CUBS PICK UP PAIR OF PIRATE LEFTIES
The Cubs beefed up their pitching staff on Thursday, one day before the trade deadline, by picking up left-handers John Grabow and Tom Gorzelanny from the Pirates in exchange for right-handers Kevin Hart and Jose Ascanio and third baseman Josh Harrison. Grabow, 29, is 3-0 with a 3.42 ERA in 45 relief appearances this season. Gorzelanny, 27, was 3-1 with a 5.19 ERA in nine relief appearances with the Pirates before being optioned to AAA Indianapolis, where he has gone 4-3 with a 2.48 ERA in 15 starts.

Today in the Tour De France Jens Voigt (german rider for Saxobank) had what I think is the most horrific accident that I've seen.
He crashed going 80 km an hour on a mountain decent. He's got severe injuries. Head, neck, arm and face (he has just been stabalized and still needs to be scanned to see the extent of his injuries)

I thought I was going to throw up when I saw him go down. Truly a horrific injury. This could either take his life or end his career. I'm praying for him. He is one of the good ones. Nobody should go out like this.

I still cannot beleive that Arturo Gatti has died... exactly he was murdered. He was one of my favourite boxers, true warrior, fought with passion and brave. If he was knocked down he always got up and didn't surrender... He was the quintessence of valour and honour - a real boxer, real spectacular person! He has took part in four "fights of the year", and many of his fights were also very great and very interesting, he has several WBC and IBF champion belts and three unbelievable fights against Mickey Ward. But now he's gone... 37 years old... RIP.
Sorry that I posted it here, just haven't found needed thread. Everyone who likes professional boxing must knows this great guy and remember him.

Well, I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time staying with my mother, sister and her two young boys who "just can't wait to meet Unkie Freeze." I told them that you just LOVE to give airplane rides and that you are big like a tree so they can scale you to swing from your arms. Oh yes, being my relatives, you can guess that they have the tendency to get a bit hyper.

I'll be sure to "wind them up" for you right before I leave for the hotel.

Hey, Pip, Just for you.

I wasn't kidding when I said that I was a fan of Pittsburgh (or the freakin' Coyotes, either!!). Look what I just found. My ORIGINAL "Terrible Towel" and '79 Steelers beercan opened from the bottom, to be sure. Too bad my trashcan is still in Detroit. I was a kid growing up with the Lions, FFS! HAAAAA!! Of COURSE my generation was the Mean Joe Greene era!

Now then...make me an offer...haaa!!!

Yes, I agree, there are professional wrestling and amateur wrestling as well, but it is not a sport competition, it has no sport contest, because it's only a show, good-looking show with perfect stage direction. I have nothing against wrestling (approx 8-10 years ago I also watch it on TV sometimes , it was the age of Rock, Rikishi, Stone Cold and reunioned brothers Kane and Undertaker - I remember, wow! ), but I say with confidence - WWE wrestling is not a sport. Professional sport implies that sportsman earns a salary (or bonus) for results he makes, but wrestlers are not. They make a lot of many with their show, charm and tricks, not to victories or any other sport achievements.
But I have no any complaints to you if you will continue to discuss it there, I just was surprised at first time when I saw WWE wrestling in this thread!

Whoa whoa!! Wait a minute there, my dear!!  I have NO say over topics being created!!  While I certainly appreciate the obvious sense of respect for me, you can create ANY topic you wish! My problem comes when morons keep creating Thread after STUPID Thread to ask the SAME question or make one IDIOTIC statement! There is a BIG difference there, I am sure!

Please do not let my eccentric personality hinder your creative ambitions! There is FAR more stupidity here than I will ever be able to control!

Yes--I agree it is sports entertainment --BUT you have Pro wrestling & you have AMATURE wrestling so that's why I posted this in pro sports  --besides Deep Freeze doesn't want anymore topics !!
If people don't want me posting wrestling in here then just let me know & I won't post anymore --it's as simple as that

Why do you speak about WWE wrestling in this topic? It's not a professional sport, it's just only good show with in advance planned scenario... It will be better to create a separate thread for it IMHO.

wow--you really haven't watched it for awhile !
I can honestly say I've never missed any of the episodes --my dad got me hooked on when I was little
The Undertaker has been out since April of this year--had bone chips in both elbows & he needed both knees operated on so he'll be out of action awhile
And as for Chyna--she had a storyline with Triple H but he fell for Stephanie McMahon in real life & left Chyna for her & Chyna left the WWE--or was asked to leave--the internet was all abuzz that day it happened
but I still enjoy watching it--I take my nieces with me to the wrestling events at Hershey --& they asked me last month when I would stop taking them--I told God willing as long as I could take a breath &  be able to sit in a car--lol

For any wrestling fans on board--Triple H vs John Cena--Legacy cmae out & started beating up on them--so the ref called the match a double dq--but The Million Dollar Man--Ted Dibiase was the guest host & said that since no one technically lost that at the next PPV there would be a triple threat match

Randy Orton vs John Cena vs Triple H for the title

In baseball news--Phillies beat ( severely ) Cincinnati ----22 to 1 --they got 10 runs in the first inning alone
