I think I'd replace Hear Come The Years with the "Race With The Devil" bonus track(cover track of Girlschool of all bands HA!)on Sin After Sin,Priest makes this track sound like its thier original, just like Green Manalishi. I hate the "Living Bad Dreams" song,I'm glad they never put it out on a studio album. Although Rob said once that he wished they would of put it on Painkiller,I'm sure glad they didn't.The song may be enjoyed by others though, but I can't stand to listen to it. "Angel" is much softer yet I like Angel better but ya know.....

From start to finish there's not a bad track on it except for that bonus track "Living Bad Dreams". Ouch! But thats usually how bonus these tracks turn out. I still say this is the direction they need to take on the new album.

I'm just absolutely glad that I am one of the fans who like the entire Angel Of Retribution album except for Lochness.
To me Angel Of Retribution ranks in at number # 5 when I think of the band's best albums and barely tops Defenders Of The Faith, even if Defenders tops it then Angel Of Retribution would be at # 6 out of 16 studio albums so I'm very lucky to have an album I like thats within the 6 best Priest albums of all time. For you and others it may rank somewhere around 12 or so,it is what it is. But alls I'm really saying is that the next album may not have a Painkiller sound or style.
And spapad.....they kind of did go back in time with the Angel Of Retribution album and remember the band members saying they were trying to achieve a sound that would fit in with Screaming For Vengeance and Defenders Of The Faith and if you think about it Angel Of Retribution does have that type of sound that fits inbetween Screaming For Vengeance's sound and Defenders Of The Faith's sound like the band members said it would be.

I think the only 3 songs like this for as heavy as british heavy metal can go is the song "Painkliier","All Guns Blazing" and "Metalmeltdown".
But I do think that Judas Rising and Demonizer are actually "heavier" than those 7 songs off the Painkiller album.I think the song Demonizer is as heavy as any track from the Painkiller album yet it doesn't have that Painkiller sound, neither does the song hellrider. I understand that your hoping that for the first time in history the band will put out "ALL" songs like the song "Painkiller" but that is a "long shot" my friend, the odds of this are extremely against it but if they did pull it off without going into fucking thrash then that would be cool, but they have always been a band of variety and again, look at those 7 songs from the Painkiller album I listed, they are really not that hard core.I guess if they don't make the Painkiller sound then you and Brian will be butt hurt and I understand why,but if the album is of excellent "quality" tracks like Judas Rising or Demonizer 80% of the album then most of us will flip out for it!!

Well, the 2 of you will be disappointed if it doesn't turn out like Painkiller but if it turns out great classic songs as heavy as "Judas Rising" or "Demonizer" or "Hellrider" with a few tracks as good as "Hell Bent For Leather" and "Freewheel Burning" with the Angel Of Retribution sound mixed with it's original sound I think 95% of fans will flip over it,I know I would.
Sure I'm a fan of "Painkiller" but I guess being into black metal and death metal from the early 80's the Painkiller album is rather "tame" compared to classic black metal releases. I don't think Judas Priest is really a "hard core" band, and I don't think the Painkiller album is "hard core" all the way through. Leather Rebel was not that far off of Defenders sound,Between The Hammer & The Anvil is basic classic Judas Priest as well as A Touch Of Evil,Battle Hymn and One Shot At Glory.Even Night Crawler has much melody over extreme hard heavy metal.
The 4 songs on Painkiller that are the most extreme heavy metal at it's limit are the tracks : "Painkiller,Hell Patrol,All Guns Blazing and Metal Meltdown and now I'm thinking Hell Patrol isn't as heavy as the other 3 mentioned. Even Jugulator wasn't blistering all the way through,I don't think that at age 60 the Metal Gods will deliver 10 straight tracks of the intensity of "Painkiller"(the song) or "Metal Meltdown" if they did "without going into thrash" then that would kick ass,but if they churn out tracks like "Between The Hammer And The Anvil" or "A Touch Of Evil" or "Wheels Of Fire" mixed with heavy ass tracks of quality without a Painkiller swagger then I'm ok with that.
We'll see with the first single from the new album whenever that may be,if its not Painkiller-like then Brian and hellrider31038 can save thier money and simply "not buy the album".Its that simple.Think of it this way,if the new album doesn't turn out like Painkiller then at least they can't take away the copy of Painkiller from you and you can pump Judas Priest's Painkiller and sell every other disc since they are not like Painkiller including "Unleashed In The East".
But We'll see what is delivered,I just think that now I have a better chance at getting a british heavy metal masterpiece with this next album because if it turns out like Angel Of Retribution or Defenders Of The Faith then I'll be in the same spot that Nostradamus fans are in now,I always envy those Nostradamus fans because "to them" they received a masterpiece from my favorite band that has more albums than just "Painkiller".....Judas Priest!!!

But they haven't really ever made an album like what your describing hellrider, even Painkiller isn't as heavy as you describe. I really don't think that Hell Patrol,Leather Rebel,Night Crawler,Between The Hammer & The Anvil,A Touch Of Evil,Battle Hymn or One Shot At Glory are really that in your face rip em' up hard core and thats 7 songs from the Painkiller album.

I must say in defense of Halford it's a good thing we were all so disenchanted, because if we had not been Resurrection whould have been Rob's break out album and put him at the top again.
Thanks to us completely narrow minded fans, Priest came back together! Rob now gets to have his cake and eat it too, and I for one could not be Happier with the situation as it is now!
I expect Rob to return to JP with his ideas and all new material and deliver a rock solid performance on an awesome studio album. Let's face it, most of us die hard fans got non participant when Rob left, most of us HATED Ripper! The song writing suffered without Rob and the ideas seem to just implode into the populus of music. Horrible way for such a time honored band to go.
Weather he can keep up those screams in concert anymore remains to be seen. No not at all hellrider, you are entitled to your opinion just as anybody else is. But yes,I think to 99% of Judas Priest fans saying "Demonizer" doesn't feel like Priest will leave each and every one scratching thier heads. But there are people out there who think that Painkiller isn't really Judas Priest either, usually old fans in thier mid 50's or early 60's but everybody has thier own opinion.
Hellrider 30138,they may do an album like this, you will be utterly disappointed if they do...are you prepared for this?lol!

It just doesn't make any sense to me that they would even think about doing a full blown Nostradamus tour this late in the game? They really need to pack up the "N" album and shelve it along side Turbo and Demolition and just create some bloody british heavy metal music, they really can put out an album that can match the mighty "Painkiller" album song for song so this will be very interesting in how they respond.

PASSION FOR 1 ALBUM LOL
I CONSIDER YOU A FRIEND SO I WILL LET IT GO IN 1 EAR AND OUT THE OTHER
YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT I PLAY HERE.
You know if this next album "isn't" like Painkiller I don't know if I should laugh my ass off or feel sory for you hellrider? lol!!!! Lets hope that its a killer british heavy metal album, you only have one hope "Painkiller" but for many of us we would be happy if it turned out like:
Sad Wings Of Destiny
Sin After Sin
Stained Class
Hell Bent For Leather
British Steel
Screaming For Vengeance
Defenders Of The Faith
Painkiller
Angel Of Retribution
If its a mix between these albums but with quality songs,I'll be thrilled. I'd actually like to hear the album turn out like the sound of "Demonizer" from Angel Of Retribution mixed with the primative sound of the Hell Bent For Leather album mixed with the sharp sound of The Hellion/Electric Eye without the Painkiller signature sound,If the Painkiller sound is absent, not a problem for me in the least. There is more to Judas Priest than one album, but thats just my opinion hellrider,I'm suprised you actually own more CDs from Judas Priest than Painkiller,I would of never gussed it.HAHA! Not to worry,I fully understand your passion for that one album.

He may as well said it helllrider, and who is he to judge a good Priest record? This is coming from a jack off who says "anything" Iron Maiden does is 100% top notch kick ass,and he is saying either Painkiller or bust? I know you like the Defenders Of The Faith album as well as I do,and if the new Priest album was in the vien of Freewheel Burning,The Sentinel,Heavy Duty,Jawbreaker, every song on the album like these with a Defenders influenced sound it would not be as heavy as Painkiller and you may not have got what you originally wanted but it sure as hell could be just as good with the right song writting arangments ect...and I'm sure you would like it,and this Braindead Evans would say its a bust because its not Painkiller? Now thats a joke.

All the solos don't have to be fast like Painkiller but of high quality. Like the solo in Metal Gods off of British Steel. Thats on of my favourite Glenn Tiption solos of all time and its top notch. These solos could make or break the next cd. Along with good songwriting and vocals too.
Know what i'm saying?
Brian_Evans wrote:
I agree with you man. But Priest is going to have to get back their swagger before they attempt the new cd. And I'm talking about the
Painkiller swagger they had during painkiller era. Yes their solos will have to be killer for this new cd to be any good. if their just kind of mediocre then it won't work. Nothing less. It just seems like they have lost their swagger after Nostradamus and they need toget it back with the new cd.

J.D. DIAMOND wrote:
I totally agree hellrider, there has to be a point in time where they realize that by the time of kicking off any kind of Nostradamus tour it would be around the summer of 2011 wich is 3 long years since they released Nostradamus,so why would they want to go "backwards" instead of moving thier career "forwards"?
It just doesn't make any sense to me that they would even think about doing a full blown Nostradamus tour this late in the game? They really need to pack up the "N" album and shelve it along side Turbo and Demolition and just create some bloody british heavy metal music, they really can put out an album that can match the mighty "Painkiller" album song for song so this will be very interesting in how they respond.
hellrider 31038 wrote:

Heres what I would like to hear somewhere in the new album, not another Revolution song no,but listen right at the 2:32 to the 3:00 minute mark when the drums stop and the guitars are plucking without distortion....it totally reeks of the Sad Wings Of Destiny album big time, they should throw more guitar parts like this into the mix of the new album, that would be cool.
[J.D. DIAMOND] Saturday, September 11, 2010 1:37:49 PM
Not to worry,I fully understand your passion for that one album.
sure thing MY METAL SISTER i am in the house right now but will be going into the garage very shortly i will bring it in for you.

Let's face it, most of us die hard fans got non participant when Rob left, most of us HATED Ripper! The song writing suffered without Rob and the ideas seem to just implode into the populus of music. Horrible way for such a time honored band to go.
Weather he can keep up those screams in concert anymore remains to be seen. It's too much to ask of a 20 year old much less a man of his age, but to be certain, he will do his best on record and we will get his best.

Well like I said,if they do indeed create a studio album thats as heavy as Painkiller with equal quality songs on it then it will silence a lot of people who said they "lost it" after the release of Nostradamus and that includes "myself". Let's face it, most of us die hard fans got non participant when Rob left, most of us HATED Ripper! The song writing suffered without Rob and the ideas seem to just implode into the populus of music. Horrible way for such a time honored band to go.
Weather he can keep up those screams in concert anymore remains to be seen. It's too much to ask of a 20 year old much less a man of his age, but to be certain, he will do his best on record and we will get his best.

Hellrider 30138,they may do an album like this, you will be utterly disappointed if they do...are you prepared for this?lol!
