Oh yeah, as for the album, while there are gems....I have many a better recording of Painkiller. Thus, my least favorite song on the CD too.

To me, the song "Touch of Evil" was a very personal message of Rob to the audience: "You mesmerize slowly; till I can't believe my eyes....I'm so afraid; but I still feed the flame... In the night (concert time) come to me, you know I want your touch of evil...YOU'RE POSSESSING ME!!" While it is certainly open to many interpretations, oddly enough that is the one that struck me from the very first listen. I love it.

I don't care for the live version of it,but on Painkiller album...I've always liked "A Touch Of Evil"...it is very "vampyric" to me.

LOL yep sure did.
I agree Spa, for me Painkiller is the only slightly dodgy track on the album, but like you said, it would be incredibly difficult to perform on key night after night! It's a very hard core song vocally! For me, highlights off the album are BTROD, Dissident Aggressor and Touch Of Evil.

The only song off Touch of Evil I don't really like is Painkiller. That song is screamed not sang, and must be screamed on pitch. Was probably difficult for Rob to do when originally recorded, and now, well it must be a voice killer!
I respect the fact he screamed it in the first place, I really don't expect it to sound as good as the recorded version.
If any of you think you can do it, lock yourself in a room and sing/scream that song about 20 times at the top of your lungs, on key! and see if you have ANY voice left whatsoever.

Hi Priest Freaks!
As a "Die Hard Fan"I would like to know where the live versions of the songs from "A Touch Of Evil Live" were recorded (which Cities?)? Every song please,  because there is no information about it. Thanks!

EXCITER AND SINNER WERE ON UNLEASHED IN THE EAST. IF YOU DONT HAVE THAT ONE I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.
I WISH THEY WOULD HAVE PUT "ANGEL" ON THIS ONE.

What I find extremely abominal is they didn't put Hell Patrol on this CD. I don't get why. They KNOW how much Judas Priest fans love that song, they know it's one of the fans' most favourite songs from this tour and they didn't put it on. I REALLY hope that somewhere down the track they expand this CD to maybe two to four more songs (Hell Patrol, Devil's Child, Exciter, Sinner).

I gave it a few listens again and gave it a bit better rating..maybe like 7.5 out of 10. I think it's a decent live album...it is after all what it's entitled...A Touch Of Evil Live. It certainly does have more of an evil overall sound to it. It's certainly very heavy.

I just listened to the new live album "A Touch of Evil Live". Say what you will about the RITE tracks, but I'm actually kinda happy that I now have a mini-RITE to put into my CD player and listen to it during my breaks at work. Still sad that they didn't include "I'm A Rocker", though.
Dissident Aggressor was a big highlight for this CD (at least for me). Very heavy and intense from start to finish, and Rob's powerful scream at the end puts the icing on the cake. Beyond the Realms of Death is very beautiful by itself, and A Touch of Evil (the song) is also great to hear without the visuals of the DVD.
Prophecy + Between the Hammer and the Anvil + Eat Me Alive=COOL!! Almost feels as though I'm back at Devore when I hear the songs from 2008!!
The sound in general is crystal clear and the crowds in the songs were awesome!! Oh, yeah, and the pics in the album jacket are a huge plus.
Overall, I give it a 9/10.

I just bought and listened to A Touch Of Evil Live. After taking a full listen, my response to it is going to be bittersweet. The quality of the recordings is superb and nothing less than Priest's standards. Though, there is a huge difference in sound in songs from 2005 & 2008. The ultimate disappointment is the fact that 6 of the 11 songs are just touched-up versions from Rising In The East on which Rob sounded tired, strained and unable to grasp that mid-range growl. Listening to the new songs really shows how refreshed the band is since they hit the road in June last year. Between The Hammer And The Anvil, Death, Dissident Aggressor, Eat Me Alive and Prophecy all show a revitalised and a hungry Judas Priest. Death in particular raises my hairs. Rob has truly come back a hero on this Priest Feast tour and is now an unstoppable leather clad brute. The tracklisting however is too short and too many mindblowing tracks like Hell Patrol and Sinner feel sorely missed. The album is worth a buy, but overall nothing special. I find myself preferring to listen to fan filmed footage on youtube than to listen to the album. My rating 6.5/10
