I too have a question regarding tour dates. IZOD Center is a pretty far location for concerts. If anybody from the band or their management reads this, that would be great. My question is in addtition to playing all the dates announced, why are you not playing in New York City itself at Madison Aqwuare Garden or in Connecticut? It is one thing if this another tour or something, than that is understandable. But if this is going to be you very last world tour, than it would be only fair if you could please play at MSG in NYC or at one of the three Connecticut arenas (XL Center in Hartford, Harbor Yard arena in Bridgeport or at Mohegan Sun). I realize Connecticut is a small market, but if this is going to be your last big tour, than I think it is only fair that you give the fans in Connecticut a chance to say good bye. The same goes for the fans in New York City itself and to play one last gig at MSG would be very great moment for heavy metal music! - Best to you you on the Epitaph tour!

They said the tour would last two years, what do you want? They announce them  as they get them booked. If you don't like what you see. Wait. You obviously don't want to travel, so just wait.

Thank you Longshaor for understanding my question. Sure writing "travel" is easy but right now the 2 closest shows are IZOD ( a14 hour round trip) and Florida ( a 22 hour round trip). It just seems weird to me that after playing a bunch of shows in Texas & Canada the Priest would not tour the East Coast except NY/NJ & FL. One of the besy concerts I've ever seen was the Priest in Raleigh, NC in1991 where the band was wild and the audience was one of the wildest I've ever seen ( and I've seen a lot). No concerts in DC? Atlanta? the Carolinas?Virginia?. I am hoping the band will announce the East Coast leg soon. Maybe they will take an x-mass break and then come back. If not then maybe I will " travel" to the IZOD show if tix are ever available ( there is a rumor that the ticket hawks already have hoarded most of them). I've been lucky enough to see the Priest 3 times but I would love to catch them one more time.
[Longshaor] Monday, July 18, 2011 12:24:11 PM
Not sure if this is the right place for this, but does anyone know what's up with the Izod Center show on 18 November?  There don't seem to be any tickets available for it and the Izod Center's website doesn't even mention it.
[.] Sunday, July 17, 2011 3:54:39 AM
8 November US Bank Arena, Cincinnati, OH
9 November Prairie Capital Convention Center, Springfield, IL
10 November The Family Arena, St. Louis, MO
12 November The Venue at Horseshoe Casino, Chicago, IL
13 November Joe Louis Arena, Detroit, MI
15 November Quicken Loans Arena, Cleveland, OH
16 November The Armory, Rochester, NY
18 November Izod Center, East Rutherford, NJ

Hi dude, I'm sure you've seen the tour schedule before but I'm just posting it here for convenience of discussion. Perhaps the dates already confirmed may not be close enough to you but I know as much as you if JP will add any more dates besides these. They may or not. Are you saying that the tickets are not available for purchase yet? The dates I see are far into the year in November. Perhaps that is why the tickets are not available yet. It's now just middle of July.

It's not ok to answer your very valid question with a brute: "Go travel."

EAST COAST TICKETS ANYONE??....LOOKING FOR EAST COAST TIX....HELLO...DID SOMEONE FORGET THE EAST COAST??..EAST COAST HERE..HELLO!...STILL WAITING HERE..HELLO!!!...
[fernando001] Wednesday, July 13, 2011 5:13:33 AM
I'm still confused about Priest's norcal date in Concord on the 27th. I looked up tickets on ticketbastard but nothing shows up. I was originally going to try and see them back home in socal at the san bernardino show (where I saw them for my first time back in 08) but I'm not sure I'll have the money to travel back home. Does anyone know what's up with this?
[emoyag] Monday, July 11, 2011 7:31:14 PM
Ok, here's the deal: You guys play all over the States till you get to New York and then... you go back to Canada ...and then...just when you are ready to hit the EAST COAST... you do 2 gigs in Florida and that's it!!!   ARE U KIDDING ME??? . IS THIS A SLAP IN THE FACE TO YOUR MILLIONS OF FANS THAT LIVE IN THE EAST COAST???  Maybe you are just taking an X-mass break and you will
come back and do the east coast later???  If that is so PLEASE let us know now so we don't lose our minds waiting for a gig that is reachable. The East Coast of the USA is much ,much more than just NY and FL. LET US KNOW NOW PLEASE
[Budred] Saturday, July 09, 2011 4:51:58 PM
When I first saw it I really did get confused. I remember the Heaven and Hell ad still being up
so I thought it was an old date. It made me wonder if I knew what year it was.(I got a little nervous)(LOL)
After much thinking and finally asking my wife if this is 2011 I realized it was a date for the current tour.
That's when I saw the show details and clicked on. It had them playing around 9:00pm and it said Dio
and Heaven and Hell. That really confused me and led to my post here. Then I went to Dio's web page
and after looking around for a minute I saw something about Dio Desciples. OK, I haven't lost my f#cking
mind yet. Cool.

that it would be advertized like that, in that order is also confusing as all get out.  seeing dio deciples and priest at the same time would be cool though.

I was checking for Cleveland tickets today and saw something that confused the shit out of me.
Oct. 27, 2011
Allston, Ma.
Judas Priest
Entombed
Botch
Dio
Suicidal Tendencies

Then on the show details it gives performance times.
Under Dio it says Dio and Heaven and hell.

Maybe someone here can clue me in.

This is 2011 right?
Dio is dead right?

Someone, anyone?

OK I get it.

I check everyday for Cleveland tickets and nothing.

I agree with the post below. Turning Circles is cool and Alone
is my favorite song on that album. I have every Priest album on
my classic except Nostradamus which I only used one song from.
"Alone". I love that song.
[vanessa JudasReis] Friday, July 08, 2011 9:34:19 AM
Good Morning to you all. I'd love to hear Turning Circles , Last Rose of Summer & Alone. Of course I could choose hours of material but if this is it ,I'd love to hear these Live.Caviar and Meths? Burnin up? ..................Sorry carried away. I know Y'all understand. Rock Hard Ride Free

I would really like to know why Priest is not coming near D.C. on this tour closest in 4 1/2 hours away love to see them rock the NATIONS CAPITOL
[Budred] Thursday, July 07, 2011 9:53:44 AM
Thanks for both of those posts. I really don't follow the guys individually as much as a band.
That was the first time I was at Glenn's site. I'm glad you posted the tour book link also. I'm not
sure if they are for sale or not but I would love to have the Point of Entry book. I was checking
out the Fuel For Life book also. Thank goodness that look didn't last. KK with curls? WTF!!!!
..and Glenn with a spiky kind of look. Man am I glad that was a fail.
Thanks again. Take care.

Of course, if you're more into 'trips' down MetalGods' Memory Lane, a collection of tourbooks can be found:  kkdowning.net/pictography/tourbooks.html
[\~AuntieB~/] Thursday, July 07, 2011 8:14:52 AM
A lot of fans follow the tour on a couple of the band members' FB profiles.  If you haven't already, keep up with Glenn on his site:

Come on Priest East Coast here! Massachusetts is waiting for you guys!
[emoyag] Tuesday, July 05, 2011 11:45:31 PM
Still waiting for those MISSING EAST COAST TICKETS. Last time I checked there are a bunch of dates in Texas & Canada ( lucky people) but NOTHING on the East Coast except NY & FL. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the East Coast the most populated section of North America?? Come on guys, get youalls butts down yonder here to good ol North Carolina ya hear!!!!  WE LOVE OUR PRIEST!!! You got a problem with that???
[rjolly68] Monday, July 04, 2011 10:35:22 PM

I'm so pumped right now. I just got my priest tickets for the first show in the u.s., san antonio, tx. I got 8 rows from the floor so i'm gonna see it all for the last time.

Horrible thing they did to the fans without advance notice of ticjet sales and no links on site to buy tickets..fan for 28 years and this is horrible.

You have a point. I'm all for seeing the rarer stuff getting played.

I'm enjoying listening to Heart of a Lion on YT.

All valid points H End. Couldnt agree more. Only rare are Blood Red Skies and Starbreaker. Failed to deliver rare gems as promised. MpleSyrp

As a die-hard, lifelong Priest fan…I have to say the Epitaph tour and set list leave a lot to be desired.
Of course, the biggest disappointment is KK’s absence. Frankly, I miss him more than when Halford left. I also believe the fact that his replacement, while musically competent, was selected because of his resemblance to KK. It reeks of a Gene Simmons stunt.
I am also largely disappointed with the set list. In the press prior to the tour we were promised a set list for the long-time fans full of rarities or songs never played before live. That is not what was delivered. Aside from a few good selections, like “Blood Red Skies”, it is the same old, same old.
I understand that a major constraint in the selection of songs is the diminished ability of Rob’s voice, but they could have delivered rare, less strenuous songs.
If the true intent was to deliver a rarity filled, career retrospective set list, selecting a minimum one song per album, then songs should have been selected using the following guide rules:
  • Is it a Judas Priest original? That means no cover songs should be played i.e. “Green Manalishi” & “Diamonds & Rust”.
  • Has the song ever appeared on a Judas Priest or Halford live album? I will assume this tour will result in a live cd/dvd, if so the main selling point is the inclusion of never before played songs. This includes Rob singing songs from “Jugulator” and “Demolition”.
  • Songs should not be too vocally demanding so Rob can sing them night after night without him doubling over and looking at the ground constantly.
Bearing the above in mind, here is my suggested set list:
  1. Rocka Rolla = Rocka Rolla
  2. Sad Wings of Destiny = Dreamer Deceiver
  3. Sin After Sin = Here Comes the Tears
  4. Stained Class = Saints in Hell
  5. Killing Machine = Before the Dawn
  6. British Steel = Steeler
  7. Point of Entry = Don’t Go
  8. Screaming for Vengeance = Devil’s Child
  9. Defenders of the Faith = Night Comes Down
  10. Turbo = Reckless
  11. Ram It Down = Hard as Iron
  12. Painkiller = One Shot at Glory
  13. Jugulator = Cathedral Spires
  14. Demolition = Metal Messiah
  15. Angel of Retribution = Worth Fighting For
  16. Nostradamus = Conquest

After these you can play whatever you wish, I personally cannot imagine a show without “Hell Bent for Leather” and the motorcycle.

My two cents.

Waitin for PRIEST here on the east coast of the ol' USA. Just dates in NY & Florida aint gonna cut it!!!
[Vaillant 3.0] Wednesday, June 29, 2011 2:43:03 PM
If it's anything like the San Bernardino date, you'll have to check back daily at Live Nation/Ticketmaster until you see it there. Don't worry, it'll show up eventually.

Other than Zak doing a ten minute guitar solo Black Label Society kicks ass live.
I could pass on Thin Lizzy though.
(just my opinion, it only matters to me)
[The Controller of Planet X] Monday, May 30, 2011 10:24:33 PM
I'm glad they're comin to the Izod in Jersey. I saw Ozzy there last year and the accoustics ruled. Unfortunate that the supporting acts blow. I mean, other countries get Queensryche, Saxon or Motorhead, but we get Black Label Society and Thin Lizzy? Uh...fuck that noise.

Its all a question of venue crowd and the split of the cash...lol

Hi - obviously new here, but have loved Priest since my hubby introduced me to them.  They put on an awesome show - we haven't missed a Toronto Date in a decade or so.

Was wondering if anyone has heard anything about Ontario tour dates?  It would absolutely break my heart to find out that we couldn't see their final tour.

Thanks in advance,

Aerin

Hey, new here and would like to comment on opening bands. Saxon and Grave Digger-neither play North America since our radio airplay in both the US and Canada is lame. Both bands are amazing and it would be great to see them live.
On Epitaph it seems we will get Thin Lizzy and Black Label Society-neither I want to see
[Deege] Monday, April 18, 2011 10:42:12 AM
Hey I'm new here, Just wanted to know if Priest makes a stop in Tampa, how bout we get a whole crew together and hit the show? Just a thought...
[acolyte55] Wednesday, April 13, 2011 7:04:58 PM
yah true enough bud, wishful thinking lol,
[Budred] Tuesday, April 12, 2011 9:36:38 PM
That would work too.
You have to admit though, it's kind of cool to see a band play before Priest that does really good and you're
thinking "Wow I really liked that" and then Priest comes out and destoys them.

Personally I'd like to see Accept open for Priest. Their older stuff is already awesome, but "Blood of the Nations" has got to be one of the best metal albums of the last decade.
