Long enough. World-class surfer, Mark Foo, died at Mavericks. Unexpected because he was not only an amazing surfer but that he was a big wave surfer having grown up surfing North Shore, Waikiki, etc. Many would have thought a wave from Hawai'i would have taken him before one in the (then unknown) USA big waves spots.

Mavericks took the life of what world-class surfer? (as always, Google / searching is a foul)

Ok man, you are the computer KING....."LONG LIVE THE KING".
Although you don't have to get snippy just because I corrected you on the color of the MacBook Air.
Now, here is some nice music you can listen to as you oversee your Crystalwell kingdom. Enjoy!

Yeah, that is why I own three MacBook Pros and run a mac lab - whatta sleuth. Sure, I am a PC fanboy.

You aren't a gamer. You do no real processing and, as I said, you only read what you can about machines. Heaven forbid that you should OWN one. Hell, me looking at a roomful of Macs could never outweigh your info on what color in which they are "supposedly" produced, eh? Nah, you are far too smart.

Rule #1....never place your MacBooks in the water.....it will fry the the logic board every time.
Now, stop being a PC fanboy   ...everyone knows that Macs are better... lmao

[guidogodoy] Saturday, October 26, 2013 1:46:19 PM
Do your research or buy a machine. I am typing on one. It is a MacBook Pro running i7 Crystalwell, not the i5 Haswell. Updating that last laptop to Mavericks for free too.

I get mine from work. You must just read articles online. Final note? My home-build PCs will still blow any of these new MacBook Pros out of the water.

Neither. He sings it in the lyrics but (yet another hint), he actually repeats "Annandale."

Still not the "Old School."

Anondale or Anaheim ?

[guidogodoy] Tuesday, September 03, 2013 7:46:33 PM
While the lyrics mention "William and Mary" in the song by Steely Dan - "My Old School," the song isn't about that particular school.

Biggest clue? The train mentioned, "The Wolverine," didn't go close to it. Anyone who could name the school without a Wiki or looking up the comments gets a star.

WHEN CUTTING YOUR LAWN WITH A GAS LAWNMOWER AND THE LAWNMOWER GETS CLOGED WITH GRASS UNDERNEATH AND DIES ITS A GOOD IDEA TO DISCONNECT THE SPARK PLUG BEFORE YOU TURN THE LAWNMOWER OVER AND REMOVE THE GRASS FROM UNDERNEATH .THE LAWNMOWER COULD FIRE UP FOR A QUICK SECOND AND TAKE YOUR HAND OFF.

Toady "aka. Grover" in the movie "A Christmas Story" was both the paperboy "I want my 2 dollars!" in the movie "Better off Dead" as well as the young Michael Anthony in the official vid for Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher."

Why Birmingham rock music is good for business

Birmingham Rock stars Roy Wood, Robert Plant, Ozzy Osbourne and Judas Priest
Birmingham Rock stars Roy Wood, Robert Plant, Ozzy Osbourne and Judas Priest

The owner of a Midland record label has finally cracked America, and believes Birmingham’s rock and pop heritage played a huge part in his success.

Gotham Records, part of Barry Tomes Media Group, has signed a £30,000 contract to provide public relations support for a US music TV show, won a lucrative sponsorship deal from a US popcorn brand and has signed several rising American artists – all within a year of opening a Los Angeles office.

Mr Tomes, who founded his firm 40 years ago and worked with the likes of Lulu and Alvin Stardust, said his Birmingham roots played a major role in landing the deals, as the city’s rock credentials are well known on the west coast of the US.

After winning the contract to promote NBC‘s The Jimmy Lloyd Songwriter Showcase – he brought the programme to the Midlands to film an episode at Birmingham Library Theatre and managed to get local band Super6 – which is signed to Gotham – on the show.

He said: “Birmingham is the heart of rock and roll, and the Americans love it. Led Zeppelin, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest – they love them.

“And they love the fact my company is from Birmingham, rather than London.”

He added: “We went over to America last March and met with someone from NBC and I was talking about Birmingham, and reeled off 30 names of artists from the city, and he was astonished.

“Americans tend to think everything from the UK is from London but I encouraged them to come over to see Birmingham and they did – with some filming at the library.

“In LA Birmingham and its history are loved. The Osbournes has helped, but Roy Wood is still worshipped there, and ELO.”

Mr Tomes, who is originally from Northfield, was previously a tour manager for Lulu and has represented the likes of Right Said Fred and Brotherhood of Man over the years.

He has been helped by UK Trade and Investment in the West Midlands, which supported a visit to the South by South West music festival in Texas last March, which played a major part in his success.

UKTI then supported him on a mission to Hollywood in April last year where he met 230 key US music supervisors and visited the NBC Universal Television studios and the Disney/ABC offices.

While there he struck a sponsorship deal with popcorn brand Oogies which led to a contract with The Jimmy Lloyd Songwriter Showcase, that highlights young talent in the US.

He has since signed a contract to provide public relations for another US music show called Real Music Live, and the company will be representing British Music Week in San Francisco this May.

Mr Tomes said the US now accounts for 30 per cent of the company’s turnover and expects this to rise to around 70 per cent by the end of this year.

He said interest from the other side of the Atlantic has been helped by his views on the music business. Income from singles and licensing fees – traditionally the way record companies make money – have become even more obsolete there than in the UK, and he has embraced the challenge the likes of iTunes has set by focusing more on public relations and branding.

Now his income also comes from promotional deals and by selling music into television programmes.

Paul Meikle of UKTI said more firms could trade off the nation’s rich pop heritage abroad.

“The UK music industry has a reputation for originality and quality which makes it an extremely marketable product for overseas markets such as the US, Japan and China,” he added.

No, actually I was just embarrassed from all the early crap I did here.
When I first joined this site I would have been glad to meet people here. I even threw an invite to Metalman.

As for Priest I only complain about the way they fleece their fans.
Everything else is just my opinion and if I think they are declining why can't I say it. I don't tell you or anyone else
to stop saying they are as great as ever if I don't agree with it. As for moving along, I still want to be here. If you guys
don't like that then there's nothing I can do.

...had to edit
...what I will do though is stop going back and forth on this and I will stop purposely being sarcastic towards Guido on our current back and forth.
as for the future it depends on what is said to me. ( not counting "anyone's"  last word on this)

Yes Budred, it was clearly obvious to me that you didn't want to make REAL friends with people when you saw me at the Cleveland Ozzy/Halford show and didn't want to talk to me. Funny, complete strangers thought that I was very approachable and came up to me to chat. Huh. We were both at the Cleveland Priest show and you come on here and flame Priest about the show they put on. You have your opinion and I have mine. If I felt so let down by a band like you obviously do about Priest these days, I wouldn't be on THEIR website complaining about them, I'd move along to what does move me. THAT is what Guido is trying to say to you. I have been very fortunate to meet several people on this forum and rock out to the one and only Judas Priest with them!! Those are some of the best memories of my life

You want to hear something funny. I just signed on while eating a package of Ore Cookies.(true)

Guido, seriously, enough. I think it's either you gotta have the last word or you just want to see if I'll blow up.
Really, I don't get it. I went back through my posts since Nov.2 and other than a comment at election time that led to nothing
the only issues I've had is with you and you started both of them. A lot of what you currently brought up is old behavior. The only
thing negative that I say about Priest other than the obvious age taking over thing is that I didn't think their last show was as good
as previous ones. As for the "Cleveland based band" that I like I haven't mentioned them by name since early December and only have mentioned
them when I was going to see them live or I was listening to them. So dude, get over yourself. "You" are building this into more than it needs to be.
The comment to Brian was sarcasm basically admitting what you said and you come up with 5 other things to gripe about. Do you really
think I care if I have friends here. I don't want friends anywhere on the internet. I've turned down at least 50 friend requests on facebook.
I have 149 subscibers on youtube and never solicted nor subscibed back to any of them. I've subscribed to about 7 pages. I got along
fine on "Hellyeah" and "That other band's site" and I got along just fine on last FM. This is the only place I have issues yet I keep plugging away.
I've changed the way I do nearly everything I do here and on the internet based on issues I have here. It teaches me. I really am just trying to
get along. Man get your last word in and let's stop. I'm sure the one's who aren't laughing at this are probably saying enough already.

While riding the lawn mower today I came to realize the horrible situation that will, most assuredly keep me awake at nights. As this site is song based, only song can convey my true feelings. Yes, our man-love has been broken Hence, I pour out my sould in a slight deviation from the classic by "Deep Blue Something" Breakfast at Tiffany's:

You say that we've got nothing in common
No common ground to start from
And we're falling apart
You'll say the world has come between us
Our lives have come between us
But I know you just don't care

CHORUS:
And I said what about "Screaming for Vengeance"?
Bud said, "I think I remember the LP,
And as I recall, I think, we both kinda liked it."
And I said, "Well, that's the one thing we've got."

I see you - the only one who knew me
And now your eyes see through me
I guess I was wrong
So what now? It's plain to see we're over,
And I hate when things are over -
When so much is left undone

CHORUS:
And I said what about "Screaming for Vengeance"?
He said, "I think I remember the LP,
And as I recall, I think, we both kinda liked it."
And I said, "Well, that's the one thing we've got."

You say that we've got nothing in common
No common ground to start from
And we're falling apart
You'll say the world has come between us
Our lives have come between us
But I know you just don't care

CHORUS:
And I said what about "Screaming for Vengeance"?
He said, "I think I remember the LP,
And as I recall, I think, we both kinda liked it."
And I said, "Well, that's the one thing we've got."

You go in one. Followed by Bwian who, IMO, could care less about you but only wants to piss off the membership.
Browse your own thread. Who actually posted there? Were it not for me, it would have been people trashing you...and Bwian.

Great company.

No. Truth was already told. If you want to talk smack about a band, do it elsewhere. You got shitty seats? Too bad. Those of us where up front were fine and dandy.
Your problem? Cowardice. Bwian has a terminal level of it. Think anyone would EVER care to meet either of you? Nope. Many on this site have gone to concerts together. Exactly what I hoped when i first joined. I've made great friends here over the years. Have either of you?

Bud, as you strike me as more intelligent than Bwian who is thick as a brick. What do you want here? Pity? Check. Conversation? Check. Discussion of Priest? Ummmm. Speaking with people who share like interests? Ummmm. Promotion of the band? Ummmm. Tattoo worship? Forget it! I think yours willl soon appear on "People of Walmart." Howse 'bout THAT for reality? Who the HELL would put that on their skin?! Picasso? Van Gogh? El Greco? Bugs Bunny? Nope. Too mundane.

Hey, it's all good though. I think I can manage to live without your witty comments. I know, a struggle, but I shall survive.

No, he just doesn't like my honesty about Priest.
That and the fact that I can just jump ship and like a certain band more at this time in my life
and then post about everything that I do that involves that band here more than on their site.
It's all good though. I'll manage.

Good gravy, man. You sound like you have beaten dog syndrome or something. As my love of animals should have been quite clear over the years, I'd argue that you came with a persecution complex rather than developing it here. "Web police" wasn't our invention, it was yours.

Ok, I'll play Bill O'Reilly (might need lifts for my shoes plus kill off some major brain cells), and do my best to work harder to conceal reality by "spinning" your messages in the "no spin zone" that is this site. Laugh at / with Bwian all you like as he is a non-issue but one request, please, I beg of you. Do post if you ever "get" what Hellrider is doing. Many here, including me, actually used to like him....the OLD him. For shits and giggles throw this new Tania creature into your "decipher pot" as well for that matter. Both seem to have slipped a cog, IMO.

I deleted my account from that site. It was pointed out I didn't have much to say there. I'd do it here too
but that would be a major cave in when I said I wasn't going to anymore. You can say whatever you want.
You usually spin it later anyway. ...i get what Brian is doing also, that doesn't mean I can't think it's funny.

Oooooh I thought it may have been them. Meh, can't say they have any audience here, look like a Slipknot clone to me.

Here's a Judas Priest related random fact! A radio station here all this week is giving away DVD copies of Heavy Metal Parking Lot. Needless to say I have entered, fingers crossed I get a copy lol.

Depends on who you ask, I suppose. I think we can all agree upon that they are a band from Ohio who plays industrial metal to a relatively local audience.

I'll leave it to someone who actually likes their music to post a video.

Compadre, you are on the down side of pushing 50. I'm not far behind. Do you really think I have any interest in "tracking" you? As i said, i was a member of that site long before you knew it because of you. I am all for new bands and appreciate the comments of those who speak with passion about one band or another. THAT is when I joined MRH. Free site. Why not. If you've figured out who I am there than you'll know that I listen more than I post. Same as when I started here. Any thoughts that I joined a site just to see your actions there are silly. I could look at YouTube and find out more should I care.

Do you think I care if you mention "the band I mention from Ohio" or by name?! Semantics. Also only to the blind who think that Bwian is anything but what he is ... a troll. Transparent as a box jelly.

Don't slag the band on their own damn free site! Not much to ask, is it?  Were I a troll, I would have been posting crap about how shitty MRH was on THEIR site. THEY have had little to no impact on Metal while Priest are gods. Result had I spoken my mind there? I would have gotten the boot, no doubt! Not in my nature to have ever done so but it would have been true. Same as you trying to post what you did here on the Q or MRH's site, imo.

I doubt that anyone has a problem with you posting things about your personal life here. To say that it is keeping the site alive is something else. I go on a trip, Bottom of the ocean, top of a mountain. I take hundreds of pix. One of the very few i always has the JP necklace. Throwback to a band and to people who have had a positive impact in my life. Nothing more.

Now let's ee that Priest tat....in Tahiti!

I'm not sure what it is you want me to say. I don't even want to have this with you.
If you're so good at recalling my posts or joining sites of bands you have no interest in just to see how I'm conducting
myself then you should recall my last post to you (which was meant to be my last post to you).
I said @Guido ...I get it! Since then I haven't even mentioned them by name.
I also said not an apology or attempt at dialog meaning I am sick of caving in so I'm going to continue to post about things going on in my life
or about things that interest me. Sort of like you with all your vacation pics. If I bother you that much just put me on ignore. You or others may not
agree with my views on Priest but if I have an opinion negative or otherwise I'm going to state it.

"TRY to annoy me," you mean. If a dimwit like that who still claims to have me on "ignore" gets to me with a one-liner, I should call it a day and call the men with the white coats. Nope. I think I'll go mulch leaves instead.

Truth be told? I said exactly what annoys me in my post to you.
