the issue I have with canada (not that the US or any other place has a perfect system) is this
we claim that all are equal. now we know that the true big wheels of govt and industry are more equal. the super rich do beter. I am fine with that. but if your gonna pretend that its 1 tier and money or industry is no advantage and cant be used to buy an advantage then it should be so. lets say I slip in my driveway and tear my MCL. (some ligament in the knee). I will limp around for 6 months before I see a specialist and get an apointment for surgery.
if I slip at work then I am on WCB and get seen in about 10 days. if I was a pro hockey player I get seen tomorow and operated on the day the swelling goes down enough to do it. thats treating everyone the same? bullshit.
we focus so much on fixing, rather than prevention. I work with a woman who needs a knee replacement. she cant get an apointment because she has 10% cartilage left. so she gets told she cant walk till her leg is worn out. well if you cant walk its screwed, but leave her in pain for years tilll she can get on the list.

AAAAAaaaaaaaah gotcha, i thought you meant like everytime you go to any doctor. Honestly i don't understand the great hatred for the canadian way of medicine. I've been to the the hospital 3 times in my life for serious shit, once for a day surgery on my ribs, once for a teenage drug overdose( oh those stupid teen years) and the last for some pretty extreme surgery on my arm. Each and everytime i had no problem with anything. I may have waited a couple of hours but that was about it. private clinics are ilegal. and if you want a different treatment you have to go to the states and pay for it yourself. which is technicaly not permited.

Okay Dime, I'm posting after reading your entry w/o reading other posts so I'm not influenced in my opine...I think back to when Clinton was first elected (I did not vote for him) and all the so called "promises" he made. When he arrived on Capitol Hill, he was taken aside by several incumbents from both parties and in so many words was told that they didn't care what he "promised to get here", but things worked a certain way and no one man was going to change that. Well, it took awhile, but he was eventually able to do a lot of what he "promised"...for better or worse. Nothing's different with Obama...same sh*t, different day!!
As far as church, birth certificate, free speech zones and the "leave America now" crap...it's all just that. Anyone can start a rumor and have it quickly spread, thanks in no small part to the Internet!! DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!!!!
Americas problems run deep and change is not gonna happen over night or even in one or two terms...but there has to be a start. Time will tell, not the short term. Most (not all) of the crap being shoveled is being done by anti-dems/anti-Obama folk, it happens after every election. Only folks with nothing better to do (or jobless folks for $20 a day) are shoveling this stuff and should be thought of accordingly.
Again, ONLY time will tell...and nothing else!!!
This is from a man who's proud to be an American and who's NOT running scared or is leaving this great country...EVER!!!

I know this could have been left to the political thread, but i think this deserves a little more light than that. Rumors are getting crazier everytime i hear them. A friend showed me a video of supposed "death camps" being built in cities across the country. The video ends with a really big message "LEAVE AMERICA NOW!" I cant help but think this is just nuts trying to scare the crap out of gulible people, but at the same time certain things going on i can honestly say are kinda freaky. All citizens are going to have to go through military training for 3 months, mandatory? Free speech being limited to free speech "Zones" I really would like to know what some people think on this subject.

| Well thats honestly what im hoping for, a lot of bad things can be said about america, ironically most of it being in the last 50 years or so. Over throwing governments of foreign nations, instaling dictators and the whole Iraq situation comes to mind. I really think though that most americans are true blue, red and white. Americans have done many, many things to be proud of and to be patrotic about. The greatest in my opinion is your constitution, for being hundreds of years old the founding fathers of yours made a peice of paper that gave people born in that country the freedom to live their lives the way they feel. America was founded on the belief that people, not governments control people's destiny, it may have been a borrowed idea, but it is still one of the greatest to live by. |

The controversies about his birth certificate to to the lies about his church, its crazy because ive seen so much different opinions on the guy from him being the greatest man in recorded history to some going as far as saying that he is the Anti-christ. Many americans i talk to are sure of some kind of revolution or civil war is in the near future.
I know this could have been left to the political thread, but i think this deserves a little more light than that. Rumors are getting crazier everytime i hear them. A friend showed me a video of supposed "death camps" being built in cities across the country. The video ends with a really big message "LEAVE AMERICA NOW!" I cant help but think this is just nuts trying to scare the crap out of gulible people, but at the same time certain things going on i can honestly say are kinda freaky. All citizens are going to have to go through military training for 3 months, mandatory? Free speech being limited to free speech "Zones" I really would like to know what some people think on this subject. |
