@guido,vail,spa,head banger,acolyte....Iron Maiden's Senjutsu is absolutely awesome. I've listened to it 5 times in it's entirety and as I've said before in my opinion the first 5 studio albums are unmatchable untouchable masterpieces and starting with Somewhere in Time 86' till now is the band's progressive side ... this album 100% DEFINITELY is their best album since Powerslave!

Track #1 "Senjutsu " is as I said before too long in my opinion although Harris looks at it as an intro sort of...in fact it throws the listener off ... it distracted my first listen of the rest of the album and left me wondering why the length of it that I couldn't soak up the entire rest of the album even though I was listening to it so again, Senjutsu is good though and Nico McBrain his drums on the album the sound and styles reminds me of Piece of Mind.

1. Senjutsu
2. Stratego
3. The Writing On The Wall
4. Lost In A Lost World
5. Days Of Future Past
6. The Time Machine
7. Darkest Hour
8. Death Of The Celts
9. The Parchment
10. Hell On Earth

Every single track on this fffffiiiiing album is quality Iron Maiden and the band's 6th best album but god dam great record ....Definitely take my post think about it and listen to the entire album ...

Some tracks are long but they all work this time very very well, and the chorus on all tracks kick butt memorable this album is a masterpiece for sure .. the only extra repetitive structure in the album could be The Parchment but it gives the listener and guitarists and people who love Iron Maiden's guitarists a killer jam session of solos by all 3 and its awesome so this is not a complaint from me whatsoever... yes this album is fucking awesome ...I like all tracks here but my favorite song on the album is track #4 Lost In A Lost World man what a killer song! 🤘

I listened to the album again and read a few articles about it prior and Harris wanted an intro as an epic track to open the album...ok ...but why the F does it have to be an 8 minute epic track ? 3 minutes would be reasonable...but 8? That's the issue I have...the ONLY fffffiiiiing issue!

Guys this fffffiiiiing album is great it's thier most progressive yet so it's basically Iron Maiden's "Nostrdamous " but FAR BETTER imo .... the opener makes sense at 2 minutes but again, that's my only complaint because the rest of the ENTIRE ALBUM IS EXCELLENT!!..It's not better than Firepower of course not but it would be exactly like Firepower opening up track #1 with "Sea Of Red"....?? I like Sea Of Ted but NOT as an opener...it's about placement so I just don't like the length of the opener but damn what a GREAT album ....

They can't go backwards to early 80s but they are pushing forward with progressive, fine.... but this album would of been flawless if the title opener would of been 2 minutes... so man what a great album just not a smart move by Harris imo .... but this album nonetheless IS thier best album since Powerslave and it's even got it's OWN style away from every other album.

Ok I have heard the entire new Iron Maiden album Senjutsu and it's unfortunate for me that it's just "ok" and what ruins this album for me is the very first track #1 "Senjutsu " the title track is a slow tempo boring chorus track that could of been ok for a next to last track but an 8 minute opener that's slow and the chorus isn't bad but it isn't spectacular either and its just b side material really...

A track as the opener a skip because it lacks energy and does not match up with any other opener on an Iron Maiden album in fact this is definitely the worst opening song on a Maiden album with exception to the 2 Blaze albums.

The other tracks are mmm ok 👌 for progressive Iron Maiden but imo this doesn't beat Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son or Brave New World. It's a let down because of that first track for me. If they would of just left it off and started it with Stretego it could of saved it ... not sure why they didn't go with a faster track.

We really do hear things in different perspectives like fans of Nostrdamous...I only wish I liked it because of it's epic structure but for unexplained reasons I just can't capture it's offerings.

I've been arguing with a knuckle head online about Guardians/Rising From Ruins off Firepower.. in my opinion it is in the top 10 best Judas Priest songs ever written but this individual HATES it and calls it weak... this new Iron Maiden track (The Writing On The Wall) is actually so close to Guardians/Rising From Ruins musically you can play them at the same time and they sound almost in time with one another...

In my book if Rising From Ruins is that bad and weak then so is every Priest song that's not in the vien of Painkiller. And for the Maiden track it sounds to me like it could of easily been released in 1989 right after Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son and just before No Prayer For The Dying 1990. Especially the tone and video if some remember the video for Can I Play With Madness.

I surely will spill the truth if Senjutsu turns out lame but idk I have a funny feeling this album will have something special to offer ... @ guido ...I would skip this album altogether Especially if you don't like the new track because not in a million years it will touch the tip of the first 5 albums. But for me yeah it's the best track since 2 Minutes To Midnight...I've been listening to this track every day for the last week.
September 3rd will give it a listen
[J.D. DIAMOND] Sunday, July 25, 2021 11:19:02 AM
@guido lol ! Well to me there are 2 different versions of the band.... the one from 1980s Iron Maiden to 1984s Powerslave & 1985s Live After Death live album which is the ultimate and obviously the BEST Iron Maiden era that is unmatched on the highest level.

Then there is the second version of the band going into thier progressive style and complex epic structures starting with the1986 Somewhere In Time album to 2021s Senjutsu album which will be the 12th album of progressive Iron Maiden... I haven't liked an Iron Maiden all the way through since the Powerslave album. I like songs here and there but starting with Somewhere in Time there's alwaysv 3 or 4 or 5 songs on each album I don't like.

No explanation why I like this track( The Writing On The Wall ) but this is my favorite track since 2 Minutes To Midnight and the lyrics are kick butt but I also understand why some don't like it because it isn't thier roots by any stretch. Can you see the riders on the storm, can you see them riding - riding next to you ~ a far cry from "we're brothers of the road and we rock" as obviously you are well aware of lol...

I still think KK pushed the album to October because of the Iron Maiden release on September 3rd which would of been 2 weeks after KKs release ha ha
[spapad] Saturday, July 24, 2021 4:45:31 PM
@ JD. I'll agree on IM having a fantastic string of albums in the beginning years. The first 5 plus I'll stack on Somewhere in Time as well. Those were the days. Think I'll have to give it a llsten in full when the album is released. Don't want to taint the overall experience with just one or two songs, that way I can keep my hopes up.

@ Vail and Guids. Eddie is the coolest band mascot in the history of Music! I have loved him since Killers. They should make a plush toy of him. lol

@ All. Yes, KK's Priest shows further proof of suckage. lol

[guidogodoy] Saturday, July 24, 2021 3:08:06 PM
"In my opinion for me?" damn, man...when ae you have "my opinion for YOU?" lol Hell, you can have my opinion any day. I don't use it much.

In my opinion for you, though. I thought that maiden song was utterly forgetable. I was even laughing about the video. Besides that WAY kewl samurai, I just didn't get it. Must be one of those "have to learn how to fly a 747 to understand" sort of things. Up there with the comix from the New Yorker.

You can have my opinion in all concerning KK's Priest, though. Not even having Binks! Yes, right there too. No announcement, nothing. Should have left off "Ripper" imo. damn..Done ANYTHING else. Sad, really.

@spa ... no not AS GOOD as Powerslave but if this album is actually flawless IN MY OPINION for ME it will be Iron Maiden's best album SINCE POWERSLAVE ... the first 5 studio albums up to Powerslave are thier best 5 in whatever order ... this COULD be thier 6th best album for me. I absolutely like The Writing On The Wall but as I said I surely don't expect anyone else to. I like the epic vibes and style to me it blows away everything I've heard since Powerslave... when Bruce sings "Riding next to you" I envision him holding his head phones ... the video is awesome.

Yeah no beating thier first 5 stuidio albums no but if the songs match this new one it'll be quality for me. KKs Priest moved the release date tfrom August to October and I'll bet it's because Iron Maiden's Senjutsu is going to be released September 3rd ,doesn't matter if the album is good or not the popularity of it will bury KK. Judas Priest wouldn't have a problem releasing an album the same damn day

MAN!!! Like minds! Just popped in and about to say EXACTLY the same! Just listened to it...and...gah! That vocal! The super high overdub vocal? Only made worse by the..lyrics.

Make mine a new Powerslave. No. Didn't like that new Maiden either even though the samurai WAS way cool.

The new Iron Maiden song is kinda meh, but I LOVED seeing Eddie in the samurai armor. Forkin' kickass.

Just heard the 3rd...ummm...offering from KK's Priest. Nope, don't like it at all. I had some hopes in the beginning, but then Ripper just HAD to try to sing some high notes. That + crap lyrics + virtually no guitar solo earns this song a 0/10 (IMO).

PS: HIYA, SPA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be looking forward to that IM release, as possibly good as Powerslave? That is high praise.

Guido, Sorry about the guitar. Hey, at least it's pretty and made while he was with JP, which makes it official  priest memorabilia.

New Kks Priest song released yesterday "Brothers Of The Road" that is so lame ,instead of describing it you just got to listen to it for yourself yes it's THAT BAD. So far Judas Priest with Ritchie has only one song on studio albums I don't care for, track # 9 on Redeemer Of Souls "Metalizer " and Metalizer is even better than this pile... it's not even B - Side quality it's F.

On a completely different note, Iron Maiden has released thier track "The Writing On The Wall " and it's off thier new album called "Senjutsu" which means tactics and strategy in Japanese. I absolutely like this track but I surely don't expect anyone else to because of how half and half Iron Maiden has been for so many years I get that.

But for me I like the track since they are a progressive band no turning back for them ... I liked The Wicker Man off Brave New World in 2000 when it was released great track great opener but only half the album turned out great . And 2005s A Matter Of Life And Death I like 80% of the album but what makes me not listen to it is I hate the first track iff the album "Different World" ...that first track HAS to be good otherwise it RUINS the entire album.

This new track is placed at # 3 on the album so it's not the opener and is a great fit so far ... I have a weird gut feeling ( I COULD BE WRONG) that this album may be flawless which is a huge statement...I could be wishing too hard here BUT if every track is good on this album it would be the best Iron Maiden album since 1984s Powerslave. So my fingers are crossed. The video for The Writing On The Wall is absolutely AWESOME. There are so many hidden things in it about Eddie etc... . So yeah I'm hoping it'll be great for once.

Following along in this discussion and laughing...

Man, o man. All you both say and more. SOOOOO wish KK didn't choose this route in his "post-Priest" career. Name, logo, even the use of the white KxK..that I also own.. .sigh... anyone want one? Cheap? lol
[spapad] Tuesday, July 6, 2021 9:07:58 PM
HA! If it wasn't meant to be some semblance of Judas Priest why would he name it KK'sPriest?? I think he could have come up with a more orginal name if he wanted to divorce his band from Priest, otherwise it just screams "This is what I think Priest should be doing now".

Thank god they are not.

So here's what KK Drama said today:

K.K. DOWNING Says KK'S PRIEST Is 'A Continuation' Of The 'Wonderful Music' He Made With JUDAS PRIEST

Here is what he said 2 weeks ago:

K.K. Downing has shot down the suggestion that his new band KK'S PRIEST is another version of JUDAS PRIEST. The founding PRIEST guitarist is joined in KK'S PRIEST by ex-JUDAS PRIEST singer Tim "Ripper" Owens, guitarist A.J. Mills (HOSTILE), bassist Tony Newton (VOODOO SIX) and drummer Sean Elg (DEATHRIDERS, CAGE).

"I don't see it that way," Downing told Bryan Reesmanof Billboard about the comparisons between his new band and the legendary British heavy metal outfit. "We're not a new old band or an old new band.

"This is not a version [of JUDAS PRIEST]. That's where the fans are looking at this wrong.

This guy is senile no wonder Rob Glenn and Ian don't want him back.

@spa yeah whats the funniest is that this shit trend band he has he can't make up his mind, one day he says it's NOT his version of Judas Priest then the next day it's a continuation of Judas Priest??? Ha ha 🤣🤣🤣 and Tim Owens yeah he's just NOT the Metal God but he is terrible mimicking Rob (ewwwe how fucking anyoing!!)

..KK'S PRIEST isn't any kind of threat to the real band . Most people who like KKs Priest are trendy idiots who will like just about anything...throw SebastiĂĄn Bach in with Toni Iommi and yep the same supporters that buy KKs Priest, are easily amused and are the trendy type of dumb dumb who get "caught up on the moment" and find the album in a cardboard box in the garage 25 years from now thrown in with oil ...

Sermons Of The Sinner is an embarrassing song and an even more embarrassing video.

HA! Ya know, around here in my neck of the woods I'd be hard pressed to have a conversation about JP with anyone but my daughter and she doesn't live here anymore (all grown up).
They either listen to country, pop, or rap.
Like you say, if they have a comment it's a popular track and no depth to their knowledge. That's ok though, I like my music and they can keep the music from the shallow end of the pool.
Priest's catalog is so vast that for anyone who spends the time to listen, they will always find some music to love. Well,.... maybe not the cow shit kickers.

So I fire back at those idiots and ask them what about tracks like Take These Chains and Rock Hard Ride Free??? And they can not answer. Im sooooo sick and tired of people who know Jack shit about Judas Priest. All these idiots put " yeah man RHRF" yet none of these shit heads even LIKE the fucking song! Firepower may have SOME elements of Painkiller throughout the album but in general NO it sounds NOTHING like Painkiller to me and the album sounds closer to Screaming For Vengeance and Defenders Of The Faith then Painkiller. Fuck these stupid trendy Painkiller ONLY shit fans.
