Mickey Dee or Dave Holland. Dave didn't even drum with his wrists. He drummed with his arms. HUGE mistake as a drummer. Basically the best drum fill he could DO was at the first of Riding on the Wind.

Oh I'm not a big fan of his voice either haha, don't worry about that.
But Mickey Dee is a phenominal drummer. Not just fast and good at double bass, he's technical as shit. Not so much nowdays because he's with Motorohead, but with King Diamond he was. Dave Holland was a very good solid drummer for Priest during their prime years. I liked the sound of his drums, his playing and he did just enough without overpowering everything else.
And J.d. Dianomd, it just come down to a matter of opinion about Dave Holland and Ian Hill. You say Ian Hill is good but not top ten worthy or as good as Steve Harris. Thats your opinion and I respect that but I'm sure some people will disagree.

You are right about Portnoy, I just overlooked him. I do like Dream Theater, but mainly for John Petrucci since I am guitarist myself. But Portnoy is amazing and I should have slotted him just above Dave Lombardo. Try the band Liquid Tension Experiment. It's all instrumental songs with Portnoy, Petrucci, and Rudess of Dream Theater, plus Tony Levin on bass.
In Dream Theater, every member is extremely talented. Love them or hate them, no other band in the world comes close when you're talking about talent. Just watch their live dvds. |

Personally I don't care for King DIamond. Just can't stand his voice. That weak and whiny high pitch! I'm sure that drummer is very good but its not always about how fast someone can play and double base or some long solo in the middle of the show.
I'll keep Dave Holland on my list. [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Bazooka Joe from Tuesday, October 20, 2009 4:29:01 PM) | | Bazooka Joe wrote: | | Listen to the songs DRUMMING though.
Now go listen to old school King Diamond.
Tell me who's a better drummer.
Mickey Dee or Dave Holland. Dave didn't even drum with his wrists. He drummed with his arms. HUGE mistake as a drummer. Basically the best drum fill he could DO was at the first of Riding on the Wind.
We all know Ram It Down was like 80% drum machine. So don't even SAY he did Hard As Iron haha. | | Skybreaker wrote: | | Dave Holland was a very good drummer. Excellent on British Steel and SFV. Not as fast like Scott Travis but very good in my opinion. Some of the best Judas Priest tracks with Dave Holland
Rapid Fire
Desert Plains
Riding on the Wind
