He's pretty much a lap cat. He always lays on the wife and when she's not here he'll lay on me.
Each night when we go to bed he follows us up. He doesn't get up until we do.(...or he'll lay there a few hours after were up.)(LOL) [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by zomby from Tuesday, September 14, 2010 12:26:38 AM) | | zomby wrote: | | hi budred is your cat like a cuddily kind weve got 2 ferril cats they dont seem to like anybody even when asleep im sure they have 1 eye on you ready to move away and theyere kind of skittish and always on the move |

I have the Same Experience with our cat. He Was the neighbors, but he moved to our house. He is The best Cat. Does everything you described.
Great Picture [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Budred from Monday, September 13, 2010 8:55:14 AM) | | Budred wrote: | | Notice the paper on the printer. He has this thing about laying on paper. If my wife spreads

she had to take a picture. It's funny how he has everything hanging over yet he's still sleeping.
A couple quick facts about him.
He started as the neighbor's cat. She kept him outside. My wife set food out for him one day.
A couple of weeks later the neighbor lady is like "My cat just packed his bags and moved next door."
That was six years ago. He's still here.(LOL) He's the coolest cat too. He never claws anything. He's a
lap cat and sleeps with us everynight. He loves my wife, he's always on her. The best part is that he's
housebroken. We don't keep a litter box and he always goes outside. He'll sit by the door or top corner
of our couch when he wants out. Very quiet and mellow also. Basically everything you could want in a cat. | | joedraper wrote: | | lol that is one seriously cute kitty | | Budred wrote: | | Our cat doing what he does best.

BTW, thank you all for your words of comfort regarding Oprah my 'lil rat girl. (Yes, we do come up with crazy names lol? These two sisters wre Robyn and Oprah a kind of joke involving Dr Phil. Oprah was the big one and she'd hit the shit out of Robyn so we called her Oprah because she was more agressive lol. She turned out to be very sweet natured and was just putting her little sister in place. They loved each other and were great companions. I want to get two more but I need to think about wether it is too soon considering it really has only been a week and a bit since she died. I love the rats so much but it is getting heartbreaking that they die so soon. I mean, if you get 3 years it's a good run for them. This litle one was very precious.. Don't think I'm nuts but even the cat started to act weird after she died. He used to jump up and watch her in her cage.. He got specially closer to her after her sister died earlier this year. But then Yuda is a super cat and a legend in his own right here!
What is sadder for me is that loosing the last rat makes Hymne's death a bit more final for me. She always managed to get me to adopt rescue pets lol. She got the rats for her snake from a pet breeder but guilt got the better of her (the woman who she got them from made a huge scene about how she was so happy that they were going to be pets in a good home and not snake fodder lol) I can't believe it has been almost six moths since that day that changed my life. |

Sorry your rat friend has gone Joe. Tame rats are cute by nature and good to hold. Sweet little things. It is a shame they don't live long.
As for your friend. That will stay with you for a while before you can look back and remember the good things and smile. It takes a long while, but it will come. Not permanently but for the most you will be able to remember her with fondnesss and remember the times you shared with love. She would not have it any other way. With what I've seen of her personality, she would have more agreed to a party in her name with happiness and love, than a funeral. I think you know that. Perhaps he's just off romancing like a true alley cat.
Owned an alley cat as a child, and he did as he pleased. One morning, he came home all tore up. To the vet with him, as another tougher alley cat had torn into his neck. I could have cats back then, before the doctor discovered they were my downfall, and the reason I was sick constantly. I would not allow my mother to give him away though. We kept him till, at an old age, he disappeared and was never seen again.
His name was torn straight from the movie I knew as a child:
Thomas O"Mally the Alley Cat. Loved him. The only Cat I ever loved. It was so unnecessary. I pulled over but the dog ran away and I couldn't find it. I have no idea if it is alive or dead or how seriously it was injured. I am so pissed off with the dog's owners. I mean.. People, we're ment to look after them. They don't know any different. How can someone let their pet run free on a really busy road in peak morning traffic? Crazy shit. I called the vet to check if anyone brought in a dog matching it's description but nobody has. That just pissed me off even more. Craig was working in the area where the whole thing went down and he climbed up on the roof and didn't see any dog lying in the fields or surrounds so I suspect that it didn't die.. I really hope it didn't and I hope it isn't suffering anywhere. The damage to my car: R9 550.
People please, if you have dogs make sure they can't escape from your yard and never walk without a leash. If you see dogs in your area roaming and you can, stop your car, pick them up and take them to a shelter or vet so that they don't end up sufffering the same fate as the poor dog that I hit.
Still, people who have an IQ lower than that of the dog they adopt should not be allowed to own them. End of story.

Ok, anyone have a pet that does this? Lucy has in the past month or so started to make the weirdest backward sniffing sounds like a kid with a clogged nose that does not want to blow their nose? This big Snuff up sound. Anyone else's dogs doing that? Is it an alergy? I was just wondering. Might need to take her to the vet to see what is making her nose so upset. Any input would be apprcieated. |

Hi.. anytime!
I'm glad the vet has her on a drip, right now that's the best thing. I hope she'll be home in no time. It is so horrible when a pet gets seriously ill, specially when they're puppies still. But I'm sure with the vet and with all the love she's getting, she's got enough motivation to pull through this. I never got a chance to get my mother to purchase the rehydration sachets as Honey had to be taken back to the vet, has been put on a drip to stop her dehydration and we were told that she does indeed have the virus, It's full - blown and all she can do now is try to fight it. So far the vet says she's a fighter and still has the odd period where she is bouncy and seems energetic, so the vet is hopeful.
Thanks for the talk last night Joe, and for your support in this. You are a true friend. I'm sure Honey thanks you too :) |

Sorry to hear about the pup. Take good care of her, and I hope all goes well for you. I heard there are two very deadly viruses going around and even the slight possiblity that she picked up either one of these and we will lose Honey, the vet says there is no cure and a very slim chance of survival in a puppy of 8 weeks :( |

I'm sorry Honey is so sick blackshadow - Joes advice is excellent I think, I've had times with my cats where I've had to monitor them to ensure they get fluids, that will be the key thing with Honey. Visit your vet and get some of the rehydration mixture Joe mentioned. I hope she gets better soon! Listen, I know this is very scary but you need to ask your vet for a hydration mixture. You get this sachet of hydration stuff, it has electrolytes in it which is very important for a puppy that young who can't keep food down. It's call rehydrit I think. You need to keep her with you and every 15-30 minutes.. syringe some down her throat so that y ou know she's getting it in. Yuda was very, very ill and I believet hat hydrating until the virus passes is crucial. Please phone your vet now and ask. You're in my thoughts and prayers xxx. My dog needs to get a grip! When I go to sit on the couch, I don't care if she is half the house away, she miraculously turns up sitting exactly where my rear end is facing. I don't know how she does it! But she is always exactly where I want to sit on the couch, so I have to fuss with her and make her move. She fiegns indignity and grumps about, but always moves. What is it about her and MY spot on the couch?? lol I own that space! it's mine and she does it EVERY chance she gets.
