I thought I remembered Cheap Trick playing last. I was wondering why the gig history(google) had Ac/Dc
playing last in the cities listed. Wheeling wasn't listed. From what little I can actually remember from it, it was
an awesome show. I knew of Cheap Trick so I remember more of their set than Ac/Dc's. It was basically the
setlist from live at Budokon. Rick Nielson playing that five necked guitar still stands out. I remember watching
Angus Young and thinking what the hell is wrong with that guy. Running around the stage, rolling around the stage,
and rocking the f*ck out on stage. (And that outfit?)(LOL) I remember the crowd going crazy when Bon Scott took
Angus out into the crowd on his shoulders while he jammed. Ac/Dc became my favorite band after that concert.
Then I saw Kiss a year later and they became my favorite band. Then I saw Priest two years later.....(end of story!)

We saw Dommin open for Lacuna Coil last summer. They were really great live! They blew all the other supporting acts right off the stage. We had never heard of them before either, but bought their CD after the show and had them sign it. I love a band that you can understand the lyrics live, even if you have never heard the songs before. That said, I just had to vote for Dommin. My fiancee and I saw them play support to HIM last weekend and they truly rocked everything - incredible band. I'd never even heard of them before we went and then they absolutely blasted my b******s off with quality. Amazing.
Anyone else around? My family and I are taking a siesta - everyone's knackered for some reason. Even the little one (who's usually active and lively from beginning to end of the day) is fast asleep right now... |

ICED EARTH's "Box Of The Wicked" will be released in Europe on April 26 (three days earlier in Germany) and May 18 in the U.S. via SPV/Steamhammer Records. The set is limited to 10,000 copies worldwide.
While ICED EARTH's 1998 album "Something Wicked This Way Comes" provided a general overview of the story guitarist/songwriter Jon Schaffer has been conceptualizing for well over a decade, the saga was fully brought to life with the release of the back-to-back conceptual albums "Framing Armageddon" and "The Crucible of Man". The albums provided answers to mysteries the previous releases created, and the timeliness of the story in today's world were guaranteed to keep people thinking and guessing. Schaffer's ability to convey the central themes and events of the story without always revealing exactly "why" characters' decisions are made and "how" events come to pass will keep fans of the saga coming back as future mediums for the "Something Wicked" storyline are revealed.
The whole saga is now included in this high-quality hardcover boxset (height 13 cm, depth 4.5 cm, width 14.5 cm) featuring the original digipak CDs "Framing Armageddon" and "The Crucible Of Man" as well as the original digipaks EPs "Overture Of The Wicked" and "I Walk Among You". Not really...
The deluxe version of British Steel coming out has the remastered album, a Live DVD with bonus stuff on it, and a Live CD which is either the audio from the DVD or quite possibly a 1980 concert......... thats yet to be confirmed.
Thats a lot of extra stuff for a "reissue".
The Iced Earth thing is a cash in, the British Steel thing isnt. 2/3 of it is new stuff. Metal is better than punk, but comparing the new Darkthrone to the new GBH...GBH wins easily.

Reunited Massachusetts hard rockers EXTREME will release the "Take Us Alive" live CD and DVD on April 23 in Europe and May 4 in the U.S. via Frontiers Records.
In 2008, following a 13-year hiatus, EXTREME returned to the stage for its "Take Us Alive" world tour, which encompassed 75 cities and multiple continents in support of the band's new record, "Saudades de Rock".
This recording captures EXTREME at the peak of its game with a renewed enthusiasm led by Gary Cherone's spellbinding stage performance and powerful vocals, Nuno Bettencourt's ferocious guitar, Pat Badger's flawless bass and Kevin Figueiredo's pounding drums and spot-on back-up vocals.
This brilliant performance was recorded on the last night of their tour at the House of Blues on August 8, 2009 in EXTREME's hometown of Boston.
"We wanted to do something really special for our hometown fans that were there for us since the beginning… the club days," states Nuno. "It was the last night of the tour and we couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than by bringing it back to where it all started… Boston."
The concert showcases material from all five EXTREME albums and exhibits the band's broad stylistic abilities. Features include a blistering rendition of the LED ZEPPELIN-minded "Comfortably Dumb", the scorching "Play With Me", the funked-up "Cupid's Dead" as well as the anthemic "Get The Funk Out". Songs like EXTREME's #1 hit "More Than Words" and the Top 5 single "Hole Hearted" highlight the crowds enthusiasm and loyal support their fan base has had for this beloved foursome.
"As much as we enjoy recording, for me, I've always loved playing live for the fans," Cherone says. "We couldn't wait to get out there and play for our fans."

I'm sure metal fans will be lining up at the doors of record stores worldwide when this highly anticipated cd is released. First time I've heard of Gary Cherone being described as spellbinding. Maybe he wrote that press release himself.

Though now I come to think on it, maybe this will give them a much-needed musical change of direction for the new album. Ultra Beatdown was okay, but it was just a watered-down version of Inhuman Rampage. I'm still a little shocked though. I'm sure they can find a good singer, but can they find someone with the same onstage attitude? The best thing about DF gigs (when they're not too drunk to play properly!) is that they have a feel-good, not-very-serious atmosphere, more like a party than a concert. I don't want them to lose that. [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by kiamat from Monday, March 08, 2010 11:52:21 PM) | | kiamat wrote: | | WHHHAAAAATTTT!!!

Judas Priest's British Steel: The Legacy Edition
Sony Music has set a May 11 release date (one day earlier internationally) for "British Steel: Legacy Edition", the limited deluxe expanded edition of JUDAS PRIEST's classic 1980 album "British Steel".
"British Steel" was the sixth studio album by JUDAS PRIEST. Released on April 14, 1980 and produced by Tom Allom, "British Steel" was recorded at Tittenhurst Park in England — a mansion owned at the time by former THE BEATLES member Ringo Starr, and previously owned by John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
"British Steel" has long been considered one of metals all-time classics. It was with this release that PRIEST truly broke through to the masses, with a pair of tracks that have become fixtures on rock radio — the enduring anthems "Breaking The Law" and "Living After Midnight". But like all classic albums, there is not a single weak track detected on "British Steel", as evidenced by such standouts as the perennial concert highlight "Metal Gods", as well as "Rapid Fire", "Grinder", "United" and "The Rage", among others.
In 2009 JUDAS PRIEST performed the "British Steel" album in its entirety for the first time ever as part of their 30th anniversary USA tour. A filmed recording of the show on the August 17, 2009 at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida will be included in both the limited-edition deluxe and deluxe releases. The show was captured in front of a vibrant American audience and in full 5.1 surround and stereo sound. Known for their high-energy and spectacular stage shows the band played the entire "British Steel" album in sequence as well as a number of other well-know tracks from their catalog.
The live concert was mixed in stereo and 5.1 by the original "British Steel" producer Tom Allom. In addition, the DVD will include the bonus content of "The Making Of British Steel", a 30-minute doc featuring the four original band members. This new DVD brings the live PRIEST experience like no other live recording.
"British Steel: Legacy Edition" will come in two formats:
* Limited edition deluxe three-disc to include original album, live DVD and live CD (***TO BE CONFIRMED***)

Agree Beck. I was not happpy with Maiden's last album. I don't like it when bands tour their new album before anyone has had a chance to hear it. I have no doubt Maiden can deliver, we'll just have to wait and see if they do | | kiamat wrote: | | In the end, I guess we need to hear some music before making proper judgements on it. I believe Maiden can deliver the goods, but who knows? Anyway, now the album details are out there should be a single along fairly soon. (Can't wait! ) | | J.D. DIAMOND wrote: | | Blah. DIAMOND wrote: | | Jimmy is right,Maiden are good live but the question is do you really want to go to the show if you don't like the new album? Because with this new album they will play at least 4 songs off it,then they will be playing at least a few songs off each album you don't like already,so that leaves very little room for old tracks, yes of course they will be playing old tracks but how many of them? If the new album sucks,I would recommend NOT going to the show and not supporting them with $money.
I hate the Nostradamus album and I actually bought tickets to see Priest before I heard the Nostradamus album, after I heard the entire Nostradamus album I sold my tickets as I was pissed off and would still do it again.Judas Priest are my favorite band yes,but since they put out a shit album it "ruined it for me" so much to the point of I don't even want to see them!! Fuck em' if they can't put out a killer album. To thoese who think Nostradamus is a "good" LP good for you guys(Guido and others) but for me it fucking "SUCKS" and I don't want to see "that" tour. Same goes with Maiden,if this new album sucks I will NOT be seeing them live.FUCK Em'.
If this next Priest album 'sucks" then I won't be buying the album or seeing the show, fuck em'. They are my favorite band but that doesn't mean they can do no wrong,I'm not a poser fanboy like the idiotic Brian -Maiden-fan-boy- Evans is.If Priest delivers I will support them,if they don't then fuck them.

Maybe the cover will have Eddie in one of those gay Star Trek uniforms with his phaser set to "irritate". Maybe the album cover will have both of them fighting to the death! That'd be pretty cool. It would make that thing much more tolerable. As far as the actual concert goes, we shall see. Maybe...maybe not....leaning toward maybe... | | J.D. DIAMOND wrote: | | I know Vail, its not a "bad picture" its just that its NOT Eddie, just like on the Fear Of The Dark album, that to me ws not "Eddie",and now this picture the least like Eddie out of any Iron Maiden album covers, unless its a decoy and the real Eddie is in the album cover somewhere? I don't know but if what we are seeing is the album cover than it sucks because its not Iron Maiden. And after 30 years "The Final Frontier" is the best title they can come up with? That title alone sucks.I have a huge vibe that this album is going to be terrible, but Brian Evans(the dumb one,not the original one)already loves it even though he hasn't heard it yet, because he has no opinions just fanboyism.Hey Brian.."FUCK YOU". | | Vaillant 3.0 wrote: | | BLEAH!!
