Well, if the question is who is the best Sabbath vocalist, that would have to be Rob Halford!

I have to say, I LOVE BOTH of them! Dio is absolutely incredible. He was awesome last year when Heaven and Hell toured with Priest. Great voice and great music writing ability. Ozzy makes me laugh and smile. I loved him in Sabbath and I love him solo too. Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman are two of my favorites. I love his energy on stage. He truly enjoys being up on stage and performing. His voice may not be what it was, but that doesn't change my opinion of him. He's kinda like that crazy uncle that you just can't help but love!

I JUST SENT YOU SOME SONGS. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.

I ALSO HAVE A BOOTLEG OF DIO SINGING DO OP IN 1959. NOT A GREAT RECORDING, BUT INTERESTING.

AND I COULDN'T AGREE WITH YOU MORE ON THE OZZY/DIO OPINION

I actually have not, if I am to be truthful.  I know of that band, but to my knowledge have never heard a single song.

HI RON, HAVE YOU EVER LISTENED TO DIO WITH ELF, BEFORE RAINBOW? NOT METAL, MORE BLUESY AND JAZZY, BUT HIS VOICE IS TREMENDOUS. GREAT STUFF. IF YOU'VE NEVER HEARD IT, IM ME YOUR E-MAIL ADDRES AND I'LL SEND YOU SOME SONGS.

And chinese metal some songs sound kindof country because Zakk Wylde loves country music, black rain was alright there were some ballads on it (Here for you, and another i cant remember) but Blizzard of Oz, Diary of a madman and No More Tears are amazing. But Holy Diver, Last In Line and Sacred heart wins. DIO

JD i agree Dio was better solo, sabbath was great with Ozzy, altho Heavern and Hell and Mob Rules were amazing albums, The new album and dehumanizer is alright, and Dio's solo stuff is very underrated in my opinion. Its amazing. and not many people know about Strange Highways or Lock up the wolves or even sacred heart. those are all amazing albums

why is ozzy so underrated here, I think his work with zakk are pretty good, including the 2007 album "black rain"
but I do agree some of his  songs are not so metal, if not country~~

I´ll go with Dio. He has a much better voice, second best ever imo (Halford has the best ofc :)). Better songs, and he is and was better with Sabbath.

I can't ignore what Sabbath with Ozzy di for Hard Rock/Heavy Metal.
I like most all of Sabbaths work...but Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules are my two favorites.
I really liked the first few Ozzy solo albums, but after that it got repetitve to me and I was done.
I've enjoyed DIO from Rainbow to present.
It's close, but I have to give the nod to DIO over the course of a career!!!

That may be,but the new "Heaven & Hell" album titled "The Devil You Know"  may have a kick ass art-work cover to the album, but the music is very overrated and "dull".

I think that the albums "Heaven & Hell"...."The mob Rules"...and even "Dehumanizer" blows this new album out of the water with no comparison in quality.

Ozzy vs. Dio huh?  If we are talking about Black Sabbath I would go with Ozzy even though this is so close its neck and neck...but I'll go with old Black Sabbath's first 8 albums from 1970 - 1978.

If we are talking about solo careers...I'd go with Dio.  Dio has at least 3 or 4 more worthy solo albums than Ozzy.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by adrianaec_88 from Wednesday, June 24, 2009 10:14:59 AM)

I think the point is that Sabath is not just ozzy.  sabath existed with dio, gillian, martin....

personaly, I prefer Dio vocals, but the best sabath album to me is born again.  probably because it was the first LP I bought.  but, with sabath, solo, recently, Dio all the way in this comparo.

Maybe I'm just an odd ball but I like Black Sabbath better --I like Van Hagar better
All I can say is to each his own--you like who you want to & I'll like who I want to--ok??

Ozzy vs. Dio? Ok I dont like Ozzy...Ive never heard any album from Ozzy, just this albums when he was in Black Sabbath...I like Dio more he has amazing voice
[adrianaec_88] Wednesday, June 24, 2009 10:14:59 AM
what's with the "I prefer Black Sabbath over Heaven N Hell"??? ok.. Sabbath IS NOT Ozzy... and Heaven N Hell has the same line-up that Sabbath from 80 to 82 and on 91-92, IT IS Black Sabbath, they just had to use a different name because of stupid Sharon

Could be but I don't think he would've been that good with his short attention span !!--he'd probably be singing "Bark At The Moon " while the recording was "Mr Crowley "--lol
