That is an awesome option, but much like mine I am more than certain your children have become comfortable with things like eating...

What options do they have in stock? If they have a website, drop me the link....

The SL2-H is a killer piece. Which variant did you get? There is one with an alder body and two with mahogany. If black was an option, odds are you have the alder one with a flamed maple top..
[K2M] Tuesday, April 21, 2009 4:56:47 PM
Ok. The Green Laminate Flame. I went for an oldschool (martyKroft) Glow Death vibe. THe black was cheaper but uavailable. But i wouldnt have went black anyways. I bought it for the wood. And for the slick neck jackson feel.

K2M, which finish?

well as the story went, the US distribitor for ESP had received 800 guitars from Japan. That is why they told it was in the country, but apparently the LTD M-1 wasn`t part of the shipment. I believe they are bull shitting me also, but what can I do? They have several Jackson`s (new and used) and the new production Charvel`s in stock that I can walk out with.
They have this specific guitar on the wall, but for 1.5g`s but I really want it!!! They also have one with EMG`s

It`s over my budget, but man the temptation is so strong!!!

It's not like the rep put any effort into it, either. I'm more than certain that Musician's Friend, Sam Ash, or any other chain has a few in stock and they would gladly return part of their stagnant inventory than let is sit and depreciate...

The rep really poked your pooper on this one, and should have put some sort of work into it....
[Head banger] Monday, April 20, 2009 6:03:45 PM

FFS didnt they tell you once they had shiped it.  I hate it when people lie like that.  they could have told you up front that you would wait till june, and you make your decission.

I had a car dealer tell me that the toyota camrys I had ordered were delayed due to storms in the pacific delaying the boat.  fine, except, they are made in kentucky.  how the fuck did they get on a boat?

OK, finally, an answer anyway!!!!
ESP has pushed it back until June, this is not acceptable to me so I have arranged to go in this weekend and select something else.
The dealer also offerd me a equal trade , so when this thing does show up, they will give me what I payed for my alternate  to trade for the M-1. Not a bad deal, but I see a Jackson or Charvel in my near future!!!!
[guitardude] Sunday, April 19, 2009 6:39:10 PM
I think it`s both ESP and my dealer. Esp should`ve been able to produce it asap after ordering it and my dealer is mostly a second hand dealer with the coolst inventory you could imagine of older and vintage model equipment. They weren`t there Saturday afternoon, sign on the door said"Gone to Guitar Show"!!!
So off to Dallas I went. Didn`t see any of them, talked to a guy at the ESP booth and he took my info.
Aside from that saw some good playing. But Lynch was no where on the schedule, he must have cancelled??!

I never really got into playing other people's songs.  I did the cover thing when I was in high school, but after that it was all about creating to me.  I would concentrate on developing your dexterity.  After that, to me, it's about taking the essence of your favorite players.  Not necessarily copying them.  You might be surprised at how good your own music can be since it will always mean more to you than someone elses expressions of themselves.

Hey, Paper. The rest of the videos should be in the menu on the right. Youtube links related videos in that column. You might want to register at ultimateguitar.com, they have a lot of information for beginers..

Of course, there are a lot of good people here to point you in other beneficial directions...
[paperflowers] Sunday, April 19, 2009 8:46:30 AM
Thanks for the link. Is there a part 2? I'd like to learn the rest of the song. The original tabs looks too hard (barre chords). I downloaded the power tab file from ultimate-guitar.com and it sounds a little funny.

I heard oldies are really easy?

Seriously, I gotta call some serious BS on this one. ESP is a friggin HUGE company with almost limitless production capabilities. It's not like they have Tibetan Monks chewing the body out of a solid tree in the Himalayas...

I would surmise that someone seriously dropped the ball or your dealer has credit issues with their supplier....
[guitardude] Saturday, April 18, 2009 12:00:17 PM
No, but I am about to go out for errands and one stop is the store where I ordered it from. I`m getting some answers or a refund of my deposit. Enough is enough allready!!   Oh , when I called them yesterday, they tell me my rep was at the guitar show!!!!! hopefully getting me a Lynch autograph!!

On another note
As I sit here, it`s the 16th . It has now been two months since I have ordered my guitar. I am awaiting a call back today for an update as I was told tomorrow would be the day it arrives!
The pisser is this, the Greater Southwest guitar show is in town today thru Sunday. And of all people scheduled to play..........GEORGE LYNCH...!!!!!!!
Would be damn nice to have a replica of his to get an autograph on!!!!
[guitardude] Thursday, April 16, 2009 1:18:06 PM
The Floyd`s are a pain in the ass for sure. Tuning them after changing strings is a lesson in patience.
If you`re going to get a custom shop Jackson, go ahead and get the Kahler. they have more  adjustability and are easier to set-up and use.
I`m addicted to the Floyds myself, but after all thses years, I`ve learned a trick or two about them.
Ibanez has a couple of better versions of a Floyd and they work beautifully!!

[SDBinNY] Thursday, April 16, 2009 11:58:57 AM
Floyds are still good if you get an Origonal Floyd, a lot of the modern musicians don't like them because setting them up for low tunings is a real pain. Kahlers are another option to consider, but you will have to have a Floyd type nut installed.

Oh, one of the biggest issues with the Floyd seems to be the sustain block. A few of the people I know who have them have ordered a brass replacement for it and all of them say it makes a WORLD of difference tonally...
[Bazookajoe_666] Thursday, April 16, 2009 11:13:11 AM
Okay I need some opinions on this since I'm eventually gonna get a custom built King V someday.

What is a good tremolo system to get? I always hear Floyd's suck dick now, and all sorts of others are better. I haven't got a clue. Anyone wanna PM me or just post it here?
[guidogodoy] Wednesday, April 15, 2009 11:20:35 PM
Nah, really doubt that...no one seems to believe me. I suck at it! LOL.

I also appreciate the advice. While I still absolutely stink, I'll take any and all advice I can get as I "plink around" with my two powerchords. LOL!

Have to admit that I grip that sucker with a clench that would rival that of a WWF pro.
[guitardude] Wednesday, April 15, 2009 4:36:52 PM
Good advice SDB, relaxing is critical. I used to catch myself with a death grip on the neck and would use way to much pressure while fretting.
To break myself of this I forced myself to play without putting my thumb behind the neck.
I would place my thumb along side my index finger.
The cramps this caused were horrendous, but it helped me learn to relax and use a lighter touch.

Seriously... PRACTICE. PRACTICE. PRACTICE some more. The more you play, the better your dexterity will get. Make sure your hands are relaxed, squeezing too hard will give you major problems...

Hi guys! I am (still) a beginner guitar player and would like to play something someday.  What is the easiest song in the entire world that a complete idiot can play? To date, I am completely stumped by Iron Man, Crazy Train, Sweet Child of Mine and Smells Like Teen Spirit. Maybe I need to trade the V in for a drum set?

Hey JD
To respond to Guido`s comment, those Hamers are amazing. The action is better on them than any guitar I have put fingers on!! The Phantom really amazed me as it`s action just simply could not be any better!! the Vector had a much wider neck then the Phantom, but it`s action was amazingly low as well. It made my BC Rich( now sold) look pale in comparison and I thought  it had good action!!!
The Phantom could really spoil a player quickly!! I`ve been scouring E-bay frequently looking for one since August.

I`m back!!
We only did Disney, not Universal. The Aerosmith coaster was down! But I did ride it in 2004 while there. We did a dining plan there so our choices were strictly at Disney, hell that`s the way to go , we took a boat load of cash and come back with most of it still in our possession!!!!
We did all the parks open to close everyday , man am I beat!!! My boys held up very well considering they weren`t accustomed to the amount of walking involved!!

As for my guitar, still not here!!!!  Called the ESP rep while at the store this afternoon, and he said he would check into it!!   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by SDBinNY from Saturday, March 14, 2009 7:18:13 PM)
