During the early years of the band, KK bought a Flying V at a second hand shop. At the time that he considered buying it, another guitarist had his eye on it. In the end, KK got the V. Who was the guitarist who failed to acquire the Flying V?

He was the drummer on the 1974 Roger Glover album "The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast" which included David Coverdale, Dio, and glenn Hughes on vocals. It was supposed to be the soundtrack for an animated film but was then released as "Roger Glover and Friends" when the demo didn't pick up any interest as a film.
