Okay. I just received Forged Steel in the mail today and I gave it a spin right after I got out of work. Here's my rating: 10/10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT AN AWESOME COVER ALBUM!!!!!!!!!!!
Deep Freeze, Metal Meltdown, Metallark, Jim, Doug, Johnn...you all have done such a great job in playing the songs of the Metal Gods and coming up with a style of your own. That's pretty difficult to do, IMO, especially when it comes to covering a band as diverse in metal music as Judas Priest.
I just wanna say a big Thank You to all of you for taking the time and effort to make this masterpiece and to give us the opportunity to listen to it in CD form. I'm loving it more and more with every listen!! My current favorites are Hot Rockin' (LOVE IT!! DF at his best!!), The Rage, Metal Gods, Never Satisfied (awesome job on this one, Mettallark and Metal Meltdown!), and Hell Patrol. Shoot, I bet even the Metal Gods would be pleased if they get a chance to listen to your latest work!!! I can only imagine how great Raw Steel must sound like!!
Also... a big thanks to Guido for doing such a great job with the album cover! It looks alot better than I expected. I can't stop looking at it!!!
Great job, Faithful Defenders!!! You all stand out very well in this album!!! I tip my invisible hat to all of you.

Oh come now, my friend! Don't say that! You have done nothing for which you need to apologize!!!!!! In fact , it is a GOOD thing as it shows that we were able to keep true to the original music and make it work regardless of which one of us was singing! In fact, I have NO doubt Metallark could have done the songs I did and I his with very little difficulty! That is the beauty of what we did!!!!!
The most important part is the music. That is what matters! I am VERY grateful for the FIRST review from a regular member!!!! I was holding my breath for that first one and now it has come!! I am looking forward to the next!!!!!!!!! Thanks, Ron!

Excuse my excitement!!! You're absolutely correct...but what I said bout the song is true, it just stuck out to me.
Rick, please excuse my ignorance...yes I read it, but like a kid on Christmas I listened to the disc and commented without going back to the sleeve to check the credits. Please accept my appologies as I totally fouled that up.
You guys will see that when you hear the disc in it's entirety, just like KK and Glenn, things meld seemlessly together with Forged Steel. I honestly don't pick up any noticeable differences...they both sound great and you can hardly tell them apart.

I need to say this about one of the unsung heroes here...Guido!!! What a fantastic design to to the cover and back sleeve!!! It's such a classic look with a modern feel to it...outstanding job, man!!! I want to say more about this as well, but not yet!!! Dude...you nailed it!!!!

Someone who only recieved one could tell, as it is obvious, but I'm hoping that my copy is the only one like it...........

I have been filling orders today as well as assembling the artwork into the cases and all that. I have them lined up on the mantle above the fireplace where I can see them right now!!! OOOOKAAAAAYYYYYY.... We are getting close to release time. I would like to ask a favor from those of you that are interested in receiving a copy of the album;
Those of you that would prefer to get a DIGITAL version, please send me a PM saying so. From what I am told, it will be the same except that you will have to get your own case and download the art work and put it all together and all that crap if you want a case to keep it in. The music will, of course, be exactly the same. I leave this choice to each of you.
As we did with the last album, I will offer it to everyone via UPS. You will only need to pay the shipping cost to your area. I will give more details when we are ready to go. For now, I am only interested in hearing from those that prefer the digital copy!

Guys,its obvious that the two of you have issues that none of us here understands.
Meltdown,since your feelings are not diminished on the matter,I have to say that Freeze is the only one thats here on a "regular basis" to talk to about the the project,again...I'm not saying that you should be here every day..ect...
I'm just saying that Freeze is here almost everyday and he is easy to get ahold of,way easier. We all have known that this is a group effort and not a single person project,Freeze never said anything to make us believe otherwise,but just to let you know we all know that you put in some time and effort towards this CD and sorry the two of you will have to agree to disagree.
That does'nt change the fact that we will all still want to hear the CD though.Great job and I look forwards to hearing it.

As you all may have noticed, there is some animosity regarding this album. That is terribly unfortunate. I know that I have a big ego. I admit it. I also have a very practical side and, MOST importantly, I hold friendship in the highest regard. I do not believe that berating one another or name-calling is an acceptable way to behave. EVERYONE on this Board and throughout the world has problems. No one is so special that they can say their problems are of greater importance than someone else's. No one's brand of suffering is more important than another's. Having problems is NO excuse for poor behavior towards friends. Period.
I made an announcement regarding the completion of this album. Had it not been for Johnn and myself, it would not have been done. We found the time. We made the time. Ok. I had originally decided NOT to make a comment but I see that one is really needed.
First, JD has NOTHING to apologize for , as he was simply making a statement. I appreciate his support. Next, I think it is important for EVERYONE to be clear on something. I made an announcement regarding the completion of this album. I did NOT, EVER, say it was "all mine" or that no one else was involved or any of that crap. By Phil's own words he admits that he has no time for this recording and that is fine. There was NO reason for me to mention him or the other artists since I was NOT talking about the recording, I was talking about completing the production! More importantly, I am NOT a three year old ! I am well aware of the members that participated in this recording and they will be properly credited ON the album. I do not need a motherly reminder.

I will have the final disc ready for printing tomorrow. I have to go to UPS and send it out (along with various documents) to the printers. I figure the actual release will be end of month, as anticipated. I believe we will be offering a digital release as well for those that want it and do not care for the "hard" copy.
The t-shirts are still on hold. I was waiting for the album part to be done first. Once I have done my part on that, I will get a list of folks that want a shirt. I have to wait because it is all very confusing and I do not want anyone to be left out.

Speaking of the album, I received an e-mail last night advising that the drummer should have the tracks to me by Sunday!!! That means we can master them next week!!
