true very true, some might say Painkiller too because that brought in more of the Heavier metal fans. and even though Turbo is a very criticized album by alot of Priest fans, it is still a great album and although i dont think anything from that album really "symbolizes" Judas Priest...(IMO) i think maybe harder rock songs such as Victim of Changes, Sinner, Sentinel, and so on. and i totally agree with Breakin the Law and Living after midnight, even though they are very simple songs, they really got more radio play and brough in more fans

I have to say Breaking the Law & Living after midnight because that is what catapulted them into Fame and ability to build up the fan base album by album.
British Steel really transended barriers and brought everyone in.
Also, Turbo did the same and got them reinvigorated and top 10 action, really revived Priest and issued in a whole set of new fans
To the Victim comment, I was listening to it yesterday and thinking it was true to life both for them and myself as I reflected on playing a broom in my friends playroon/ bar room her dad built. We would go in there 7th & 8th grade and blast living & BL

There are obviously many classics that are perfect - Hell Bent for Leather and Metal Gods come to mind - but Alone from Nostradamus is probably the only song on their that seems written from another motivation and is purely about Priest...:

It would be easy to pick a classic that symbolises them.. but as you mentioned Deal with the Devil, the lyrics in that song sums up them as a band, it sums up what Judas priest is all about! And its a wicked fucking song.. one of my favourites off Angel Of Retribution.
I must say that picking a classic to do this is hard, because from each era of their music the sound changes, example Sad Wings, very different to British Steel.. and different again from Painkiller. I think that the entire Angel of Retribution album sums up their career, just listen to the words, they make various refrences to their past, it's a closing summary of the past 30 years.
Then they gave us Nostradamus, which is completely different from the usual style of Judas Priest - i think that now the band is heading off in a different direction, let's face it they are getting too old to be thrashing it out every night in a different city.
This song is a prime example of what priest is all about from beginning to end!
Fast paced, classic riffs, fantastic lyrics. This is my ultimate pump-up song. I get chills in the opening lines: Pounding the world/Like a battering ram! Also the dueling guitars really get my blood flowing. I love how they have words that are openly made up (Desolisating) but they somehow make perfect sense. Just shows the brilliance of Priest's writing. Priest is the epitome of Heavy Metal and this song shows it. A classic that will get your head banging harder than another yet still shows the unmatched musical talent. Priest is, as the final lines say: LEAVING A TRAIL OF DESTRUCTION THAT'S SECOND TO NONE!!!
