hey Numero Uno i agree with you it is not in my opinion classic priest to the highest extent either allthough there are some really good tracks on it like persecution(my personal favorite) but there is no need for the personal attacks. They should have stuck with Ripper. At least for one more CD anyway. I think the third cd with Ripper would have been more traditional Priest sounding Metal. Much better than this Nostradamus stuff. Angel Of Retribution was ok but had a lot of filler material in my opinion. Nothing special. The cover art is one of their best though.

Ripper simply "filled in" for the one and only METAL GOD! I thank him for keeping the band going while Rob was doing his own thing but NOTHING that he did is better than what Rob has done with Priest. If Rob re-did all those Ripper tracks, the songs would be improved by 1000%. We'll see in 20 years how good Ripper sounds and THEN we can compare them! i recently had the chance to see halford dickinson an dio.
Dio, being the oldest of them was running around as if he was 30, dickinson fooled around also, less than Dio anyway, halford walked around and made some moves... but actually i don´t care much about that, it´s somewhat like a buffer to the whole show but the important thing is that they do a good performance.
Of those three i liked judas the best, then dio and then maiden, and i hope they come back anytime soon to buenos aires.
saludos
ps: sorry for any mistake i may have made, ít´s been years since i stopped studying english =p |

Hey tshoffie and Prowlercub.....look,we are not "fanboys" in here at all...so lets clear that up right now and not saying that you are calling us fanboys....
But you have to understand the toll a tour is doing to Priest....they have been on tour for about a year now and it takes it's toll on each individual differently.
For Bruce Dickinson...he may well be able to jump around stage the entire tour, but for Rob I have seen a pattern develope with everybody's posts that see Priest live.
I'm not saying that you must enjoy watching Rob's lack of stage presence(for you)..but just be aware that he does care and he is "into it"......he is simply "tired". Thats all.
But to wish for Ripper Owens back in the band? I have to let you have your opinion but I wish I could tell you how much better a Rob Halford thats been on tour for a year
is than a Ripper Owens that hasn't began a tour yet.........Rob is that much superior than Tim...it is just a "fact" not an opinion. LOL!

Give Rob a break already! I've seen a lot of bands recently with singers younger than Rob and their voices have not held up: Geoff Tate SUUUCKED when I saw them in May, the guy from Tesla sounds like he was chewing nails, Joe Elliott simply walks away from the mic if he can't hit the notes!!! ROB KICKS ASS!!!!! Can he hit all the notes? No, and he even admitted it in a recent interview. BUT SO WHAT? Why does everyone expect Rob to be note perfect in every single song of every single show he does? He is THE METAL GOD, but come on - you are asking the impossible. Cut him some slack already! I'll take Rob as he is now over Ripper in his prime anyday!
