First time poster, long time lurker. Priest started their U.S. tour in Seattle tonight...

I know, I know - that last comment will probably generate some controversy. But hey, I've seen both bands plenty of times going back 20+ years and this gig was the best Priest gig I think I have ever seen (and that's a bold statement). Here's the particulars:

I like that setlist alot. Manalishi is one of my favorite Priest tunes and I want to see how Scott plays it (the Rising In the East DVD is cutting the mustard for me).

I dont think we'll get Green Manalishi in the States. IMO: Figure on 18-19 Songs for the Canada/US (JP plays more songs in Europe & Asia). OK No: SWOD (??), Stained Class, POE, RID, Turbo... on this tour..but I like the set list. Thank you Priest!

Maybe, but when I saw iron maiden(2 times) in the same situation they play more than 2 hours.
Ok I don't want to be boring so I'll stop here about this, and I will tell you that I was very pleased to see the Metal Gods again with songs I never heard live!

Remeber that these are festival shows so naturally the setlist is cropped. I would be dissapointed if when they play their headline shows in New Zealand, Australia , Japan etc they don't add another 3 or 4 songs. At a guess; Touch Of Evil, Revolution, Living after midnight, and maybe Deal with the Devil. Would assume US and Canada will miss out as well, as all those shows are essentially festiva shows with 4 bands on the bill. We'll see I guess.

Now onto setlist thoughts....

It is indeed a better mix then what it could have been but not as good as it could be. The addition of DA is awesome but if just once they would throw in The Rage/Steeler my concert going life would be complete. The shitty thing is they may have played this combo years ago when I was at the shows in 1980/1981 but damnit I was young and probably high on something and do not remember much. Other then rocking my ass off.

I see Priest has added Green Manalishi to their setlist in Europe. Heard live recordingsfrom Munich & Zolle on this tour and I am a bit mixed on some of the songs they have chosen to play. If you want to get technical, No: Sad Wings, Stained Class, POE, RID, Turbo etc.... Dont get me wrong, I enjoy that Priest has mixed it up "a bit". But Rob shouldnt be hemorraging thru Painkiller & for that matter Devils Child. The Nostradamus material seemed crisp. Lets be honest though: Outside of 4-5 dusted off classics, we get the same ole, same ole setlist. Well at least they dropped LAM, Touch of Evil & the lame acoustic Diamonds & Rust.

I would expect them to play a full set In Australia, which I will get to enjoy as My wife and my mates and I will be winging-over to see it! Super bummed they're not coming to the "Land of the long white cloud", but this is our only shot. Flights to Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne all cost the same from Auckland, so decisions, desicions. Just hope we don't buy our flights , tickets etc then the website pops up with, NZ date added! Keen to see any Download pics, setlists etc

It would be nice if they add Judas Rising, Nostradamus and maybe another new song like Visions or something. Though I'm guessing they won't add any songs which have a lot of synth / symphony etc because for that you would need Don Airey or someone like that to play it live.

No, the selist has not changed from the first several shows. However, the Download Fest should bring an extra 4-5 songs on the xtended set due to the
Kid R cancellation. Any thoughts? My guess is another NSTRDMS & a couple sort of retreads: Green Manalishi & Grinder?? Anyway I am enjoying the current setlist ! MSyrup

Won't they be playing an extended set on the Australia/Asia tour in September? They're the only real big act on that tour and should get to play a longer set there too.

What an amazing setlist!! I am really happy to see them mixing things up this tour. "Dissident Aggressor", "Angel", and "Devil's Child" are incredible inclusions. I'll be there August 10th in New York City and I cannot wait!!

I thought KK or someone said they will tour through most of 2009? It would really suck if they only play a few shows where they play the entire album. I really dig this album and would really love to see a full Nostradamus show.

Whoops!. Problem with 'package' tours is that the bands get reduced stage time. Priest will only get an hour and a half tops till the US tour is over, even less at the European festivals in some cases. So by the time they do Australia, Japan , Korea and I guess South America they will up the song number to about 21 /22. I would expect to see; Living After Midnight, Touch Of Evil, Revolution and maybe Judas Rising [natch] or Beyond the Realms Of Death added then. I would assume that they then would take a break over Christmas, and then maybe, December or January you will see four or five dedicated Nostrodamus multi-media shows, and a tie-in DVD, filmed at a venue like the Royal Albert Hall. Then that will be it for another 2 or 3 years. Although there may be the lost acoustic album that they were working on during the Angel Of Retribution tour to look forward to.

I really thought this was gonna be the nostradomous shows. I bought tickets to two shows, but now I want one for a 3rd. This is gonna be way too ass kicking to just go to 2 shows. Since I'm a huge testament and sabbath fan as well as priest, this is definitely gonna be worth it. I don't like motorhead so I'll be using their set to load up on beer

That's an incredible setlist!! Devil's Child, Hell Patrol, Between the Hammer and the Anvil, Rock Hard Ride Free and Sinner are all among my favourite songs, and I never expected to see any of them. Saturday will be an incredible day!!!
