What options do they have in stock? If they have a website, drop me the link.... They have this specific guitar on the wall, but for 1.5g`s but I really want it!!! They also have one with EMG`s

The SL2-H is a killer piece. Which variant did you get? There is one with an alder body and two with mahogany. If black was an option, odds are you have the alder one with a flamed maple top..

Ok. The Green Laminate Flame. I went for an oldschool (martyKroft) Glow Death vibe. THe black was cheaper but uavailable. But i wouldnt have went black anyways. I bought it for the wood. And for the slick neck jackson feel. |

The dealer also offerd me a equal trade , so when this thing does show up, they will give me what I payed for my alternate to trade for the M-1. Not a bad deal, but I see a Jackson or Charvel in my near future!!!! |

It's not like the rep put any effort into it, either. I'm more than certain that Musician's Friend, Sam Ash, or any other chain has a few in stock and they would gladly return part of their stagnant inventory than let is sit and depreciate...
The rep really poked your pooper on this one, and should have put some sort of work into it.... |

I think it`s both ESP and my dealer. Esp should`ve been able to produce it asap after ordering it and my dealer is mostly a second hand dealer with the coolst inventory you could imagine of older and vintage model equipment. They weren`t there Saturday afternoon, sign on the door said"Gone to Guitar Show"!!!
So off to Dallas I went. Didn`t see any of them, talked to a guy at the ESP booth and he took my info.
Aside from that saw some good playing. But Lynch was no where on the schedule, he must have cancelled??! I never really got into playing other people's songs. I did the cover thing when I was in high school, but after that it was all about creating to me. I would concentrate on developing your dexterity. After that, to me, it's about taking the essence of your favorite players. Not necessarily copying them. You might be surprised at how good your own music can be since it will always mean more to you than someone elses expressions of themselves. Floyds are still good if you get an Origonal Floyd, a lot of the modern musicians don't like them because setting them up for low tunings is a real pain. Kahlers are another option to consider, but you will have to have a Floyd type nut installed.
Oh, one of the biggest issues with the Floyd seems to be the sustain block. A few of the people I know who have them have ordered a brass replacement for it and all of them say it makes a WORLD of difference tonally... |

Good advice SDB, relaxing is critical. I used to catch myself with a death grip on the neck and would use way to much pressure while fretting.
To break myself of this I forced myself to play without putting my thumb behind the neck.
I would place my thumb along side my index finger.
The cramps this caused were horrendous, but it helped me learn to relax and use a lighter touch. Ah, thanks big guy! Knew you could describe 1000x better than I! Welcome back. [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by guitardude from Thursday, March 19, 2009 3:04:00 PM) | | guitardude wrote: | | Hey JD
To respond to Guido`s comment, those Hamers are amazing. The action is better on them than any guitar I have put fingers on!! The Phantom really amazed me as it`s action just simply could not be any better!! the Vector had a much wider neck then the Phantom, but it`s action was amazingly low as well. It made my BC Rich( now sold) look pale in comparison and I thought it had good action!!!
The Phantom could really spoil a player quickly!! I`ve been scouring E-bay frequently looking for one since August. | | guidogodoy wrote: | | Which one...there are two in the pic!
Short answwer is, yeah, they are BOTH absolutely outstanding. Too bad guitardude is out of town. He has seen and played both when we went to the Priest concert last August. He could comment better than I.
In an nutshell, though, yeah...both are SWEET!! | | J.D. DIAMOND wrote: | | guidogodoy is the action on that "Hamer" guitar sweet? I never played one. | | guidogodoy wrote: | | Some of 'em.

That is one of those days that I still remember what I was doing and where I was when I heard the news. Such a sad day it was, and to this day still a tragic loss. R.I.P. Randy. I`m back!!
We only did Disney, not Universal. The Aerosmith coaster was down! But I did ride it in 2004 while there. We did a dining plan there so our choices were strictly at Disney, hell that`s the way to go , we took a boat load of cash and come back with most of it still in our possession!!!!
We did all the parks open to close everyday , man am I beat!!! My boys held up very well considering they weren`t accustomed to the amount of walking involved!!
As for my guitar, still not here!!!! Called the ESP rep while at the store this afternoon, and he said he would check into it!! [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by SDBinNY from Saturday, March 14, 2009 7:18:13 PM)

That sucks, a little anyway... At least you have something to look forward to after the trip...
If you hit Disney, check out the Aerosmith coaster, and if you go to Universal, you HAVE to ride The Hulk. Both coasters kick ass. Either way, have a great time with the boys, and if you can find it go to Angel's seafood buffet.. |
