Nothing guilty about listening to Plant's solo stuff, but Page and Coverdale's solo album was so bad that it was almost good. How much like Robert Plant can I sound and how much Led Zeppelin can I play. The ploy worked for Page. Within a year, Plant and Page were recording No Quarter - Plant did not want Coverdale touring with Page and playing Zeppelin live

I'd say he's definately a music icon, probably sold more records than Dylan and Cash combined. More well known around the world than either of those two.
