Guys, I just got back, I'm so damn excited, every single thing worked out perfectly tonight.
I have the best pictures that I ever have taken. I have the best footage that I have ever taken.
You guys have got to let me share this stuff with you.
I saw every band that I wanted to see. All but two of them from right next to the stage. I got picks
from Trivium, Lost Prophets, and Disturbed. Here's the coolest and I didn't get a picture or video
to prove it but you got to believe me on this one. During Godsmack Sully came over to our side of
the stage. He jumped up on the speakers right in front of the couple next to us. He was jamming in
front of them and I started pointing down at my wife while motioning for a pick. He started to walk
away towards the middle of the stage like he's going to walk right by us. Here's the cool part.
He stopped right in front of my wife. He got down on his knees and stopped playing. He started to stick
his guitar out (I thought for her to touch.) Then just let it dangle in front of her while he starts leaning forward
with the pick in his mouth. She's really short so when she started reaching she was struggling to get to
it. Then he was struggling to get closer (cause he's dangling over a speaker) and it was taking a second.
Finally she got it and I noticed it was being shown on the screens. When she got it people were clapping
and patting her on the back. It was the coolest shit. I'll post my videos and pics over the next few days.
You guys will love some of it.

Even Disturbed? I know you don't like them, but really? I'd love to see Disturbed but I live in a live entertainment abyss.
Machinehead will out muscle them all. Don't forget some footage of them.

Disturbed and Godsmack I like and I definitely want to see Megadeth.
Red Fang will be cool and I want to see about three others so I'm thinkin'
I'm going to have a good time. Except for the weather!!! 89' and maybe
storms between 4:00 and 6:00.
At least during the hottest part of the day I'll be under shelter up in the pit.
Wait??? I'm happy about that?(hottest part...) (pit)?

Yeah' I knew that. I hate to admit it but I have that CD. I think I like about 5 songs on it.
Anyway, I had forgotten about him afterward and saw Rob Zombie last year and mentioned John 5 here.
I think it was Guido who refreshed my memory. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by kman1759 from Tuesday, June 21, 2011 7:22:25 PM)

This is Rob Zombie from last year's Mayhem. The main reason that I'm posting this is so
you guys can check out the guitarist. (John 5). He has a pretty good solo here. Finishes it up with
a little bit of "Star Spangled Banner" using his teeth. Not the best video but check it out.

Beastwars are definately New Zealands best metal band. Make sure you check out this weeks Metal Meltdown show, I played the first single off the new Red Fang album for you. The link is in the radio show thread. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by Budred from Friday, June 03, 2011 9:51:15 AM)

Thanks.

I should have put this up last year. I was thinking about the Mayhem Festival coming this July in Pittsburgh, Pa.
and it got me watching this. I didn't care for these guys until I saw them live. Five Finger Death Punch doing "Bad Company". Edited at: Friday, June 03, 2011 9:10:24 AM

I finally got to listen to Beastwars. I listened to the first five tracks and definitely will listen to the rest.
That's good stuff. Between this, Sahg, and Red Fang, I have some pretty good music to start listening to.
I guess thanks are in order, I would never had heard them had it not been for you. As far as the concert,
yes, I had a great time. Half of the appeal to ROTR is the crowd. 33,000 people with those kinds of bands
usually produces interesting things and all the crowd surfing and moshing is crazy. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by jimmyjames from Saturday, May 28, 2011 4:01:28 PM)

If you want to hear something really awesome go to www.beastwars.bandcamp.com and check those guys out. You can listen to the whole album online for free and download a free track if you want to.

I was going to leave you a PM but I don't think you want that from me. One of the highlights
of ROTR for me was Red Fang. I never would have heard of those guys had it not been for you. I'm
glad I listened to your radio show that day. If you haven't already, check out the video I posted. It's not
terrible quality and I think you might like it. I know you like bands like Kyuss, Sahg, and Fu Manchu.
These guys fit right in with that. I'll be seeing them again in July. I'll try to get more video. You don't
have to respond to this but check out the video, you might like it.(You might not.) If you want to see a
crazy crowd check out the Bullet... video. I know you probably don't like them so skip to the 3 minute
mark up until about the 5 minute mark. It's pretty crazy.

Black Label Society doing "Stillborn" at Rock on the Range. The quality is poor but
I'm doing this with a digital camera. I need to get a "Flip" or something. The only band
with really shitty sound to me was Rev. Theory so I'm not understanding why the sound
quality is so poor on these videos. I spent some time on youtube yesterday and a majority
of mainstage videos had poor sound. Maybe because it was an open stadium?
[Budred] Tuesday, May 24, 2011 8:34:37 PM
The quality of this video is poor. It's not loud enough and the pictured is blurred. I also know the
majority here don't care about Bullet For My Valentine. They were so badass live though. I didn't
care for them at all until I saw them last year. They were even better this year. Anyway, the reason
I'm putting this up is because of the crowd. Even their singer commented that this was the craziest
crowd they've seen in a long time. The first minute or two it isn't too bad but try to watch about 4 or 5
minutes of this. If you hate BFMV too much turn the sound down. This is why I love ROTR so much.
Crazy ass crowd!
[Budred] Monday, May 23, 2011 7:20:35 PM
Rock on the Range was a blast.
The Line-up could have been a little better but of all the bands I watched only about 6 of them
sucked. Many pleasant surprises like Puddle of Mudd, Escape the Fate, A Day to Remember, Hinder,
and the biggest surprise was Avenged Sevenfold. I enjoyed their set very much. I may even start liking them.
Danzig was badass, as was Korn and Alter Bridge. I loved Red Fang. Very good band. A band called
Asking Alexandria brought Sebastion Bach out for a hardcore rendition of Youth Gone Wild which turned out pretty good.
The crowd was probably the craziest crowd I've ever seen. Bullet For My Valentine had one of the craziest. I never
saw so much body surfing and moshing. (last year's crowd was pretty close though) A Day to Remember ask the
crowd to start a circle pit. The biggest craziest one I ever saw. They ran completely around the sound board
stage about 10 wide moshing and slamming. Supposedly 1 guy got knocked out and had his motionless body passed to front
over the crowd. There was a guy in a pink gorilla suit moshing and body surfing. A big guy too, pretty funny.
To the guys who like hot girls, my goodness is all I'll say. Some girl was bragging about being filmed giving her guy friend
oral during Porn Star dancing by My Darkest Days and a couple was tossed for having sex during Escape the Fate.
I'll probably go again next year. The coolest concerts that I've been too have been the last two ROTR's. This shit was fun. Edited at: Monday, May 23, 2011 7:23:10 PM
