Trust me, I am chipping away slowly at Craig to see if he will fork out for me to go see them! I just realised, I have work on mondays, but not tuesdays, so a day trip flying up to Auckland on the monday and back tuesday would probably work out.
Well I just searched ticketek.co.nz for October 5th concerts - all they have listed is Il Divo, yuck! LOL! The price for Australian tickets is $89.95....now that's darn cheap for those bands!!! ...... I can buy my tickets through ticket master or the record shop in the city......It took a bit of messing around to get the prices, but I managed.

I am very excited too, as you can no doubt tell! VERY excited! The Detroit gig was wonderful and I will never forget it but this show will be very special. An opportunity to have the lad actually see the Metal Gods at their finest. I really think he will come away with a new perspective of heavy metal music and Priest. He hears it all the time, what with my playing the CDs and my own recordings. This is a monumental moment in his life! I have read some of the posts from those of you that have taken your children this time around and I want to share in that feeling. That moment when you bond through music. That love that WE all feel when we are here, sharing in the Priest!

Actually Ron, the problem is that it wasn't a busy week at all! The problem with the time off between end of school/beginning of uni is I have very little to do at the moment- even though I'd been looking forward to it all year. The days tend to run into each other a little (hence my confusion). Am somewhat bored of being 'off' and want to be busy again- grass always being greener and so on...

Sorry, DF. To dumb it down a bit for your feeble brain: a "referent" is something to which a word or phrase REFERS. HAAAAAAAA!!!! Such as in the case of an anaphoric pronoun.
Oh, how it often pains me to have to deal with linguistic "commoners".....

To answer the "ese" vs. "esa" question: yes and no.
The slang "ese" (used as a form of address almost like "dude" or "guy") only exists in the masculine form. HOWEVER, "esa" exists as does a formal version of "ese" - they are both demonstrative adjectives AND pronouns.
ese (no accent) is the masculine singular demonstrative adjective meaning "that" (ie. ese libro = that book)
ése (with accent) is a demonstrative pronoun meaning (that ONE). As in all pronouns, you have to have established a referent: (No me gusta ese libro, prefiero ése - I don't like that book, I prefer that ONE...the one being implicit having established the masculine singular noun "el libro" as your referent).
Same goes for feminine singular: esa mujer - that woman; ésa = that one.
The plurals work the same but watch the form. Masculine plural of "ese" is "esos"; "ése" is "ésos" <==common error among illiterates to say "eses." Feminine plurals are normal: "esa" goes to "esas"'; the pronouns "ésa" goes to "ésas."
Hope this helps clarify, ¡güero!

As in all pronouns, you have to have established a referent: (No me gusta ese libro, prefiero ése - I don't like that book, I prefer that ONE...the one being implicit having established the masculine singular noun "el libro" as your referent).

whats the compression ratio on that?
| | Deep Freeze wrote: | | A Mexican friend of mine used "esa" once but I do not know if it really is "appropriate". I suppose I will have to ask Guido. Morning everyone! A lovely day here and I am taking the dog out for a run shortly. Busy day ahead, I'm heading in to camp at lunchtime to watch a rugby tourmament between the logistics regiment units, which will be interesting. Then we're off to the RSA then a 30th birthday party this evening |

Aaah, now I found the problem. Our buddy took 2 pictures and I sent you the first one - the one he took on the count of 2 instead of 3. Then we yelled at him and told him to take another one. This is the second picture he took. Left your legs for all to see!

Psychos?? Yeah right.... I won't say anymore because I wouldn't want to ruin your reputation by saying that you two are the nicest people we have met in a LONG time! Very genuine and down to Earth. We were just saying that we would LOVE to meet up with you guys again! As for the hubby being scared, NAH! He was trying to figure out why his buddy couldn't work a simple camera! Remember.... there was the countdown, then he didn't take the picture.... then another countdown and he snapped the picture on 2 instead of 3? I guess they didn't teach that at MOO U!! BWHAAAAAA! I'm resending you this picture because it shouldn't be blurry... you know, just in case you want to frame it or something.....
