Yup! Now I can spend the rest of the night at home rather than watch grass grow-er, I mean watch a baseball game.

I'm so glad you dodged that bomb. I'm sorry but baseball is the most boring game on the planet. (I know DF, you are turning over with pissed offedness) I HATE baseball. I was forced to go to a game at Wrigley field while at a family reunion in Chicago. It sucked. I HATE Old Style beer, but I learned to love it that day while sitting next to my cousin who kept yelling all the game long. In my head, I was thinking "kill me now!!!".

Funnily enough, she must have read my comment last night. Called me back this morning saying that we weren't going after all. Maybe there weren't any tickets to begin with? Still. Feeling super relieved now.

I know this is mean but maybe say you have "other plans"  or just tell her the truth :D

The only boy name I know that ends with a "-yah" is Katsuya, but that's a Japanese name.

So what's pissing me off today? Welp, my older sister just invited me to a baseball game tomorrow (Dodgers vs somebody else). I DON'T WANNA GO!!! And I can't say no because she wanted it to be a family outing and already bought all the tickets for everybody else. Couldn't she have at least invited us to a soccer or hockey game? ANYTHING but a baseball game!?!?

Maybe a boys baby name book for soon to be parents would help. Im sure that would have some names in there that end in "Yah"

[guidogodoy] Wednesday, April 25, 2012 11:45:21 PM
As in Benjamin? Yeah, that is what Spa was trying to spell and, no, it doesn't count. Last name and doesn't end in a -yah in any case. Joshua never even entered my mind as I don't consider it a -yah ending anyway. It is, of course, a Biblical name. "Yehoshu'a" and, while it ends in an "ah" sound in English, certainly isn't a -yah sound.

I think that you are onto something. Been thinking of a male example for a while now and can't seem to come up with any! Even the Romance Languages end nicknames (and real names) in -o instead of an -a(h). Ronaldinho? Bebeto? Heck, I could go through the entire World Cup team from Brazil and not come up with a single example.

I think I've heard of that before Im not sure cuz the one Im thinking of is Netanyahu. Idk :P

I think the only thing I could come up with was Natanyahou, I'm sure it's spelled wrong and would be a last name. lol

Last night I was lying awake trying to think of a guys name that ends in 'yah' and I could only come up with Joshua. But that doesn't really have the 'yah' at the end. I guess its close though... Well thats definitely going to keep me thinking for days as well.

Of course it sounds like a girl's name! Very melodic. As you mention it, though, I cannot come up with any male names that end in "-yah." Never really thought about it.

Now you'll have me thinking about this for days! LOL!!
[Stratovarius217] Tuesday, April 24, 2012 12:56:25 PM
Yes maybe I should ask her some more question. It would humiliate her. Ronnie James Dio is God! I still miss him. Fav song is Holy Diver \,,/
Netanyah hmm. It sounds like a girls name right? Ya know with the 'yah' at the end. Guys names don't usually end with a 'yah' at least all the guy names I've heard of don't. Btw shes 12 or 13. Idk probably the same age as me.
Don't forget she called Ozzy a freaking girl?!?!?!?! WTF!

Ask her if she's ever heard of "Dimebag." She'll either say: don't know, a quantity to measure a certain drug or, least likely, Darrell. BUSTED! LOL!! Depending on her age, how about pulling your punches. Fill in the blank: Ronnie James _________?

(I am still trying to get over someone describing Mustaine as simply "good."

Yeah I told her I didn't believe this $hit she was saying and she told me to look at her IPod but it was in her dads office. Hmmm I know her dad is a Metal head. That iPod is probably his. Anyways I had enough of that poser. All I wanted her to do was admit she was a poser and admit she had no idea who Dave, Ozzy, or Priest was.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! No, you are not insane. One of the first JP songs off her lips is "United"?!? Dave is "good?!?" I have heard him described in many a term but just plain ol' "good?"
You are 100% right. She is a poser.

I think it was on one of the "Headbanger Journey" vids where someone makes the comment like: oh, I used to like Norwegian Death Metal but I out grew it! LOL!!
