Yeah, those were the days! Compared to now there were a lot more people around back then. I can't remember the guy with the Beavis profile. I remember Shawn Torrents, Igor Vieira and Priest Hammer. I also remember a shitdisturber with the nickname Halfords Anus. He typed in big pink letters. I'm not kidding. Some time later Darryn Hellofs and his alter ego Moonbeam McQuade came around and the rest is history. Ha!

You know bloody damn well what happened back then, Headbanger. I criticized the band's management, because I really didn't like the fact that Judas Priest joined the Ozzfest tour! I got banned because of my outspokeness. Some time later I joined again, under the same username. But I'm keeping a low profile since then. Ha!   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Head banger from Wednesday, December 02, 2009 12:34:31 PM)

You're right. I think I've been around since 2003 or 2004. I'm not sure though, it's a long time ago. I remember you were around as well back then. As far as I know you're the only member from that era that still posts today. All the others have disappeared.

You don’t have to be a psychologist to understand what’s going on in here. I’ve been around for quite a while now and I’ve developed my own little theory over time.

First of all I think it’s very important to point out that there are two groups of people frequenting this board. The first group is made up of occasional visitors. These people post a message every now and then, but never hang around for too long. These folks are decent and law-abiding members. I like to call this group of people the outer circle.

Then there is a second, smaller group, made up of veteran members: the inner circle. These people post 10 or more messages each day and often have more than 1000 or 2000 posts. I’m talking about the key players of the board. Some of these inner circle folks have the best intentions, but several others make up the amoral and corrupt establishment I was talking about in my previous message. A little club of sleazy people who are rotten to the core. It’s a well-known fact that there are a lot of ego clashes and struggles going on within the inner circle. For example: one of the most recent struggles revolved around key players like MG, Lady B, Soylent and a few others. This vicious war of words came to an end when a couple of these people walked off with their tail between their legs. This was just one such struggle. There have been countless struggles like that in the past. I firmly believe that some of these exiled members sometimes return as rogue members (Eviltwin 1, Eviltwin 2, FreakyMetalHead,…) to take revenge by destabilizing the board. Let there be no doubt about it: behind every rogue member, troll or imposter there is a former key player. This is not the work of an outside party. It's coming from within and it’s just a big mindfuck.

I’m not choosing sides or calling anyone names. Please keep that in mind in case anyone of you decides to rip me apart. This is simply the point of view of an outsider.

I couldn't disagree more. The fact that you don't know your own machine and how to fix a runtime error isn't the fault of the site. It is your own computer illiteracy. Let me take a stab in the dark. You are using Internet Explorer on a PC.

So am I at the moment and I know how to fix a runtime error! Ever try a simple google search? There are a thousand sites that tell you how to fix Explorer and, even better, suggest that you switch to Firefox.

What you call "amoral establishment" I call freedom. Where is the amorality? If anywhere, it lies within the membership, not the "person(s)" that run this board. If we act in a childish manner, who is to blame? Webby?!? I think not.

Don't post here if you think it offers nothing and should be shut down. Simple as that. I, among many, are of quite a different opinion.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Craig Wagenhoffer from Wednesday, December 02, 2009 8:51:30 AM)

Well said, Val. Look, I do not recall ever having an issue with either Craig or Jimmy. Having said this, I respectfully submit the following;

This is NOT the only place on the internet in which one can discuss Judas Priest. As previously mentioned, there is always the "Q", not to mention several other sites that are better "monitored", if that is truly the concern. I do not believe that it is.

To complain that this Board is "in decay" or full of miscreants and yet continue to come here over and over is nothing short of hypocrisy. If you do not like it here, leave. Why post lament after lament, criticize Murray, insult regular members and complain about conditions yet remain? As has been pointed out, there are options. How is it that "shutting down" this site will cure the problem? Clearly, it would simply re-emerge when the site came back. The problem is not this Board. It is NOT Murray nor is it the vast majority of members. It is a select few that choose to behave as adolescents and seek to cause discord.

The fact remains, there are other places to go if this place is so distasteful. Several members have made that choice and I can only assume that the ones who have not returned are happy with their choice. Those that are not seem to always come back. The bottom line here is, there are good people here and there are bad. Same as anywhere you go. You cannot legislate decency on the internet. There are places that have "moderators" and certainly those sites would be better for the people who feel this place is "out of control". Again, you have options.

Murray is not going to install moderators. He runs this place as best he can. He does a great job. There is no fee to join and we are open to all new members. This will, of course, mean that we get the occasional moron. So be it. Like you, I have the option to leave if I find the site not to my liking. As guido mentioned, there are people here that have become some of my best friends. We have shared some GREAT memories, attended some Priest shows and nutured wonderful relationships.  There are those that have left that I do believe are much better off elsewhere. If anyone finds themselves in this category, I encourage you to simply go away.

Well JimmyJames and Craig, there's always the Q. It's the cleanest forum on the Interwebs.

I could not agree more. This board is in rapid decay. I get these annoying runtime errors almost all the time now. Members are running wild and deviants are having the time of their life. Law and order are beginning to break down completely. I blame the politically correct and extremely amoral establishment that runs this board behind the scenes. This board has become polluted, dirty and unpleasant. I wouldn't mind if they would shut it down. Sometimes it's good to wipe the slate clean and start all over again.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

This thread was created to celebrate the "most respected memberUm, no it wasn't. This Thread was created as a way to stir up trouble and get a cheap laugh. There is no redeeming quality to it at all and its true intent is obvious even to the most feeble of mind. This is nothing more than an extension of your continued attempts to get members riled up so you can sit there and giggle.  It is not "funny". It is not "poignant". It is not "relevant. It is just an attempt to agitate (dude, you crack me up...)  My greatest disappointment is that more regulars did not recognize that and simply IGNORE it, as we ALL should have. Then it would have simply went away.

One would think that, with your ability to do some of the things you do with a computer, you would find a more productive way to express yourself. Your boorish behavior completely diminishes any real value you (potentially)  bring to this site.

Well, I can see one doomsayer / glass half empty sort of person who has never seen a priest show with someone from the boards.

Personally, I have met quite a few members from the board and exchanged Priest stuff with a whole lot more.

Methinks the Grinch's heart is three sizes too small....or perhaps his shoes are too tight. LOL!!!!!

Why does anybody even care how many friends, respect points, ignores etc other members of the board have? There's no point making friends on here because everyones always fighting and bitching and being self righteous, trying to get each other banned, pontificating, being politically correct etc. So many cool members have gone because they can't be fucked putting up with it.
[guidogodoy] Wednesday, December 02, 2009 12:12:43 AM
Oh, PULEEEAAASE! If you or anyone else thinks that we measure our level of "respect" by points on a website, you are truly a sad individual.

I have the most ignores.....I win!

The stats quoted are not even correct, and who would care if they were?

Murray removed that listing for a reason. Because it was being abused.

As a very wise member said, you are who you run with, and that does not say much for a certain member's idolization of a abuser of the board's points list. Only shows his ignorance and true personality. lol

If you have been here any length of time, you know how much that "points" system gets abused. So, once again. Who really cares.

We shall all be here regardless of "points" and we shall enjoy being here for the friendships we have and the love we have for our favorite band.

The rest, is inmaterial.
