great idea for a topic! i'd have to say metal gods......i love so many songs, and everyone has made great points, but after all they are ...METAL GODS!

PAINKILLER Lets face it, I can't think of a heavier heavy metal tune than this. It still gives me the chills EVERYTIME I listen to it! And still makes me bang my head.

THE MIGHTY PAAAAAAAAAINKILLLLLLLLLER . IT ALSO DEFINES HEAVY METAL IN EVERY WAY
[acolyte55] Tuesday, December 22, 2009 2:34:42 PM
victim of changes , it has all the elemants , slow and melodic , the twin guitar attack , individual solos ,  robs voice down low , mid range and of course the scream and for me timeless but that was a brain cramper
[eagleyeamone] Tuesday, December 22, 2009 5:07:24 AM

RAPID FIRE -ON THE BRITISH STEEL C.D -----pounding the world;like a battering ram ;forging the furnace for the final grand slam.  These opening lyrics are a great representation of the METAL MASTERS !!!!!! SERIOUS ADREANAL ENHANCEMENT  !!!!!! I USED TO PLAY FOOTBALL IN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL ; I HAD THIS SONG ON A CASSETTE TAPE REPEATED ABOUT SEVEN TIMES ....IT TRUELY FACILITATED MY NEED FOR BRUTALITY ON THE FIELD !!!!!!! I LOVE THE "TRUE POWER" OF METAL

[srandino1] Tuesday, December 22, 2009 2:24:28 AM
Can anyone tell me if Priest ever produced a video for "Blood Red Skies"? Incredible song!! Thanks!

For me, THE SENTINEL! Its the ultimate Priest song next to legends like Painkiller, Sinner and Exciter. Its a really good story and the way its told through the song No songs has such a cool story to it. I cant help but sing to that song. Its also one of the few songs i get stuck in my head even if i havent heard it in awhile.

I'm a Rocker. I'd say that sums it up. Right to the point of us metalheads. Sometimes I get chills listening to that song. As corny of a song as it may be, the song stands true for us metalheads.
[jane_nothing] Sunday, December 20, 2009 1:29:40 PM

Heavy Duty/Defenders of the Faith because they fed our metal hunger and defended our metal faith for many years and still are

Choosing one song is an impossible task, I couldnt even chose one album. They have always been on the cutting edge of metal and all of their music represents "that time in space" when it was created. I have watched and listened to them as they and metal morphed into what we have today. Great question! and not easely answerd... Every choice i try to make is changed for different reasons. Pick one. The Ripper...Screaming for vengeance, Rocka rolla, Pain killer.....I cant do it!

well one of the very top songs i would say       the green manalishi with the two pronged crown   WHATCHA SAY PRIEST FANS ?
[Svartving] Thursday, October 22, 2009 4:06:46 PM
As Ageneral3 said, it is an impossible question. It is not easy at all, to pick only one song. Judas Priest gives so much, they have so much to say that it's not easy to choose "THE" JP song!
It is more possible to say which song symbolises Priest for every single fan? This may differ for everyone. For me, it would be Jawbreaker or Breaking The Law.

Judas Priest I associate with "Breaking the Law" primarily!!! It is a song which no one JP concert does not manage !!! It is the motto for those who want to live freely !!! (sorry for my English, I think, you understand me))))

..Break that Law right now!!!

I think 'Victim of Changes', particularly played live.  Have the original recorded version on album 'Hero,Hero', this version very tame!  Later recorded versions and played live wonderful, very heavy, love it.  One of the oldest and I think best songs for melody and lyrics.

My favorite Priest song is Metal Gods and I do feel it symbolises their ability to truly represent metal in sound and actions. I love the tune and remember blasting it as a young metal head and thinking there is no song on earth like this one.
[Flying Vitor] Friday, October 02, 2009 6:49:50 AM
I think Painkiller simbolise the Metal Gods. For me this song is THEE Heavy Metal song

Difficult, really difficult. Hard to pin point really. Living After Midnight, "this motor's revved up fit to break", I always associate them with rocking out and motorbikes so it fits for me. But, if I want to 'show off' Priest I would likely put on Victim of Changes. Displays their rock solid melody and awesome guitar work along with far reaching vocals and a sense of drama. It is musically delicious!! Oops, Hi, yeah I am new here. Loved Priest for about 20 years but never seen them.

Actually, there are many songs, but my personal choices would be:

Heavy Metal - Because it's Priest, it's Heavy and the lyrics describes what Priest are fighting for

Heavy Duty/Defenders of the Faith - Don't need any other description than the title.

Freewheel Burning - Great fast Priest song about what life should be all about!

Lochness - My personal favourite. It's long, heavy and atmospheric, and they really show huge songwriting skills in this!

A touch of Evil - A real grim song. And it's actually about love! :)

Painkiller - Heavy Metal's international main anthem. HAIL!

I really feel British Steel had a big under ground, word of outh movement(although I was 12 my brother was a SR) and they were hitting them & Def Leppard Rock brigade tour.
No Question those two songs made them. Plus, how can anyone dey the brilliance???????
Totally disagree on TURBO of course that concert was my dream come true to see them since I was 12It rocke to all in my high  school( I am in JP Live 3rd row at that concert Reuinion Dallas)
People took notice and gave a look. My friends who none were in different groups all loved it. My daughter who is 7 loves Private Property, Parental Guidance, Out in the cold (of course her favorite JP is Breaking the Law & Living after midnight)
Pain Killer was trying to be to thrash Metal or Pantera like.
I actually hung out with Pantera & went on one date with Rex.
Just an old lady's thoughts
