Good point! until recently I never realized just how many catagories of metal there are. There's metal out there for all types. And just because some people refuse to acknowledge that does't make it any less so. To each his own. I find I fit into many catagories myself.

In Japan, we called Ratt belongs to "L.A. METAL". Stephen Pearcy loves JP. He covers JP songs such as YGATC, Exciter etc.
I became a Ratt fan before becoming a JP fan. When Stephen sings "Drive Me Crazy ~ OH YEAH~", he minds me of Rob. I'm aware that Rob is the supreme singer.
"Body Talk" is a very fast metal song. Among L.A. METAL bands, that song was one of the fastest.
This link below is my meet & greet w/ Ratt when I was a teenager. This video was edited by a trial stuff & annoying red letters keep popping up but it shows how Ratt guys are nice dudes! This meeting led me to go deep in metal world. Since late Robbin's BDay is Aug. 4th, pls remember his yet happy days.

Hi Erik,
thanks for the information. Sometimes is difficult
for me to wrote in english. I will write and think in German.
Sometimes I don't find the right words or have problems
with the grammatic. Sometimes I don't know the meaning
of words in english or otherwise. OK, Ratt is not pussy metal
or pussy rock. I like the first two albums. I like the sound
and the guitar work (Rhythm and Lead). What I mean with
"Pussy Metal" (in German: Fotzen-Metal") or "Pussy Rock"
("Fotzen Rock")? Here in Germany more Girls go to the
concerts of Bands like Ratt or Bon Jovi. Our girlfriends in this time too. We must to defence our girlfriends for other girls/womans (they want to have us) and for kiddy boys they want to have our girls. So we beginn to call of Pussy Rock. Bye. Michael |

| Ratt is sexy heavy metal,and as Phantom puts it,......Pussy metal. I would say to Phantom at this time to call them a hair band or 80's metal rather than Pussy metal because pussy rock over here in whacked America would mean a weak and whimpy excuse for a band such as Billy Squire or John Cougar or the Police. Anyone i see talking about how they went to a police concert and how they rocked is full of shit.They sucked is more like it and the only reason they made it big on the song roxxanne was because Eddie Murphy made the whole world laugh while it was playing.That is the only reason because that song sucks and is a technical disaster within the rights of quality.Ratt, on the other hand, was an awesome live band who's guitar player was a solid foundation of technical quality.Don't even start smashing Ratt because i'll put you in your place....Erik the Red. |

Y'wanna know what's funny though? In that first listing of bands...all of them OPENED for Priest.
...in that second listing...Ratt & L.A.Guns were two of four bands that opened for Priest as recently as 2002.

Don't get me wrong, I like some of the music that came from those bands but I can't call them Heavy Metal. My views on heavy are JP / Pantera / Slayer / Megadeath / Madien. Just my opinion but it was more glam and hair than heavy.
