Yes, the Four Tops were one of the "super groups" of the era. Stubbs was great. What a list of hits, no?

Aww. Hadn't heard! Props to Stubbs. Great Motown sound, indeed. There is a pretty big shrine to him in the Motown Museum in Detroit. RIP

A very said report in the non-metal music world; Levi Stubbs has passed away. Great Motown sound. A true artist.

You know something?  That goes back to what I was saying yesterday about true talent and longevity. There is a reason bands like Three Dog Night and other so-called "older" bands are still out there playing... talent.  Priest are only one example of true musicianship and real ability. Pop bands and so-called "pop stars" of today are not nearly as gifted...with exceptions, of course. Beyonce Knowles, for one. Incredible vocalist.

I certainly do not  want folks to start thinking I hate all things current, because I don't. I simply take umbrage with the garbage that passes as "music" these days, especially when they are called "talented musicians".

About a week before the Priest concert in August this year I saw Three Dog Night with my roomates and one of their families. Actually they were quite good, and I just thought they were too old to keep playing.
