"skewers?" Ha! With no punctuation, i was more of the opinion that it was just some old guy mashing keys on a keyboard or, as Vail suggested, someone who just wanted to show his love for WOW=World of Warcraft. "Rapist's wit" is more like it. You certainly screw the English language. BWHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!

Would you like me to sing the "Interjection" song for you? From memory: "Interjections show excitement or emotion - are generally set apart from a sentence by an exclamation point or by a comma when the feeling is not as strong." Um..punctuation?

I shall begin to lobby to have Schoolhouse Rock put back on Saturday mornings just so you can brush up while scratching yourself, eating your Froot Loops in your PJs in front of the tube. Ah, I can see it now.... LOL!

Umm....YES!!!!!! And, it was more of an INTERJECTION and an exclamation... BAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (*Ah yes! The rapier wit of the "Old Timer" once again skewers his helpless prey!!!)

To what does that exclamation refer, Old Timer? Just Paul Simon or the amalgamation of this reliquia as a whole? LOL!!

Great guess but that limit was beaten FAR before the Nintendo 64.

It had a 64-bit processor (CPU). Like any good tech nerd, I have one in my collection. Not the whole system, just the processor.

One of the best (non-metal) opening lines ever: "You got me all screwed up!...."  No Wiki..name the song.

Some of the best Metal (well R&R) song lyrics come from Motorhead "Come on baby, bite my bone!" Name THAT! (#2 is easier than #1, to be sure).

Crap! I am gone a week+ and nobody can name the nationality of the third "Tenor?"

FFS, Plácido Domingo (aka "Peaceful Sunday") is a fight. Born in Madrid but moved to México, DF early in life. He speaks and sings as a Mexican but the Spanish like to claim him as their own. Same as the French like to do with Pablo Picasso.

BING! ¡Muy bien!

Josep (aka, José) Carreras was born in the same city as a good friend of mine...Barcelona. Thus, his native lanugage is Catalán, not Spanish (Castellano). The differences between the two languages are night and day. It is only slightly reflected in his birth name "Josep" vs. what most outsiders call him; José.

One tenor to go.

Oh, Man, as I used to say, Judas Priest is still a Killer band. By the very fact that they are still rockin' is no less than remarkable! Glenn Tipton is still one of my favorite guitarists, talk about an artist! I put the Painkiller video on my iPod and the things he does and the way he plays, is so amazing! Keep Jamming, Judas Priest, even us old timers love you!

[guidogodoy] Friday, May 11, 2012 8:48:22 PM
Ooooooh, so close! Off by a mere letter. It is Carreras. -1/3 of a point but given the full point as I like honesty and you should be rewarded, George Washington.

Ok, now how about nationalities. With that I mean what I stated. BIRTH place. I haven't kept up if anyone has declared other nationalities or not, thus the specification.

I'll start it off. Luciano Pavorotti was Italian!

"B-Boys Making With The Freak Freak"

...not gonna lie, I don't really care for the Beastie Boys but I like that song.
I think I have about 5 of their songs on my iPod.

Still sucks though if for no other reason than his age.

I had a scare about 4 years ago with my saliva gland (right side). I had calcium deposits causing stones
that would block the pathway of the gland. A couple of times my neck looked like it had a baseball stuck in it.
I developed a hard spot and had to have the gland removed and tested for cancer. About the same time I
saw pictures of Siskell (or Ebert)(forget which) some will know who I mean. He just had surgery because of this type of
cancer and his face and neck were f#cked. I was in tears for a couple of days thinking that this was my future and
would I rather be dead? I had the gland removed and the tests came back negative. I still think about it from time
to time especially when I read sh#t like this.

I know someone who died at the age of 42 fo this disease. She had been complaining to dentists about it, thought she must have an abcess. She was diagnosed too late. She lost half her face, half her jaw bone, had to endure skin grafts, and lost half her toungue. She lived cancer free for about two years and when they found it on check up again it was systemic.  She died within the year. Very aggresive, very nasty cancer.

Well THAT certainly sucks. As I said, all I heard is that he had a severe case. Never knew what type until today.

Anything proven to be the cause? Genetics, I am sure, but smoking? Drinking? Fighting for your right to party?

Very young age.

Damn, this should be the obit thread. Just heard MCA (Adam) from the Beastie Boys just died.

That is a great loss. True innovators of rock and rap (plus funny as hell videos) along with Run DMC. Old school white guys that, as a band, wiped many off the map.

"No Sleep till Brooklyn," "Intergalactic," "Brass Monkey," and the classic "Fight for your Right to PAAAARTY!" (Intergalactic was the most innovative vid, IMO.)

Their breakthrough hit deserves an imbed for the youngsters. RIP MCA

Sometimes we do more than shake a fist. BEWARE!!!
[Vaillant 3.0] Wednesday, November 23, 2011 12:08:28 AM
Hmmm. This one is starting to show the classic "shaking fist", a demonstration of anger and aggression toward the whippersnapper foolish enough to invade his territory.

...

oopsies.
[guidogodoy] Wednesday, November 23, 2011 12:04:03 AM
Fist shaking too. Especially at young whippersnappers.

[Vaillant 3.0] Tuesday, November 22, 2011 11:58:23 PM
Aha! One of them has woken up from his slumber and has resumed his journey. As a whippersnapper, I must go and observe his behavior from a vantage point that is very far away. If he spots me he will most likely try to throw his canes and dentures at me. Old-timers also have a tendency to yell at whippersnappers that invade their territory.

Glad the only celebs I have ever met were David Gest and "Bosley" from Charlie's Angles. LOL!

I commend you for that and I'm sure he had respect for you because of it.
I would have treated him the same. I just liked him so much that if I saw him regularly
I would have to of asked just once. Good for you tor not asking. Take care.

I never asked him for his autograph for the same reason I never told my fellow workers when he would come in for a take out order. I never put "Denver" on the ticket either. His wife would call and ask for me because she knew I wouldn't rat him out.
It was obvious he liked his privacy, and I respected him too much to cause him unwanted attention. He was not well. However, on occassion, he did public appearances and I could have gone to one I suppose, but I never did get around to it. Guess I thought I'd have more time to do so.

no one knew of his "hobbies" back then, and everyone was shocked when they found out upon his death, but then again everyone was shocked to discover David Carradine's hobby as well.

I should have said "on one of my visits". It's been at least 5 years since though. I used to tell my
wife that nothing happened at those clubs (sex) but just two days ago one I used to go to got shut
down for allowing prostitution. And no, I didn't engage so to speak. I've been faithful to my wife since
we've been married. (15 years now)

Bob Crane the cameraman.(LOL)

Don't lie, you've been to strip clubs more than once.

Cool Bob Crane story. Hogan's Heros is probably my favorite show. I have all  6 seasons on DVD.
I also have all 3 seasons of Gilligan's Island. Sorry, but I would have had to ask Mr. Denver for his autograph
at least once. I live about 5 hours from Princeton W,Va.. I would have loved to have met him. I used to smoke
so that made me like him even more. I think I would have loved meeting Ginger too. Always and still have a
fascination for her. I went to a strip club once and got a picture with a feature dancer who claimed to be her
daughter. If I find it I'll post it. Of course I'll have to censor it. Anyway, you're lucky and I'm jealous. Peace!

Damn, I was asking for the road again. I am really going blind.

On the other hand, who would remember some odd name like THAT?! How about "Minnow Road" or something?

Since his hair was as longish as the days of Gilligan he looked like a granny type figure. He was nice though, and liked the fact I never let on to who he was when he would come in to pick up his orders. I never even asked him for an autograph, even though I loved him so much as a child and would have loved to have it.

I once met Bob Crane too. He performed in a Play in Chicago called "Beginners Luck" it was very funny. He signed Autographs after the show and when I went up to him, (I was only about 10, 11?) and because my hair had been cut short due to allergies, he asked me: "What's your name son?" I said Susan, and he laughed and shook my hand and said: "Well, what do ya know! I Boy named Sue" That is how he signed my autograph. To a boy named Sue, Bob Crane.

That's it for my brush with fame with old TV celebrities. lol Bet you wish you hadn't asked.
