@grinder...... Duh.....dude I LOVE Rocka Rolla and every song I mentioned! My point is this song is not much different. If any of those songs were released today,you would be whining calling them weak too. Some Heads Are Gonna Roll.....yes,I bought Defenders in 1984 when it came out when I was 14.....been into Priest scince 1981 religiously so dont need the history leason guy....

If Some Heads Are Gonna Roll came out right now instead of 1984 YOU along with other wankers would call it "weak". Hands down.,especially if you think this track is weak. I dont think SHAGR is weak,but you would. Pain And Pleasure....same thing dude...yes I love that track....but you would be bitching right now if they released Pain And Pleasure instead of Redeemer Of Souls had it wasnt released in 1982. The song isnt fucking "weak"....every Priest track isnt Painkiller.Think about it bud.

 @ diamond

You are clearly delusional. Rocka Rolla was not boring, just wasn't produced very well. The songwriting was inspired, the guitar work was incredible, and no one on the planet could match Rob's vocals. Maybe you don't like it because it is not "metal" but Priest wasn't a metal band back then. Dreamer Deceiver boring? Rock Hard, Ride Free? Put down that pipe because it is destroying your brain. And for the record I didn't call the new song boring, I called it weak. Which is exactly what it is.

Opps, that doulble post is,once again,a tribute to Jimmy Two Times ha.

You know thinking about it,like the track or not if its still boring,then half of Priest's discography is
too,this band is half boring according to half its fanbase lofl.

I'm glad K.K. went golfing,and the rest of the band continued to put out classic metal. Especially at this age.... If Downing would of stayed and got along with the rest of the band,then this album would of been Nostradamus #2.

If this song is weak and boring,then so is the entire Rocka Rolla lp...Epitaph,and Dreamer Deceiver,Side 2 of Sin After Sin,White Heat,Killing Machine,The Rage...Desert Plains,Pain & Pleasure,Rock Hard Ride Free,Hell Patrol,Leather Rebel....A Touch Of Evil....these are just a few to name that....if these songs I mentioned were released right now instead of Redeemer Of Souls,then this entire forum would be bitching far worse....thats a fact

 I think KK had the right idea. Just wish the rest of the guys did the same thing. This song is so weak, and this is the title track? It sounds like a leftover from Halfords Made of Metal album, which wasn't very good either. Sad day indeed. Call for the Priest.....I'm dying.

SOMEBODY LET ME KNOW WHEN "REDEEMER OF SOULS" FIRST POSTED ON YOUTUBE

 "Sometimes in the past we may have come under fire for being too adventurous musically - so we have listened!! From start to finish 'Redeemer of Souls' is 13 songs of pure classic Priest metal!!" - GLENN TIPTON

[J.D. DIAMOND] Tuesday, April 29, 2014 12:07:20 PM
yeah,your over doing it. Lol.

We shouldn't of even got this record anyways,they should be on vacation but they thought we needed another heavy metal album?

You know,this may not be Priest's best out put but I'm not sure many realize how lucky we are to even be able to critisize a new Priest song in the year 2014.

not saying that because of this,people should like the track,but the actual gripes about the Redeemer track I think are over rated...Priest has tons of songs that are like this and its not "Parental Guidance" .

[Budred] Tuesday, April 29, 2014 10:43:46 AM

@JD

Sorry man but I think you are misunderstanding me a little.

Just for clarity, I am not hurt by what you said. I temper my comments not because I'm worried what others will think of my opinion but because I do "not" want to be confrontational anymore. I try to word my posts so i don't sound that way. I am not trying to force myself to like this track, I just wanted to make sure in my head that I didn't like it before I said so. I don't think it is a terrible song I just like heavier stuff. When I commented about not influencing others based on my opinions that was just humorous sarcasm because I know that most here do not share my views and I'm not trying to get anyone to. My goals here (now) are to post occasionally, speak my mind without offending, And no more confrontation even if it means backing down from it. I don't try to force myself on anyone like I used to either and more than a few posts in a day make me slow it down so I don't saturate a thread. I'll probably make this my last post for awhile because I feel I'm overdoing it now.

[J.D. DIAMOND] Tuesday, April 29, 2014 6:07:34 AM
According to Rolling Stone.com,Redeemer Of Souls has "13" tracks on it,and not "18" which blabbermouth says it has. Hopefully it only has 13 tracks.
[J.D. DIAMOND] Tuesday, April 29, 2014 3:50:03 AM
@Budred....I wouldn't make a point to watch what you post so others "may" feel something negative because of your post expressing your disliking of the new track and feel that way too......if they need "your post" to make up thier minds,then they have no business having thier "own" opinion lol.....fuck em" ha. You have every right to post your opinion,even if its something somebody diesnt want to hear.....including myself.....yeah...fuck em" lol.

It is what it is.....shit for all I know,I may hear the rest of the album and only like this song! If thats what ends up happening,then so be it...I will not force myself to loke anything,not saying that you are....just sayin....I do like this track though...totally what icecreamman had said it reminded him of a track like Hell Patrol thats inbetween to other metal classics ect....but thats just a vision....we will all have to wait and see.

Im just lucky so far that I like this track more I listen to it,the better it gets....just really wanted to hear a good track with SIMPLICITY. Hail Redeemer Of Souls and hail the almighty Priest!!!!
[Budred] Tuesday, April 29, 2014 3:17:47 AM

just saw I didn't erase @everyone when I edited my post to JD. I was expressing displeasure with a track (now 2, heard another last night I didn't care for) from another band I like. I didn't name them last night or now only because I didn't want to detract from the Priest discussion. There are a few people posting that I haven't seen post before, I thought that was cool so I deleted that part.

[Budred] Tuesday, April 29, 2014 2:33:20 AM

@JD, who said anything about being hurt. I was smiling and I made a point to watch what I post so others wouldn't feel that way. Things don't bother me like they used too. I try to temper myself and express myself and then if people disagree so be it.

[Scramble] Monday, April 28, 2014 11:57:52 PM
The new song is good, I'm not blown away like the first time I heard the song "Nostradamus". It's more like the feeling I got when I heard "Revolution". I know they can do better.

[J.D. DIAMOND] Monday, April 28, 2014 8:05:12 PM
Icecreamman ....Thats what I visioned 100%. You and I were taken back to hints of the Painkiller album's style when hearing this new track...consider ourselves LUCKY! This track totally blows away Revolution by far!
[J.D. DIAMOND] Monday, April 28, 2014 7:51:44 PM
@Budred,
Ha,yeah its all good dude.Didnt mean anything by it,just that I figured you wouldnt like this track....when ever Evans and hellrider posts,they will not like it either,just from your posts over the last few years is why I predicted that statement. If you only like 3 tracks from Painkiller,then actually AOR and this new lp didnt have much of a shot with you in the first place,which is "ok" dude,no need to get butt hurt about it. I also predict HRMG will not be thrilled with this either based on her demands for her ideas of what to expect to hear,same with spa...its all good man,we all cant like the same things.

Members I did predict to like this song was Guido,Head Banger,Becks...so I wasnt off by much lol. Hey,I was on the other side of the fence when Nostradamus was out....lucky for me I really like Redeemer Of Souls....I just cant wait to hear the rest....18 songs....I hope 4 are instrumentals.....
[Budred] Monday, April 28, 2014 7:17:24 PM

@JD

I couldn't help but smile at that. ...knew Budred wouldn't like it. My mind wasn't made up before I heard it.

Just listened to Redeemer of Souls. Hmmm...I dunno. It's heavy, alright. Not a big fan of the vocals, though. Doesn't draw me into the story of the Redeemer. At least not yet. Maybe after a few more listens?

My big worry, though, is the rumored amount of tracks in this new album. 17-18 songs?!? How many will be throw-away songs? Motorhead's latest album, Aftershock, has 14 songs in it. I can think of at least 5 that they could've eliminated from the final product. BUT! Who knows. We'll have to wait another three months for the Redeemer to arrive.
