I really didn't want to post here as doing so commits me to this list. I feel the need to add that it is really hard for me to rate their albums against each other as they are all so diverse from each other and as a result I have differing memories attached to each of them.
1 Hell Bent For Leather (Killing Machine)
This album is what turned me on to Priest!! '79 was not ready for this release and neither was I!!!
2 Sad Wings Of Destiny
After hearing HBFL, I rushed out to find other albums from Priest and this one was next. Loved every song!!!
3 Screamin' For Vengeance
A complete album of Metal at it's finest!!!
4 British Steel
What more could possibly be said that hasn't been said already? I believe Metal's first true album!!!
5 Painkiller
Couldn't have come at a better time. Trial over with and full of rage, and I was so tired of Nirvana and the Seattle scene already. I needed Metal and the GODS delivered!!! |

British Steel--the 1 that started it all
Sad Wings Of Destiny--Dreamer /Deceiver to this day sends chills down my spine
Painkiller--Rob's raw power in his vocals on Painkiller. Touch Of Evil. & Between The Hammer & The Anvil

Screaming For Vengeance - First Priest album i brought - Metal Gods, Devils Child, Riding on the wind...
Stained Class - Instant Classic.... I love this album! I want to be buried with a copy of it when i die cos if Heaven / Hell doesn't have a copy.. i wanna make sure i do.
Sin After Sin - So 70's, So Priest..... so ahhhhhhh! (The most underrated too..)
Painkiller - How could this NOT be in the top 5... every song on this album oozes raw energy, raw metal.
Hell Bent For Leather / Killing Machine - What's not to love about this one?... Burnin' up, Running wild, Killing Machine... F*ck yeah!

I can't really say due to the fact that I loved Priest in the 70s, 80s (including Painkiller) and since their reunion.
I'll put it the other way I don't listen to Turbo and Point Of Entry without skipping some of the songs... |

So I will tell you that the albums that got me into Judas Priest and the ones that are the reasons why I love the band so much are Stained Class, Sin After Sin, Sad Wings of Destiny, Defenders of the Faith, and Screaming for Vengeance. Perhaps the one thing I owe my Fanaticism the most to, however, is the Live Vengeance '82 dvd that has kicked my ass over and over again since I bought it, and inspired me to get all the Priest albums. |
