I have approx. 60 different bands on CD(all original cds with booklets ect...no burned copies) and they are all true metal, thrash, black, death, hard rock bands. Godsmack,Rob Zombie,Korn,Disturbed are my enemies and I fight against these bands on a yearly basis when ever I get the chance, those are the bands that over-crowd the rest of the good bands in my book.
But this is only my opinion so I'm not saying you suck for liking these bands,it just sucks whenever I see them thats all. lol! Well, going back to Saxon I was just showing that they do have some shit albums, out of 18 albums 4 albums totally suck and 2 others are half shit and half good, that leaves 12 albums that are good Saxon LPs,they may have a song or 2 on them that is not good but the majority of them are good...80% of these 12 Saxon albums are excellent. Cool Painkiller, the only track I didn't like was Big Teaser, but the rest of the album is a cool groovy 70's vibe for sure,it may not be Saxon's best work but its not a bad album. Power & The Glory is not bad either. Yeah 18 studio albums and only 6 of them I wouldn't recommend. Maiden has now 15 studio albums and there are 8 of them I wouldn't recommend.
While everybody is flocking towards Iron Maiden your collecting Saxon and going against the popular trend, good for you and rightfully so because they do have some excellent albums thats why in my opinion Saxon is the biggest underrated heavy metal band of all time.9 out of 10 people you ask will not know thier music ,they really only know thier name and logo.

Hey thats cool Steve, yeah part 2 is a good show ect.. And yeah,Lionheart is Saxon's best album but only in my opinion,I'm not saying that everything I say must go....but I'm just judging thier albums on a traditional sound and then its all about opinions ect...but yes I would stick up for Lionheart as thier best album.I like all the tracks on this one,and even if you don't like ..lets say 2 tracks you don't care for there are still 9 other songs that are cool a whole album's worth of great Saxon material. Just scroll down this thread and check out those 12 albums that I said were Saxon's best,I'd say 90% of Saxon fans who know thier stuff would agree with me. (lol!) Oh yeah the Rock On The Range 2010...well it just blew me away that there were like 15 bands and not one of them I could find that were even decent,so that was me being a dick haha!! Sorry Budred,I know you like all those bands now but to me its a nightmare as I'm a metal purest and extremely "narrow minded" but I'm proud of being 'narrow minded" because it ancors me into the pure form of metal and hard rock.
But this is only my opinion so I'm not saying you suck for liking these bands,it just sucks whenever I see them thats all. lol! As for Saxon goes...even though you love Judas Priest I don't think Saxon these days is your cup of tea as they do not have any kind of sound like the bands you like listed in the ROTR show. Godsmack, Rob Zombie, etc. etc..
As far as Saxon, dude it's all good. That was me being a dick.
The three albums I named are the ones I like. In the last 15 years
I haven't even listened to Saxon so that analysis is stupid on my part.
| | J.D. DIAMOND wrote: | | (lol!) Thats cool and all and I get you reacted after a post I left after yours ect..ect..ect...but WTF does "(ROTR 2010)" mean anyways lol! ? Have you been smoking my pot or have I been smoking too much? (ROTR 2010)??
Well, going back to Saxon I was just showing that they do have some shit albums, out of 18 albums 4 albums totally suck and 2 others are half shit and half good, that leaves 12 albums that are good Saxon LPs,they may have a song or 2 on them that is not good but the majority of them are good...80% of these 12 Saxon albums are excellent. I like ALL the songs on the 2004 Lionheart album and all the songs on the 2007 The Inner Sanctum album. | | Budred wrote: | | Actually it was directed at you. I was throwing a jab because of a post you left after one of mine.
(ROTR 2010). I had it pointed out to me afterwards that I take things to serious on this site.
I took it as a personal attack, I guess I shouldn't have. Peace. (Quoting Message by J.D. DIAMOND from Monday, March 15, 2010 2:05:48 PM)
