The difference between dist and overdrive? Its realy the same thing right but different types, dist the more modern sound? But, the overdrivepedal is that one used simply to not destroy your amp? (crank it up and make it dist by it self but also destroys the amp) Do you get what I mean?

Here's what it says in the Metal Works booklet.  :
