Mechanise - Fear Factory.

Sting in the Tail-Scorpions

The Last in Line-Dio (RIP)

Just saw something at the record store today that pissed me off. I was looking at the Judas Priest CDs that were on sale, and one of the used Painkiller CDs being sold had a big black marker scribble on the plastic case, covering the metal monster. It was an original release, too. Why anyone would want to cover up the Painkiller then sell it to the record store is beyond me.

Warrior On The Edge Of Time - Hawkwind.
The Sound Of Perserverance - Death.

The whole thing cracks me up actually. In fairness he does sound pretty good in some of it. And he has soldiered on for the last 30 years flying the metal flag. Be nice if Iron Maiden would invite him up on stage once in a while, he was a huge part of their history. It would have been ace if they'd brought him along on the Somewhere Back In Time Tour, he could have done two or three songs to give Bruce a break.

He's playing at Bar Bodega on Ghuznee St in Wellington on July 1st. You can get tickets at Real Groovy Records on Cuba St. Only $46. That's a bargain to see the man who sang on the first two Maiden albums. Plus Bodega only holds around 5 or 600 people. It'll be awesome.

Speed freak, Lemmy's biggest fault, at least during the Hawkwind days.

There's a couple of Hawkwind versions - the original and best was the B-side to a single, which is now on the remastered Warrior CD i mentioned, the other was a 12'' single outtake that appeared in the '80's. And yes - Lemmy sang/wrote it and it was the inspiration for his band. Ppl over here don't know the USA term 'motorhead', means 'speed-freak'. Useless info that i am a mine of..lol.

When I said their version that makes it sound like a cover. For those that don't know,
that was the birth of Motorhead.

The two albums I got are really good so I'll definately be on the lookout for more. I'll keep an eye out for the ones you mentioned. From the small amount heard I'm sure they would be awesome live.

Space Ritual brings back memories (even if a little clouded).
A little paper and some Hawkwind, the magic combo.

Early Hawkwind...now ur talkin'! Best albums tho are Space Ritual or Warrior On The Edge Of Time. In my roadie days was lucky enuff to work with the band and several side projects...always fun...I'd rate em as one of the best live bands i've seen. :)
