally different style than K.K.'s solos and riffs yet so right for this band. I couldn't imagine Priest ever getting rid of him FOR K.K. back.
When K.K. said he was shocked and stunned HE wasn't asked back to "HIS ORIGINAL ROLE" in the band... that really means booting out Ritchie and putting K.K. in.
Would be nice though to have K.K.,Ritchie and GLENN on an album and see K.K. And Ritchie play live with Glenn on the encores when possible. But for now this band is firing on all cylinders!

Damn straight, buddy.
Someone not knowing GLENN, though? Damn!!! They were not worthy of being at that show! lol It shoulda been ME!!!
Still, lucky indeed. Glad to read all of your stories. People meeting band members and such. Funny with Rob as I had brought a copy of Firepower with me and carried the damn thing in a bag with all my tech through the entire show. When he just popped out of the darkness in hat and glasses dressed in black in the dark by the busses, though? I didn't even think to bother the man for more than a picture. As you said, I had met him once before with Guitardude at the Meet and Greet in Texas and again in Detroit. I have his autograph a bunch of times. That pic is priceless!
guido... hell yeah man...I read your post too about you getting your pics with Rob off the tour bus...totally awsome!! What a RUSH even though you've met him before and all... still it's THE METAL GOD! When Glenn walked out the place ERUPTED man...I too started celebrating high fivin some fans around me and I looked behind me was a 21 yr old kid that looked puzzled like "what's the big deal and who is the old guy with the guitar"?? Lofl. 99% of the place went nuts though...
Saxon was awesome too man,Biff and Co. Kick ass don't they? Thunderbolt is a very kick butt album, the nod to Lemmy and Motorhead "They Played Rock and Roll" off the new album is an instant Saxon Classic.... such an underrated heavy metal band.
We are very lucky to have Glenn on the Firepower album man that is HUGE and really how good Firepower really is... I have said Redeemer is the 4th best Priest favorite and Firepower top It.
Sad Wings of Destiny, British Steel,Screaming for Vengeance,Defenders of the Faith,Painkiller.... If Firepower isn't equal to these records it's so DAMN CLOSE it's uncanny,so close.... so good of classic Judas Priest GEMS all 14 tracks that it' seriously doesn't get any better especially how each album is different... dude we are lucky to have THIS quality this late in the game. Pretty impressive more than ANY BAND EVER.

Absolutely insane! Your concert sounded great too, man. Very happy for you! A Glenn concert to boot? NICE! I would have written a response when I read your posts the first time but I didn't want to stomp all over the vid but you KNOW I read every word!
My show? Great but the best was that me and my buddy step out back to the tour busses...only to find Rob! Took a quick picture with each of us and off he went. Was snowing and all. What a gentleman! SOOO glad the picture turned out as well. Would likely have whipped my phone into a wall if it didn't capture it!! Once in a lifetime, buddy! \m/
Guido! Thanks man... YES! This is the octave screams at the end he hits and man in that video isn' that insane or what?
Not sure why he can' reach the very FIRST scream in the song,I mean it' still killer and all man but it must be pretty difficult and usually at the end he almost reaches this octave but very rarely...
And yes this video is how the END of Painkiller sounded...almost album perfect! Just great!!

I'm not sure how to post videos from my phone but if you go to YOUTUBE and type in "Rob Halford leaving it all on stage" its live at the Prudential theatre 3/20/18
(guido if you can post this clip I would highly appreciate it when ya have time)
it'll show the end of Painkiller where he sings "Pain...Pain...Killa...killa...Pain...Pain...Killa...Killerrrrr"...listen to how HIGH his range is on that very note... And watch how out of breath Rob is right after he belts it out gasping for breaths of air ..... fucking A man his heart and soul are into this...
I know he can't hit the octave like this at every show but this little clip PROVES he "sometimes does hit the very same high octave range SCREAM in Painkiller".
He didn't hit that note early the first time in the song THAT HIGH in octave range in this clip at the Prudential theatre but at the Showare Center last night he hit it like THE STUDIO ALBUM damn near close enough...both screams in Painkiller and it was even better than the clip at the Prudential theatre too.
It was amazing! I saw the clip from the Kent show last night on YouTube Metal Gods ....at the end Rob hugs Glenn and gives him a kiss on the cheek as he did a few weeks ago...I missed it really quick cause I was high fivin' people around me!!
The energy from this sold out show was amazing, you couldn't fit one more person in the place and even Ian looked stoked...ha ha he didn't move much from his spot at my show either lol however his bass neck was swinging all over the place as he was INTO IT...Scott too.... just a superb show all the way around! @vail... also I was referring to the both screams at the end of Painkiller, the first signature SCREAM at the beginning of the song he didnt hit like the album and can't hit often,he did in 2014 at the Tacoma Dome, last night his first scream wasn't as high( BUT STILL KILLER) as the last 2 screams at the end and idk why he can hit the 2 screams at the end in that octave as shown in the Prudential theatre clip but he can't seem to reach it that FIRST scream....
Well im sure it's a bitch to do in the first place lol. The Last 2 screams were spot on album like.... even that is rare...and it was kick buttocks!!
Yeah seeing Glenn walk out from behind the curtains was magical, and he kicked ass ... signaling the crowd fist to chest a couple times and back out at the crowd. Yeah it was awsome. Edited at: Monday, April 16, 2018 10:55:26 PM
Man, it's so awesome to read that you saw a great show, JD. And to have Glenn show up to play?? Holy crap!!!
Also liked what you said about Glenn fighting against all odds to make a performance or two during this tour. Shit, he's fightin' this disease to the bone!!! We are not worthy!!!

Holy Shit we just got out of the Showare Center in Kent,Wa here....SOLD OUT SHOW GUYS!!!! And to top it off....GLENN WAS HERE!!! FUCK YEAH!!
When Glenn walked out on Stage during encore the place UTTERLY ERUPTED and went totally BALLISTIC and fucking LOUD MAN what a RUSH to see him,I know in his heart he wants to do every show I'm sure, but how lucky we were to see him jam on stage and play Metal Gods and solo flawlessly, Breaking the Law and Living After Midnight and solo flawlessly....never WAS so happy to hear those tracks again that I used to tire of... WOW!
And again here in Washington State he nailed PAINKILLER and the SCREAM was so damn near PERFECT or it actually was perfect lol. I never thought he'd hit those notes but god damn it was fuckin killer! Andy was great had great stage presence and guitar parts and solos were excellent!
Saxon blew the roof off prior,Biff and the boys were in top form and there isn't a band in the WORLD better to open for Judas Priest! Saxon blew a lot of minds here and gained some fans with this performance.... a big thank you to Saxon!!!
Rob's vocals at 66 years old is fucking incredible... I know Budred's show and Head Bangers show he may of been sick,etc... And he won't be perfect every night but god damn guys like in 2014 Redeemer Of Souls tour in the Tacoma Dome he hit that signature Painkiller SCREAM...i thought he wouldnt be able to either but he fuckin did man...hopefully there is a youtube clip of it even with crappy quality you'll hear he hits it. Maybe its the wet moist air up here idk?
I talked to a few meatheads after the show and even they said they can't believe how excellent he sang Painkiller yet other youtube concerts he doesnt nail it like he can up here..idk I know it sounds like bullshit but by god damn on my mother's grave he hit the Painkiller notes the entire song!!! I've got nothing bad to say here.
It was absolutely excellent man fucking A!!! And hails to Glenn Tipton for making it out here on a rainy Sunday night in the state where it rains the most ....
And what an emotional feeling for me having posters of this guy plastered all over my bedroom walls as a kid growing up in the early 80's and with his condition walking out on Stage and rocking out with the guys like he just refuses to give in to that ugly disease he's battling....
Glenn thank you we love you man!!!! Edited at: Monday, April 16, 2018 2:09:40 AM

KEWL, man!!! My show was tops as well. I chuckled at the "Ian didn't move" comment as he sure as HELL didn't at my show either! On the other hand, I parked right in front of Richie and literally took hundreds of shots of him! Rob came over and....to top it all? My buddy and I caught him at the bus! Nobody but Rob came out as it was snowing. Great moment. Quick picture and...HE'S GOOOONE!!! lol
Concert review finally. Did not have time while in Denver. To busy hiking.
Did not think I would like BSR, but they were good. Crowd was half there (Thin Lizzy in Calgary for Epitath played to maybe 500 by the end of their set) more energy
Saxon was good also. Sound quality where I was could have been better, but they were good, first time seeing them
Priest was great. They figured out the sound quality issues. Richie seemed to spend a lot of time very far left on the stage. made photos hard. I think Ian wants to play behind the curtain. He hardly moved from his spot. came out and headbanged with andy a couple of times. Andy, Richie and Rob got headbanging together a few times. Scott was very into it all.
Rob sounded good, cant do the notes in painkiller, which is not new, and one song (I forget which one) he seemed off key the whole song, but it was a good show. New stuff sounded spot on to me
Rob didnt introduce anyone in the band, which I thought was odd.
If this tour gets this way I will go see them again. Glad I went, Denver is a nice area, got some good hiking in also.

Acolyte.... what a joke huh? The only GOOD thing is i think when we got screwed with our accounts so did those 2 stupid fucktarded assholes flick my boogers and his fat idiot who worshiped him. Fuck off to those 2 fucking dumb fucks....this place has been NICE without them. I'll bet they are floored they can't log onto the forum .... only can read what us TRUE Judas Priest fans are saying. They were anything BUT fans of our favorite band. Fuck those 2 fucking idiots. No more.
Firepower is so great of an album it's so close to Screaming For Vengeance....maybe not AS GOOD but does it really have to be? No. Not to mention it's almost utterly impossible to match that album even WITH K.K. Just love every track.... Glenn's slide guitar solo in Flame Thrower is absolutely kick ass bad ass and fucking brilliant! It's so Tipton it's great....all his solos...
First main solo in the middle of Evil Never Dies The entire solo on Never The Heroes The 2nd trade off solo on Necromancer The 2nd solo on Children Of The Sun The 2nd solo in Rising From Ruins The 2nd slide guitar solo in Flame Thrower The entire solo in No Surrender The first main solo in Sea Of Red
All the GREAT GLENN TIPTON.
Plus dual harmonies solos with Ritchie in Firepower Lightning Strike Guardians Traitors Gate......
A big fuck off to those out there who think he's not on this album!
