Well, thank beelzebub (aka, Freeze..lol!). You know, even after I signed off last night I still had that damn question in my head. Even did a couple of searches.
Thought Soy would have been the one to answer it but glad SOMEONE had. Now I can sleep. Well, except for that damn Sinner question. At the gym tonight, I listened to four different versions to "hear what Rob was whispering." Certainly ends wiht a "-tion." "Is this our creation" would't be too far off...but that was for another thread! At least one mystery solved here.

That is one of biggest differences I see. Where you get shock value humor in these newer ones, the older Roasts were cleaner but damn funnier. Oh those old Johnny Carson shows were the best! Late night t.v. has never been the same. David Letterman has his moments, so does Jay Leno, but neither come close to Johnny. I dislike Jimmy Kimmel and Conan OBrian. Craig Ferguson is pretty funny.

Dean, the drunk funny man was incredible, especially when put together with his cohorts like Jerry Lewis and Sammy Davis Jr.

I too miss "classic" t.v. And S.N.L. of old! Hilarious! Nothing can touch the ensamble cast of James Belushi, Gilda Radner, Loraine Newman, Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, Garrett Morris, Jane Curtain.
It's sad to watch what was such a great show, now be so unfunny.
Thank goodness for Nick at Night.
Oh and I just got done watching an old Star Trek episode on the CW11.
Now I'm watching the Comedy Central Roast of William Shatner. |

Since I had to stop my Priest DVD to take that screenshot, I just HAD to join you two with some tri-state Comedy Central bonding! LOL!! This was a good one. Some really stink and, like SNL are a weak throwback to the original Fryer's Club Roasts. Dean Martin was just too damn funny! How 'bout that for one classic funny guy?
