Morning, folks! Ah, what a glorious Saturday morning here in Sin City!! Sunny, calm and mild!! My beloved Dodgers play at 1PM today and then I think I will take a large piece of a heretofore living, breathing, walking, feeling bovine and place it on a steel grill over red-hot coals and sear it for a few minutes, then cover it with some small fungus that has been warmed in a milk-fat substance and garlic and consume it all!!!! Hmmm, seems like a goal to me! Get in a licor store and get hammered trying to figure out what the best beer in the world is! Sounds like some b comedy movie stuff to me, but it'd stil be worth it, if it were to the sound of the Priest!

Because be it in Portugal, in the USA or Bangladesh, you've got to listen to the Priest while you're having your beer!

Sonic is very cool lol.
I had a PSP, but my husband decided to recharge the battery with a charger his workmate made (they're electronics technicians so fix electrical thingies lol). Not surprisingly the battery got killed, I was none too pleased. I told my husband he shouldn't have used a charger that wasn't from the factory itself. I also said if there was any justice in the world his workmates PSP would get fried too

When I return, I will rebut this one! PC games are at the forefront. I can tell you all how to emulate all older games, nintentdo, playstation, xbox, gameboy, PSP and ARCADE (my fav!!) on your PCs.

I argue the complete opposite. PC is the dynamic medium. Any console is dead in the water (EXCEPT Nintendo...THAT was a cool move!).

To be continued....after I soak myself....lol.

I have never been anywhere in my travels that can compare to American beers. Microbrews in most major cities and even my local bar in Detroit had some 350 beers from around the world. Most on tap. I live in nowhere TN and can STILL find most of what I want...(grrr....save for Sheaf Stout!!!!).

Brazil has this horrible concoction (could be the same you describe) called "malzbier." I ask for a dark beer and they give me this sweet (as in diabetic level) SWILL! BLEAH!!! Horrible! Never seen it in Portugal but I am wary having tasted it once!

I still claim that we are the country that truly embraces beer. From all countries and microbrews. Most of you will never have a "Goose Island", an "Old Rasputtn" a "Sierra Nevada" (STOUT!!!). Canada is really the only country where I can TRY and find a store with some 350 beers from around the world. It takes some searching and a major city at that...

Here I am in nowhere, TN and I can drive 10 minutes to find a Xingu, a Mooshead, Becks, Sierra Nevada plus some fifty microbrews like Goose Island (312! Honkers!) or Detroit's Bell's Porter, Stout.

That rant off, me too...to bathe. Hasta la vista.

I guess you can tell by now I'm not too fond of Sagres ahah! And the moorish Castle's name in English would be something like the Castle of Sorrow. Awesome setting to imagina Sad Wings being played in! The pic of the priest cross on the rock just instantly reminded me of Excalibur!

Last one...this was taken by the Australians. As you say, great couple of guys you tend to meet on vacations. Father actually lived in Portugal and son came from Australia for a reunion.

Glad to have met them. Like that 9,900 foot shot of me in Utah, these were the only two guys I ever saw up that high in the coolest fog that overtook us. Still, JP on my mind!

Haha, It's always good when you've got someone to help you cheat. I once found a machine with it's tickets half hanging out... Worked out that i could pull them out., ended up with about 100 more tickets... hahaha.

LMFAO!!! We have Timezone in Australia. Me and my Brother used to sneak into the Evil Dead game... It had a black curtain around it because the game was rated MA 15+ ... Also, do you have that Big Bessie game?? You have to throw balls in her mouth (MEGA LOL) Her mouth opens and shuts... One of us would keep a look out and the other would climb up the side of the machine and feed the balls straight into her mouth so we would get maximum tix.
And I don't remember the name but it has the Circles like a dartboard, with holes going up the middle. Each hole has a different points score. We used to do the same... Climb up the side of the machine and drop the balls into the highest points score hole.
Of course we also cheated on that game with the snapping crocodiles... They slide out and you have to hit them with the batton... Screw that! We used to team up and take 3 crocs each.. hit them with our hands.

Hiked it, actually.

This is the higher castle from where I took a shot of the Moorish one.
Second is hiking down to the Moorish castle as you can see the fog come rolling in. Met a great father and son from Australia who showed me a great back route through the forest back to the city. Good couple o' blokes!

WOW! Very impressive view! Did you take a chopper tour or just over on the next peak? I'll have to load some more of my pictures from Greece and post them in Ron's Vacation thread to drag it back up the board.  I really like that photo!

Jumped after it? Not down THAT freakn' mountain! This is a shot from a castle that sits even higher. The previous close-up is from the highest point of the Moorish castle pictured below. Cool fog blew down on us. Couldn't see a foot in front of your face by the end of the day. Made it off that mountain post-haste.

Nope, wasn't the super bock. (Good beer, that....had a ton in Porto).

SAGRES! Damned if I didn't like it and I am quite the beer snob!

JP was with me the whole time (Moorish castle in Sintra pictured).

I talked Flora into saving up her points each time we went there so she could finally turn in all our points and get something decent. A thirty dollar item for a bout the 150.00 we would spend over a years time or so. Yes those places are such rip offs but so much fun!

I can't recall ever being to one (we don't have them here that I know of LOL) but I do know what you are talking about LOL. We have places like that called Timezone (not restaurants, just game places), where you go play games, get tickets and your tickets win you crappy things. That's a good strategy for getting more tickets LOL! Sounds like the sort of thing I would do haha.

Ever been to one of those "kid friendly" restuarants with all the games? I'm so bad I would cheat at whack a mole by having Flora and I hit them at the same time to get more tickets!

LOL I'm the same, I always end up pushing random buttons and woops I'm dead. My husband once hired out this game called Bishi Bashi OMG it was so hilarious and it was all about button bashing, the first game I've ever been any good at LMAO.

Becks, I know all about button bashing, that's why I get killed in the close quarter fighting with sticks and fists etc. Too much to do! Give me a gun and I'm fine!

Oh, I've been to Portugal a few times. LOVE it and highly endorse the trip to anyone who wants to go someplace safe, easy to get around via metro / trains and can get by speaking English.

NOT like Brazil, sadly.

That's great, just let me know and we'll have a couple of beers (I prefer beer to wine, as the only wine I like is Port and one bottle of that will have me going to sleep pretty fast LOL)

Or maybe I'll pester some of you guys there in the USA depending on what show I can make it on the summer tour.
