I WONDER WHAT THEY WOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF THE TURBO ALBUM IF THEY LOOKED MORE METAL
FOR MYSELF TURBO IS ANOTHER TIMELESS JUDAS PRIEST 0 SKIP TRACKS CLASSIC ALBUM [Show/Hide Quoted Message](Quoting Message by J.D. DIAMOND from Tuesday, July 26, 2011 5:16:15 PM)

This album is by far Judas Priest's worst and it is so unPriest-like,even nostradamus sounds more Priest than this. None the less I was sickened by watching the video and lucky enough we left in 20 minutes lol! I suppose Angel Of Retribution sickens you in this same way,I get that but at least they didn't look like a bunch of lame trendy pretty boy big hair wanker posers on the Retribution tour! lol!

Judas Rising,Demonizer,Wheels Of Fire stop the shit out of these pussy songs.

Here's mine. (Only matters to me.)
If I did this yesterday it probably would be different. (Same for tomorrow.) But I did it today so this is what I got.
1. Staind Class
2. British Steel
3. Screaming For Vengeance
4. Defenders of the Faith
5. Hell Bent For Leather
6. Painkiller
7. Ram it Down
8. Point of Entry
9. Sad Wings of Destiny
10. Demolition
11. Jugulator
12. Angel of Retribution
13. Sin After Sin
14. Rocka Rolla

Nostradamus is so weak it's hard to (bottom).(LOL)
Everything in between could change daily depending on my mood. Edited at: Wednesday, July 20, 2011 6:33:37 AM

And if they released Turbo after waiting 13 years you would of been happy? Private Property,Parental Guidance,Hot For Love..."WOW". Its all good, thats why we all have "opinions'". Angel Of Retribution is Priest's 6th best album in my books, and for good reason too.The only 2 under par tracks on the album are Revolution and Lochness, the other 8 are gems.
for me A.O.R is judas is rising, fast forward 2 songs to demonizer, then ff 2 songs to hellrider , end of cd! i listened to it when it first came out 04/05 and havent listened to it since, i use the one with the d.v.d edition to watch those, but otherwise after waiting 13 plus years i was disappointed. just my opinion

Turbo was so bad that the record store I attended weekly actually gave me the Demo tape. They wouldn't play it. When I heard it I knew why. I like a couple of songs off turbo, but it in general sucks. The videos were funny. The commericals were funny, but the record should not have been a joke as well.
LOL!
Yeah i remember going home and playing the cassette tape and wondering like u did!
And after that it never got played much!
The only thing that saved my metal hunger that year was Metallica's "Master Of Puppets",that album brings back great memories of 86-87 that is for sure!
Unlike Turbo!
Damn it,i am still on this thread!
Fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to admit that it does bring back both good and bad memories. I try only to think of the good, but I remember running to the store the day it was released and throwing it on the turntable the second I got home. I was extremely disappointed with it. I really couldn't believe what I was hearing. How the hell can you go from DOTF to THAT? But..... it did have the energy and feel of the times back then and for me those were good times. Turbo was the first Priest show that I ever went to, so that probably helps me not hate it as much as I would. Again, Out In The Cold is really the only song that I ever listen to and still love on that album. It is one of the few Priest albums that I never play and is at the end of my list as well, right next to Jugulator and Demolition.

Fuck man,sad sad sad!
Unlike some folks here that Turbo brings back memories of it playing on car stereos and shit, for me it just brings back saddness, dissappointment and people making fun of the so called "New Priest" in 86.
It was a dark and depressing time the year 1986 was!
And i still can't watch that dvd from that tour either, the one on the Electric Eye DVD flimed in TX.

Well,I'm definately not a fan of either Turbo or Nostradamus, but if I had to pick one at gun point I'd pick Nostradamus, the title track alone wipes the Turbo album off the map just that one song in my opinion.
Turbo has 9 songs,I could find 9 tracks from Nostradamus that can beat Turbo in quality so yeah to me there isn't anything worse than Turbo in my books haha!!
It just frys my ass big time the album does.....from the poppy tunes to the ridiculous image and stage cloths and big hair it was such a joke gone bad man,god I can't stand it hahahaha,I swore an oath back in 86' I would never listen to Priest again after the "T" album lol!!!
Jugulator just honestly seemed like a logical progression from painkiller.
I am with you on ranking AOR well above turbo though. how you got NOST there though... ah well its only opinions
J.D. DIAMOND wrote:
Actually Head Banger to me Painkiller DOES NOT sound americanized to me,never crossed my mind in 1990 or inbetween either so its hard for me to hear that.It was Jugulator that sounded americanized to me. And I also disagree with Metallian saying how it sounds like a "thrash" album?? No way in my opinion does Painkiller sound anything remotely close to "thrash"?
I've heard many people say this and for the life of me I can't find any sounding parts in the entire Painkiller LP? Metal Meltdown is fast british heavy metal,Painkiller the title track is pure british heavy metal at its heaviest and All Guns Blazing sounds heavy metal to me. Maybe to some people it does?
The only thrash sounding elements in Priest's history could be when Ripper sang the "Mulilate" part in the Jugulator song? No? Hummmm. As far as Turbo....3 songs I can possibly tolorate...Out In The Cold,Wild Nights and Reckless.
But....6 songs...I just can't fathom how Turbo Lover,Locked In,Private Property,Parental Guidance,Rock You All Around The World,Hot For Love can beat any other Priest album, even Nostradamus has better heavier metal songs on it,so does Demolition or any other Priest album in my opinion. It just goes down to the fact that its hard for me to understand why people like this LP but I must accept people like this big pile of bullshit hahaha!!!
I must admit though, people (Hellrider you included haha) rating Turbo higher than Angel Of Retribution is a slap in the fuckin face to me this weekend hahaha!! aarrghhhhh whyyyyyyyyyy!!!!! Nooooo!!!!!! lol

Well,my opinion isn't the right one I just wish it was ha! Well, while everybody my age was partying, whooping it up and enjoying the Turbo album in 1986 I was NOT. I was so damn pissed off at Judas Priest for doing this to the fans,it was black leather, studs & black cloths with killer metal albums to worship and comming off an album titled Defenders Of The Faith I just couldn't belive what was happening.
It was such a low point for myself in the realm of heavy metal. Priest did Turbo,Maiden did Somewhere In Shit and Sabbath was dismembered,Ozzy did the shitty Ultimate Sin album and even underground heavy metal bands like Exciter put out crappy LPs in 1986.
I spit on Priest for 2 years untill I got the Ram It Down album which still didn't make me 100% happy but I was starting to get there, then by 1990 we finally got another real british heavy metal album. The memories I personally have of Turbo and the era in 1986 were all shit, horrible year for heavy metal with only a handfull of exceptions.
Thats why i hate the album so much and even 25 years later in 2011 I still hate it just the same,I wish they would of never done it. Probably K.K.'s idea haha!
