Great movie, currently playing on Sky TV over here. Watched it a couple of times in the last month or so. That gang that looked like a bunch of mimes is a crackup. Hardcore, violent, thuggish mimes. [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by guidogodoy from Thursday, April 29, 2010 2:13:05 AM)

I suppose so but I still feel that Wayans looked desperate to make ILC be about HIM and his brothers, especially in light of Carrey's obvious comic superiority. Had Wayans stayed behind the lens, as you mentioned, perhaps I would find it easier to praise him but , in my opinion, he shot himself in the foot by trying SO hard to overcome the MUCH better talent around him. At his start, the HBO shows were great but another career that just tanked! Same sort of setup, if you recall, though. His HBO specials gave the spotlight to those who were funnier than him. I think it was an appropriate dovetail to ILC at the time.

Yeah, I do recall that. I was never a huge fan of Townsend. I saw Meteor Man and Colloey High and thought they were awful.

Same could be said for the Robert Townsend vids / movies, I suppose. I really laughed at most but he got off on an "I am all full of myself" tangent that I couldn't stand. Anyone but me remember when he tried singing? He'd close every damn show with that nonsense! Meteor Man?!? ARRRHG!
Hollywood Shuffle did have a few high moments, though. Pimps closing in like zombies. LOL!
