I agree.. I am happy they are coming to my home town.It is Judas Priest Eve here in St.Louis and I have 13th Row Center.I am getting fired up already, just glad I work 2 jobs but time is slowing and I feel like a rat in a cage. The release from a live Priest show is what me body and soul is in dire need of. |

Well I will take what I can get! Whooo this friday July 3rd. However I thought they were going to play the older classics, like Hero Hero, rocka rolla, and sad wings stuff... I was really pumped for some of that! |

Of the two songs I was hoping they'd play (but figured they'd never do it), one was The Sentinel. The other was Out In The Cold. Yeah - they did all of British Steel. I'll take a stab at the set list, although I don't recall the specific order.
The Ripper
Victim of Changes
Diamonds and Rust
Breaking The Law
Rapid Fire
Metal Gods
Grinder
United
Living After Midnight
You Don't Have To Be Old To Be Wise
The Rage
Steeler
You've Got Another Thing Comin'
Freewheel Burning
Rock Hard, Ride Free
Prophecy

With as much material as they had to choose from for this show, I was pretty happy with the end results. Although IF they'd added a few more songs, I'd have chosen something from that list (Sinner, Tyrant, etc.). |

Prophecy is the "i am nostradamus" one, its different from the title track Nostradamus, Does anyone have the full setlist? |

I thought Prophecy was the "I am Nostradamus" song, but I could be mistaken. Regardless, they played the "I am Nostradamus" one. This was my first Priest concert ever, so I guess they made an awesome first impression on me. I've been a long-time fan, so this was a real treat. Unfortunately, I've never had the British Steel CD (got most of the others), so there were a few songs I didn't know (that's going to be fixed real soon, tho). But I did enjoy their entire set.
I was a bit disappointed that not all the seats were sold - I sat in the back (best seats I could afford) and had a terrific view of the band (row MM - not too bad in a small venue) over the 4 rows of empty seats in front of me. I considered moving up several times, but decided that I'd rather have the good view than be smushed up against the rest of the crowd. Even though it wasn't jam-packed, the crowd was very loud and I think the band fed on that energy. They performed tunes from many of their albums. I can recall hearing Victim of Changes and The Ripper (Sad Wings), Diamonds and Rust (Rocka Rolla/Sin After Sin), lots of British Steel (maybe the whole album), You've Got Another Thing Comin' (Vengeance), Freewheel Burning (Defenders), and Prophecy (Nostradamus).
Loved the show - Rob was in rare form, getting the audience into the show in what I'd guess was typical fashion, doing his calls to the audience, then getting us to repeat them. Watching Glenn and KK trade off lead on various songs was just incredible, as I've always been in awe of their talents on the guitar. How they can get their fingers to move that fast on some of their faster songs (like Freewheel Burning) just amazes me. And Ian was so into the show - it was great to watch Rob and Ian perform together while Glenn and KK did their thing on center stage. And Scott was terrific on the drums, showing off his talents (and keeping in time, even when the audience began clapping far faster than the band).
Rob changed about 3-4 times during the show, going from his first leather outfit with vest, to another similar suit, then later to a full suit with helmet for the Nostradamus song (complete with staff), and finally to a biker suit when he rolled onto stage on the motorcycle.
Great show - highly recommended! |

I'm reaching out to all the fans out there that live in or near NH. Aug. 23rd date in Gilford NH does not seem to selling very good. Couple possible reasons is (1) this site has not posted links to purchase tickets and (2) tickets are sold directly from the venue and not through Ticketmaster or LiveNation. Here is the link http://www.meadowbrook.net/ Please let's help out of metal gods and get tickets or spread the word to family and friends who may be in the area. This is a really nice venue and I'm sure everyone would enjoy it! |
