Soy, as a life long bears fan, you're absolutely correct...i was screaming at the top of my lungs when i saw that 'squib kick'...coaches error cost us the game...all that being said...i have to tip my hat to the falcons rookie quarterback...he played one hell of a game today...how about 3rd and 1, couldn't score...4th and 1, couldn't score...we had our chances for points earlier and didn't capitalize...but we still could/should have won today...

Watched / watching them both. Cowbowy got a GOOD break with that "no - fumble" and now this...a turnover in their favor.

I just watched that game, too. Unbelievable. But what a finish, huh? Then the Cardinals/Cowboys come on and what do we see???, a kick off ran back for a touchdown. Wow!!!!

N.F.L. HAS GOT TO BE THE LEAGUE OF BONEHEADS THIS YEAR...I HAVE SEEN MORE STUPID,STUNNED,IDIOTIC,COACHING DECISIONS THIS YEAR THAN I CAN REMEMBER FOR A WHILE...THE CHICAGO BEARS FIGHT BACK TO TAKE A 2 POINT LEAD OVER ATLANTA WITH 11
SECONDS LEFT IN THE GAME...NO PROBLEM RIGHT?...THEN WHAT DOES LOVIE SMITH CALL FOR?...A SHORT KICKOFF!!!...ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?...ATLANTA RUNS BACK THE BALL,GET'S EXCELLENT FIELD POSITION AUTOMATICALLY,COMPLETES ONE PASS,GET'S OUT OF BOUNDS WITH ONE SECOND LEFT AND KICKS THE WINNING FIELD GOAL!!!...YOU KICK THE BALL DEEP,CHANCES ARE YOU'RE GONNA PIN THEM REASONABLY DEEP AND WIN THE GAME...
I'M NOT A BEARS FAN,I'M NOT A COACH,BUT I'D HAVE MADE THE RIGHT DECISION HERE...HOW STOOOOOOPID IS THIS MAN?
I JUST HOPE THE BEAR FANS ARE SMART ENOUGH TO REALIZE THAT THIS LOSS IS COMPLETELY THE FAULT OF THE COACH!

[Deep Freeze] Sunday, October 12, 2008 10:17:01 AM
Well, tonight is a BIG night. Although it is not the end of the series, it really is a "must win" for the Dodgers. I anticipate a great game. It is all so very exciting!!! This is a wonderful time of year.
[ron h] Saturday, October 11, 2008 4:48:01 PM
I think it's all about getting hot at the right time and staying hot at the right time...it's a long series, first one to four and the Phillies aren't there yet!!  Yet another opportunity to Keep The Faith!!

OK, I am starting to consider serious bodily harm!!! What the hell happened to the Dodger team that smoked the Cubs in three straight?!?!?!!??!?!? Pitching is practically non-exisitent! I am in shock. I am frustrated. This is unbelievable.
[WhiskeyWoman] Friday, October 10, 2008 7:39:06 PM

Hmph...  well, if The Flames perform as well as they did last night ...

All I have to say is, "Look out!"

[Deep Freeze] Friday, October 10, 2008 3:25:35 PM
Speaking of my beloved Dodgers, we are just minutes away from the start of game two!!!! I am in my chair, ready to go! Let's hope we do a little better than last night. The wheels came off BIG time!!!! OUCH!!! Put on your Dodger Blue and crank up the HDTV!!!! It's TIME for DODGER BASEBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scorpion...what can I say  some things just aren't meant to be  I wish I knew this from the beginning  I had a whole different view of what the family passes down from generation to generation would be  instead, I was given the burden of being a loveable loser

I have no choice but to root for the Dodgers now, maybe I can rest easy knowing we lost to the eventual world champs...but we both know that's crap

WELL RON, I GUESS WE BOTH LOST OUT.  NOW I'D LOVE TO SEE THE DODGERS BEAT BOSTON IN THE WORLD SERIES. BUT I'D ALSO LOVE TO SEE THE RAYS GET THERE.

WHEN SCOTT KAZMIR WAS DRAFTED BY THE METS HE PLAYED IN CONEY ISLAND IN BROOKLYN ABOUT 5 MINUTES FROM MY HOUSE. ME AND THE KIDS GOT TO KNOW HIM FAIRLY WELL. HE'S A GREAT GUY (KID).

THEY CYCLONES HAVE A CLUB FOR THE KIDS AND KAZMIR WOULD COME OUT WITH THE KIDS ON WEEKEND MORNINGS BEFORE A GAME A SPEND A FEW HOURS WITH THEM.

The Lions already made their best move of the year by getting rid of Matt ????
They do have some talent, but your boy #14 (Williams) needs to quit crying and start catching the darn ball (that might help his team!!)

The Blackhawks are on there way, boys!!  Be prepared!!

You remind me of a game played some years ago, and if memory serves me correctly, the game was played in Cleveland.  It was, I think, nickel beer night, and they were also giving away replica bats.  What a combination, 25-30,000 liquored up fans with wood baseball bats.  I'm a little sketchy on the details, but was a corker!!!

The game is a make up game from like April or so.  It was delayed for a few hours because of rain.  That may have a role in why there's a lot of empty seats.
Now, if they happen to win today and the 1 game playoff against the Twins isn't a full house, then that would really be messed up.

2-1 FOR THE TIGERS (PITCHER FOR CHICAGO JUST THREW IT AWAY GOING TO FIRST) TOP OF THE 6th.

[scorpion01] Monday, September 29, 2008 8:25:52 AM

CONGRATULATIONS RON AND JEANINE AND TO ALL WHO HAVE A ROOTING INTEREST IN A TEAM IN THE PLAYOFFS. IT WILL BE FUN. THERE ARE A LOT OF POTENTIALLY GOOD MATCHUP. WE STILL NEED TO WAIT ONE MORE DAY, BUT:

HOCKEY BEGINS.

HOW IRONIC! IN THE YEAR BOTH SHEA AND YANKEE STADUIMS ARE BEING SHUT DOWN, NEITHER THE METS OR YANKEES MADE THE PLAYOFFS.

That was an entertaining series.  We wound up splitting the 4 games, but both teams showed up with offense and some pitching and fielding (and of course Santana's single, which I've never seen quite like that before).  You're only a game out of 1st now, not sure who Philly is playing this weekend.  We're up against the Brewers now in Mil., should make for a high energy playoff atmosphere for the 3 games.  Good luck to you and we'll see you in the playoffs!!!

A BROKEN BAT GROUND BALL TO SECOND BASE BY JOHAN SANTANA THAT BECOMES A HIT BECAUSE IT HITS THE BARREL OF THE BROKEN BAT.

MAN ON THIRD WITH NO OUTS  INNINGS IN A ROW IN A TIE GAME AND CAN'T SCORE.

COMING BACK FROM 3 RUNS DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF A RAIN STORM.

WHAT A TREMENDOUS SERIES. I KNOW THE CUBS DIDN'T PLAY ALL THEIR REGULARS, BUT IT WAS FUN TO WATCH.

WHAT A GREAT MATCHUP IT WOULD BE IF WE CAN GET IN THE PLAYOFFS.

THE BREWERS JUST WON WITH A WALKOFF GRANDSLAM.

THIS IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT.

Maybe a weekend trip, I'll go to a game with you.  But it's gotta be a Mets game and you'd have to at least wear a Mets cap.

The surrounding neighborhood (Wrigley is smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood) and establishments have plenty to offer as well.

I think we both agree that the All Star game rule is ignorant, but it is what it is, no excuses, right???  Some team from the NL has to step up and bring the title back to the senior circuit!!!  If not my team, maybe yours can do it.

YES, IT SHOULD BE A GOOD SERIES, ALTHOUGH I THINK THE METS WILL BE MORE DESPRITE. CUBS SHOULD CLINCH HOME FIELD THROUGH THE PLAYOFFS BY THEN.

EXECPT FOR THE WORLD SERIES BECAUSE OF THE STUPID RULE THET THE LEAGUE THAT WINS THE ALL STAR GAME GETS HOME FIELD IN THE WORLD SERIES.

Go Cubs Go
Go Cubs Go
Hey Chicago what do you say
The Cubs are gonna win today
They really have a team that can get to the WS, and maybe even win it!!!

Die hard Cub fan, but NOT a hater, Brewers have been a formidable rival since they switched Leagues, and I hope it never changes!!

Scorp, it doesn't matter who we face in the WS, but I would love to face the White Sox.  They had their little party after '05.  If the Cubs win it all, we'll be partying for a decade, hell, Chicago might not even survive a Cubs win (you heard the story of what Mrs. O'Leary's cow did, right?  Amplify that by about 5 million!!! lol).

I do hope to see the Mets in the NLCS (would like the chance to break THAT curse as well.

Good Luck Mets!!!  (we're facing off this week for 3 games at Shea)
[scorpion01] Saturday, September 20, 2008 11:23:13 PM

Congratulations even though they are my teams #1 rival.  I did enjoy that no hitter the other day (was played in our stadium).  The Brewers have been going down hill fast.  So, good luck to the Cubs, hope they go all the way now that my team is pretty much out of it.

So I hear.  Not liking that very much !  Ha !  I may not like how he handled the situation, but I'll never deny that the man can play.

Tim - that is very cool!  Very nice to get that.  This past weekend did not look so good for the Packers but the Jets first quarter looked pretty good.......

Guess what my surprise from my boss was this morning.  An autographed football from Tom Brady !  We did some work for him a few months back.  My boss told me he wasn't able to get an autograph.  He not only got the ball signed, but got a case for it too !

At least we won't have to worry about this happening anymore  .  .  .  but maybe Brett better take a good look ?

I don't think there will be much to cheer about with the Patriots latest aquisition, we like to collect old guys with a bit left in the tank :

BOSTON (TICKER) —Veteran free agent safety John Lynch apparently has found a new home.

Lynch, who asked to be released from the Denver Broncos rather than accept a diminished role, has signed with the defending AFC champion New England Patriots, according to the Boston Globe.

Now I've heard it all.  Chad Johnson on the Bengals wants to legally change his last name to "Ocho Cinco" so he can wear it on his jersey without getting fined by the league !  Does this guys ego have no boundaries ?

It's cool.  It was good to see the Packers fans get behind Rodgers last night.

Ooh sorry Tim, you and Healer are Patriots fans.  They are a great team but I must cheer for Brett.  Hopefully we can still get along during football season?

Holy Shit !   Major wreck at Watkins Glen.  Go Marcos Ambros !  I wish he was still racing V8 Supercars.  It's not the same without him.
[TIMBONI] Sunday, August 10, 2008 2:11:33 PM
Damn !   Now he's in the same division as my beloved Patriots.         The Jets were always a "thorn in their side", but now they could be a ligitimate threat.
[Jeanine] Thursday, August 07, 2008 7:20:19 PM
Go Jets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  My prediction is they will have more than four wins this year.

I feel sorry for Freeze.  He's a Dodger fan.  As if there's not enough drama in L.A., now there's Manny.  I think without his attitude around the team can get back on track.

I love him, but even I think this is a bit much :

Finals MVP Paul Pierce, who recently spent three days at a ball camp in Madrid, is making, ahem, news about what he said to a Spanish reporter. The money translation, via RedsArmy: "Q: Is Kobe really the best player in the world? Pierce: I don't think Kobe is the best player. I'm the best player. There's a line that separates having confidence and being conceited. I don't cross that line but I have a lot of confidence in myself." Surprisingly, Spurs fans seem more upset by this than actual Lakers fans. (Update: OK, Lakers Nation is pretty upset, too.)

MEEESTER FAVRE,MAKING SARCASTIC REMARKS ABOUT HIS 'LEGACY' WITH THE PACKERS ..
REGARDLESS HOW THIS FIASCO TURNS OUT NOW,GOING ON FOX (THERE'S A RESPECTABLE NETWORK ) AND ACTING LIKE HE IS IN DIVORCE COURT (IDIOT) HIS CAREER WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED NOW WITH THE ATTACHMENT OF HOW HE BEHAVED TOWARDS THE END OF IT....EXTEREMELY STOOOOOOOOPID MOVE FAVRE. ....BY THE WAY,NEVER FIGURED OUT HOW YOU GET "FARV" WHEN IT SEEMS IT SHOULD BE PRONOUNCED THE WAY IT IS SPELLED...OH WELL ANOTHER ONE OF THE GREAT MYSTERIES OF THE WORLD!...
[Jeanine] Thursday, July 24, 2008 10:00:34 PM
I hope it is not true either.  Something has to happen soon.  I heard Tampa was interested in him but I think Gruden already has 5 QB's on his roster at the moment.
[TIMBONI] Wednesday, July 23, 2008 11:18:41 PM
Don't get me wrong.  I completely respect the man and his abilities as an athlete.  I just don't like the behind the back tactics he seems to be using.  To the "outsider" it looks like he was trying to get out of a contract and go for the top dollar using the " I'm retiring" story.  Trouble is, he's played the " I love Green Bay " card too many times.  As it appears now, he's a two faced liar and after all these years I really hope that it's NOT true.

Well, this is what I think, it does seem like a huge soap opera which has gotten ridiculous, but, I don't completely blame Brett for it.  It is Brett and Ted Thompson.  Whatever happens to Brett I will be ok with it.   If he stays retired, so it shall be but today I did hear 8 teams may have an interest in him, Tampa in particular.  I will watch him in another uniform and I wish the Packers well with Aaron Rodgers.  If Brett stays retired, good for his family.  You can't blame a guy for trying (to come back). This would be his last chance to do so, so maybe this is his last hurrah so to speak.  I still love him.

It just keeps getting dumber :

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) - Brett Favre knows how to call an audible. A phone call could be another matter.

Favre made “repeated” calls to a pair of Minnesota Vikings coaches using a cell phone issued by the Green Bay Packers, according to a story in Tuesday’s Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Citing sources, the newspaper reported that the nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback made numerous calls to both Vikings coach Brad Childress and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell.

Green Bay officials learned of the phone calls by checking the phone records, according to the Journal Sentinel.
