Laurie I loved reading your perspective, being a new fan. I agree with Healer, true fan is all that matters. You appreciate these guys, that is priceless. Loved hanging out - it was great fun.

I had to tilt my head back to see his face. Dammit, sunglasses. Glenn asked if I'd said I was a "new fan." I explained a bit and shook his hand also. Next up was KK. I smiled at him and he stared at me blankly. Someone stuck the now-autographed magazine in my hand, the flash went off and it's over. I told Rob "happy birthday" over my shoulder and I think he thanked me. They're not kidding about the meet'n greet going fast. It feels like five seconds. I'm glad I worked up the nerve to show up! I had been ambivalent until I heard an interview snippet of Glenn talking about seeing young faces at the shows and knowing Priest appealed to later generations. This was during the panicked 2-hour drive to the hospital the day of Janis's crash and it really meant a lot to me.
The concert was an absolute blast!! I've never seen such constant high energy. Generally a band will play the last song twice as big and go all nuts because it's the finale. Priest plays EVERY song like that. The way you know it's over is the lights come up and everyone leaves. No standing around all night hollering for an encore. I had a great view in my 5" heels in the front row  . I haven't quite got the hang of the horns thing and I think I'm the only person who waved a lighter during "Angel." Haha, I'm such a dork. Next time I'd like to try being on the floor. Maybe I'll finally catch something LOL. One of Scott's drumsticks landed in my row, but I didn't even try. If I get my nose broken over a stick, my family won't let me come back!
PS. I told Janis about the backstage pass incident. He says I have his blessing to flash the guy next time.

Great story about your meet and greet. Your picture came out great by the way! It was a blast hanging with you at the pre-party and very cool to wait in line with Janet and I. Since we were last in line, the anticipation must have been killing you. Even though you a "new" fan, you are a "true" fan and that is all that counts! Can't wait for the next meet up! Hey, I hope you find something sturdy to hang onto while Hannah blows through. Will be in our neck of the woods Sat.night/early Sun. morning.

What an experience seeing Priest in such a cool venue as "The Pearl" and having them all to ourselves ... but it was like the party just kept going on afterwards -- with all the Priest Fans wandering around The Palms everywhere!
We also met up with Steve & Johnnie (whom we met gassing up in Cedar City on the way there), and they got to sit with Ian and she got a kiss, so they have a story to go back to Utah with as well.

From meeting in the Loose Caboose the night before the concert, to having our posters confiscated (hee-hee), to going up to the Playboy Club ... it was an honour & a priviledge to meet and share all of this with you. Colley & I are looking forward to the next time ... Just say when and where! You *know* we'll be there -- now we know we can get across the border! (LOL).
Dee, hope you're real birthday was a blast -- though I can't think of much that would top your trip to Vegas!
A big "hi" and hugs to you & Janet (our Rocka Rolla girl!), it was great talking with you both and I hope all those things we talked about work out. Such a pleasure meeting you. Thanks for the pics, can we have some copies -- if it's not too much trouble? (Those ones up in the club are very cool.)

Hi there MedalGoddess! It's bloody cold here. I've had to turn my furnace on every morning for about 2 weeks now until it warms up outside. The other night it got to 0 over night! I woke up to frost. Freezing tempatures already! Today started out ok but now I'm wraped up in a blanket, cold again. Got to get out of Canada! Monday should be nice, hoping to get other day of hiking in.

AHHH Thank you... I missed all you girls.. I am losing my mind here... The contracter is here installing Duct work. and he is Blaring out country Music... And then My appliances got delivered... My f-in stove had a dent in it. So they took it back.. ( not that I care about that) at least Iam to the point where I can flush a toilet today... I feel like I have been camping since May... I need to go Shopping for Boots and shoes or something...lol Clear my mind.. before I totally loose my mind.... ( Whats left of it.. I need to get away from men for a day ya know what I mean?????)

I'm still exhausted and spent my birthday running around all day. I even missed my son's open house at school. I feel so guilty , I have a pile of laundry sitting on the bed looking at me and trying to get my son to go to bed and it's back to work for me tomorrow. Ugh, reality sucks! So I know those of you who couldn't make it to Vegas are dying to know about our meet and greet and my kisses so while my pictures are uploading I'll tell you what happened.
Most of you know about the NJ meet and greet and how our picture didn't come out. The VIP people promised they would make it up to Janet and I and they completely came through! The pre-party was just ok though, the food was terrible and they hardly gave us anything, well anything that was edible. Our JP newbie, paperflower, hung out with Janet and I and it was really great to get to know her but hunny, next time comfort shoes! Janet won a JP Crew t-shirt, Yeah! Amanda then takes the meet and greet group to the venue and we wanted to go last to make sure we had the extra time and plus we wanted to be the last fans to have the meet and greet for the North American Tour! There were press, etc people after us but that doesn't count. So our time finally comes and as soon as we walk in the guys recognized us and Janet said "We're back!" Made all the guys laugh. Ian was 1st and he gave me a big hug and then Scott was next and I wished him a Happy Birthday and told him mine was Wednesday. He pulled me into a big hug, wished me a Happy Birthday & I think he might have kissed my cheek. Things go by like a blurr. Next was Glenn (heart pounding now) and I told him my birthday was Wednesday and do I get a birthday kiss? He laughed and said sure and pulled me into a big, big hug but no kiss . So now I'm bumming a little and I go on next to KK and when he held out his hand I thought he just wanted to shake but as soon as I grabbed his hand he pulled me towards him and kissed me right on the lips! I was shocked and I'm sure the look on my face was priceless. I just remember thinking "Did KK just kissed me? Yeah KK just kissed me in the lips!" I had to clear my head fast though because Rob was next. What an absolute sweetheart! I wished him a belated birthday, kissed his cheek and told him mine was Wednesday and he said "We're both Virgo's that's great and gave me another squeeze. I totally see the draw of this man. He just makes you feel so special! Janet will have to tell everyone about her experience because I have no clue what was going on with her. So now time for the group photo with both Janet and I and she of course went to stand next to Rob and I belined straight for Scott and Glenn. While we lined up I said to Glenn "I still didn't get my birthday kiss" so as soon as they took the picture I felt him pull me towards him so I turned my head and got his kiss right on the lips! Now I don't think he intended it that way and honestly I didn't turn my head on purpose, it was just instinct. But wow! talk about an electric moment, I felt that shoot throug my whole body! Then they were trying to tell me to leave so they could do Janet's picture with the guys and I think they had to tell me a couple of times So after Janet was done, my turn to get back in the line up so of course right straight back to Scott and Glenn, gave Scott and extra squeeze and said I have to be next to the birthday boy! So Amanda took the picture and I was starting to leave but she told me to go back because the picture didn't come out good! Hehe, I think she learned her lesson. Gee, bummer that I had to go back to Glenn huh? So finally Amanda was happy and then honostly I'm not sure if I said anything else to the guys as I was leaving because my head was still spinning. Of course when I got upstairs and was waiting to go inside the hall I realized I didn't say anything that I wanted to say to the guys! The whole thing just goes by way too fast but what an incredible night that I will never forget and now I have pictures to savor it! I want to thank the girls for letting us cut in line when we came out because otherwise we never would have been able to be up front! It was incredible that most of us were on the rail. There were a couple like Wiskywomen, Paperflower, and Bev that had seats but they were front row and they had incredible views! Security was awesome and looked out for us girls so thanks to them too! Show was just incredible and Yeah, Sinner and Death back in the setlist. That was incredible! I can't wait till they tour again. We all have to do this again! Thanks for all the birthday wishes everyone! After the year I've had this was exactly what I needed. Love you all! Hugs! |

Great pics Jeanine. This one reminds me of Edmonton. My hubby was to the left of me taking pics. for me. Every time my right arm got sore I'd try changing to my left.(I always had a fist in the air.) He kept making me put it down because I was blocking his view for the pictures. I didn't really feel too much pain the next day. Thought I would hurt bad. Guess my strengh training through out the winter paid off. I remember after the 2005 shows hurting for days and days after. I'm sure some of you from Vegas might still be feeling it.

THOSE PICTURES ARE FREEKING PHENOMINAL!!!! i saw the one you all were referring to with Glenns hair, looking down, as if he's you know...doin the dirty. and my god, the pics you got of ian!!! all of them!!! jesus. im in sensory overload here. glenn looked so amazing, ian was so happy, rob was in tip top shape. i would love copies of the ones of us in the loose caboose and the playboy club, if its ok? i would be forever grateful. 
jeanine, had to laugh about your comment and papers to i believe about the laundry. my couch is overflowing right now. have another load getting ready to come out, and a kid that still needs to go to bed. eeesh.

jeanine!!! wowza my friend!!!! i am LOVING the pic of rob with the flag around his neck. it's almost poetic you know? and holy hell, that shot of Glenns uhm...you know.. my lord woman!!! thank you so much for sharing these. i know when the crowd split to head down to the floor, and your guys's side was stopped, we were so worried you all wouldnt be up front. i wanted so much for you to experience it. and it was amazing ladies, it was amazing. i know, i wish i could've enjoyed ian and glenns great moods and skillful playing on our side to. but we have these pics to enjoy and get an idea. i could tell they were having a blast though, and i knew when they were interacting with you all. and YES, i'll be posting my pics as soon as i can. have to get the damn things developed.  and i took my freeking phone to the Tmobile dealer, and wanted to know what the hell was the matter with it, and why i coujldnt email my videos to myself. the only way i can transfer them to my computer is to get a stupid memory card. i have this expensive UPGRADED phone, and i can't even email videos to myself!!!! my cheapo one i had before sure as hell could. anyway, so that to is gonna have to wait until this weekend when i can buy one. paper, sweety, i can't wait to share the KK pics i got. i just hope they are good. i've got photoshop so i can fuss with them and tweak them a bit.

| Well, sad to say that is what I have. I know they are blurry (irritates me because I love photography) but at least you can see how close we were and how beautiful the pics would have been had they not been blurry. I feel so priveleged to have met Halford's Doll, JudasPriestess, Mara, Paperflowers, Whiskey Woman, Bev, Freeze, DMANN66, Healer and Janet (Rocka Rolla Woman). What wonderful people. Until Spring?
