Motorhead was awesome for sure...I was hoping they'd play Going to Brazil-I love that song!
NOW they need to play Bomber next time i see them and I'd be REALLY happy! 01 Dr. Rock
02 Stay Clean
03 Be My Baby
04 Killers
05 Metropolis
06 Over The Top
07 In The Name Of Tragedy
08 Mickey Dee Drum Solo
09 In The Name Of Tragedy Part II
10 Going To Brazil
11 Killed By Death
12 Ace Of Spades
13 Lemmy Speaks
14 Overkill
As you could guess, I already have a copy. They rocked! I've always been a big fan of Motorhead too. | | Where AmI wrote: | | I've been dying to hear from you how the Dallas show went, thank you, guidogodoy. I am waiting for pictures now, blurry and all
What sucks is that when people pay hundreds of dollars for the meet and greet, they get bullshit over the phone. Absolute crap, that you had to hide your camera!
Do you remember all the songs from the JP set and do you know well Motorhead to tell me which ones they played?
Testament are thrash. They're the coolest thrash around. I remember they weren't so heavy when I first listened to Souls of Black eons ago. They seem to get heavier with the years. (No pun. No pun at all.)
Wishing you a speedy recovery.. | | guidogodoy wrote: | | Ok, this might just rank up there with the "most metal thing" I have done (not really) but there is a pretty good story that goes along with the pictures. Obviously, the concert was great. VIP was funny as we got there early and, as many know, Guitardude and I had the great luck of getting seats one apart in row two. We said...sorry for the guy between us. Lo and behold, the first guy we meet? The guy between us!! LOL!!! What the hell kinda luck is THAT?! Still feel sorry for that fellow.
Obviously, got a camera into the venue. Called and they told us "no problem" the day of the event but, apparently, they didn't tell the staff as they were really cracking down on cameras. I took 124+ shots but many were blurry because I had to literally "whip it out" (Blazing Saddles, LOL!) and shoot without flash. Damn guys kept moving. At one point, Glenn looked right at me, struck a pose and then mouthed "did you get it?" Sadly, I didn't! Blurry!! Ah well.
Testament I had seen before and wasn't really interested but, as I was there, went down and caught their 30 min set. I liked it, actually. Almost flipped off my chair to catch a drumstick they threw, in fact (more on this subject in a sec). JUST missed it. Ah well. MOTORHEAD was freakin' awesome!! I have also seen them many a time but they were right on. Lemmy plays a bass like no one I have ever seen. Down and dirty rock and roll. Great!
I went out to people watch and met some great people. Some from here, some from the Q. People kinda identified me as a Priest fan and just introduced themselves. I got to hold a Glenn pick that someone caught at a previous concert (thinner than I would have imagined). Saw a poster from someone who entered into the poster competition here. HE should have won, IMO. Heaven and Hell was good but, of course, I am a diehard Priest fan. Caught a Tony I pick, though.
PRIEST was damn awesome. People have described the set better than I. I was just a headbanging fool. Spot on in vocals and, as always, the guitarwork was outstanding.
Ok, now the sad part...as a few of you know, I broke (at least) one rib! LOL!!! Priest fan that I am, I had to get the last shots with my camera at the finale. I stood up on my folding chair to snap a shot over the head of the guy in front of me and WHOOPS, over the back of the chair I went! Wish THAT picture had turned out! Me pointing up at the sky! LOL!!! Hell, those who know ribs know that it is like breaking a toe. Nothing to do but suck it up, eh? Barely hurts when you are dancing on cloud nine!
Moral of the story? I'd do it again in a heartbeat!! (I'd just wear better shoes...haaaaa!!!!!!) |

Yeah, I think (stressing THINK) I remember the entire setlist of all. JP played the exact set that has been posted here a number of times. No Death, no Sinner. EXACT set as has been posted in a number of threads here. Motorhead played the following:
01 Dr. Rock
02 Stay Clean
03 Be My Baby
04 Killers
05 Metropolis
06 Over The Top
07 In The Name Of Tragedy
08 Mickey Dee Drum Solo
09 In The Name Of Tragedy Part II
10 Going To Brazil
11 Killed By Death
12 Ace Of Spades
13 Lemmy Speaks
14 Overkill
As you could guess, I already have a copy. They rocked! I've always been a big fan of Motorhead too.

Thanks, I look back and see what a bad year that was-it was beyond terrible!
It was just strange finding that note, literally out of the blue.
Still didn't unpack the pots and pans, LOL. Been watching America's Next Top Model (getting in touch with my girly side) [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by spapad from Wednesday, August 27, 2008 7:00:16 PM) | | spapad wrote: | | Sorry for what happended to you while packing JerZ, That sucks to get suprised out of the blue by things that hurt. The worst part of moving is going through all your stuff to pack it up or see what you can throw out. I accumulated at lot of things in a couple years-mostly Nascar collectibles and movies. And books. How the hell did i get so many books?v And since when did the dogs get more boxes dedicated to them than I did? LOL
I found a note from my late friend back when we were in high school-that SUCKED. I started crying all over again-unpacking her picture was just as bad. I miss her so much - her mom too-she died 11 months to the day after. We were sisters-knew each other since we were 4-and our home lives both sucked ass growing up.
I'm pissed (or sad) my friend died so suddnely no one got a chance to say good-bye-she left behind a severely autistic kid who never even knew her-thats how bad the autism is...sigh-im done venting.
Thank God I have concerts and work to go to-get my mind off thinking about this shit. And I have pots and pans to unpack. |

Yes, I know all about it. Lisa manages to pump some for me to feed her each day before she leaves. It looks more painful than when Megan is actually feeding. Of course mine would be artificial, and filled with the milk she pumped. [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Vaillant 3.0 from Tuesday, August 26, 2008 11:54:54 PM)

Thanks for telling me Joe! Wow 3C would be a heat wave for the middle of winter in the Mountains of VA. But thanks to global warming, or whatever it is, we have not had a blizzard in 15 years. When you let the dog out and they jump of the porch and disappear in the snow and you have to rescue them that's some deep snow! The averaged Temp for the entire year is only 68F so those winter temps kill what is usually a very pleasant 80 to 90 F summer.
Like to hear about other places. [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by joedraper from Tuesday, August 26, 2008 1:57:34 PM) | | joedraper wrote: | | Ha ha ha ha ha that must've been so cool to see. Sounds like everybody had a fantastic time.

Hey Joe, cant wait to see the new addition to the family!, minus the poop of course. What worked best for me was walking the pup very often and use the words you use for those functions and just keep asking to pup if they have to do that. When they do if pour on the praise and say yeah way to go you just went _______(fill in blank)! Worked well with Bella, she will actually go almost on command, within two minutes. Just a thought.
Good luck! [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by joedraper from Tuesday, August 19, 2008 1:54:35 PM) | | joedraper wrote: | | Hey Metal Family!! How is everyone? I'm doing fantastic! It's been over 4 years since I had a dog so this is so cool. I forgot how much happier I am with a dog in my life (yes, that may sound lame but it's true). I've just been so happy since this little guy came along. He's supposed to be my son's puppy but he's way too attached to me. He even jumped in shower with me today.. cute as a button! |

Was able to give up all the junk food and get back into the 5am workouts, but damn that last one is tough. Especially since my metabolism will still let me get away with it. Hell, I'm even riding my stupid spinner bike for 30 minutes a day. Just not ready to give up my very last vice just yet I guess, but I'm still working on it. Haaa! Oh, you would have LOVED to have been there. Girlfriend at the time who was driving actually pulled over when the roof flipped off. Roof hit the back hatch (didn't break it by miracle, according to friends who "almost had it in their fingers but it broke free with the wind") and broke into the main street on a Sat night. What...llke we were going to go back and pick up the pieces?!? Gooooo!!!!!

Hmmm...time to assess the events to come in the next coupla weeks....lessee here...
....tomorrow's Friday (blessed be!!!)...got one more week of this horseshit bid package to go....new one starts August 24th...college kids start comin' back to both campuses next week... ...then...in 5 weeks time FROM the 24th ...we get to bid...YET AGAIN...once this asshole outfit figures out where to put 5-6 new runs that have been coughed up (like a hairball) from a ne'er-do-well associate transit outfit...and we keep whatever we pick until January. Union meetings will start cropping up soon, as our current contract expires on (of all frickin' dates) September 11th....and we's gon' have us a fight on our hands....

Not even for 6 pretty ones? Ah, can't say that I blame you. You'll have a blast.
Well, folks, 'bout that time. Calvin actually woke up and ran into the kitchen as I was scraping out the last bit of frijoles. Must have thought HE was getting a late-night snack!
Always a pleasure, my friends. Until the next, I bid you all a fond "boa noite" for now. |

Apparently, not where I work!!
I'll have to agree on the barter system... its alot more efficient...however, I still won't trade my JP ticket for 5 seashells. 12 hours a day? Isn't that illegal? Shame that one needs money, isn't it? My vote is that we all go back to the barter system. | | Vaillant 3.0 wrote: | | Oh, the usual...working twelve hours a day, listening to Priest, and getting ready for the big day at the end of this month: AUG. 30TH!!!!! I still can't believe how fast this month is passing by. Oh, well...the sooner that day comes the better!!!
So no trip to PA, then? Maybe you can save the ticket, and say you almost went there!! | | guidogodoy wrote: | | Nope. That is a very long drive just to turn around and do it in the opposite direction in less than a week, eh? Hate to see a good tix go to waste though....
How 'r things with you? (he asks while devouring his last meal before dog walking time) |
