Out of curiousity, just looked up the states that have laws against leaving animals in hot cars (it was fucking NOON here!). Not surprising is that my current state has no such law. What surprised me is that Michigan doesn't either.

The way the poor pooch was slurping up the ice, it certainly didn't hurt. We dumped so much ice in there that it soaked the car. I was really to the point of smashing the window but, knowing the back-ass state in which I live, I am sure that I'd be the one fined and in jail. I had to get back to work but, after so long a time in the store, I'm sure the owner couldn't have taken that much more time.

I'll let you know if the redneck fuckers track me down via the parking lot cameras to demand damages. I swear, if that poor little dog were doing anything else than looking miserable and panting from the heat, I would have smashed that wiindow out in a second and taken the dog!

Did the ice help the poor baby? They deserve to have their window smashed in!! How much longer did it take the assholes to get to their car? I hope the dog was OK! People like that should be given a very big fine and have to pay for the smashed window to save their dog, and the next time their dog taken away. Once you start hitting their wallet, they notice. Good for you and the other good people that tried to help this poor baby.

Agree 100% about pets as well !! Today, I found some jackass left his dog locked in a car with one window barely rolled down on a very hot day. I had them paged at the store and went back out to the car to watch this poor thing panting from the intense heat. Again, went back to page the asshole owner to no avail. When I went back a third time, the girl at customer service said that the people knew all about it and would deal with it soon. That was too much. By that time there were a few others who saw this stupidity with me and we all went and bought glasses of ice and dumped it in the small opening ol' jackass left for this poor animal.

Fuck them. I think THEY should be locked in a car for an hour with 1/4 inch of fresh air under the hot summer sun of the South for an hour!

That's something that really upsets me too HRMG, people adopting pets then all of a sudden oh we need to give it away cos we're moving and they don't allow pets at our new place (how about finding a place where the WHOLE FAMILY is accepted?) or oh we can't afford our pet anymore. Some people just don't think!

Mental illness or doing it to piss us off?? I don't care anymore - ignore is the best solution. I just wish you didn't see them at all, instead of getting the message that you are ignoring them. Oh well, at least I don't have to read their bullshit spam.

I agree, I think you should have to pass a test to have children AND PETS!!! We would have a lot less homeless pets if people had to take a test first. Our neighbors just adopted a dog that was found wandering a nearby subdivision. The tags the dog was wearing gave all her vaccination information, her birthdate, her breed and her name but nothing else. WTF??!! How can you do that? Just leave your dog and walk away?!

Did anyone else but me "get it" from their father for letting the original Pong burn its image into the television? I still blame other family members for leaving it on....wasn't me.
About as good as when I got my first bow and arrow set and put the bullseye target up taped to the aluminum siding of the garage. HO HO! Funny in retrospect!

Another track from the forthcoming eponymously titled Queensryche album released:  "Fallout."   Simply stunning, especially when compared to anything from the last 3-4 CDs!!

I'm also looking very forward to seeing fan uploads on youtube in the weeks to come chronicling King Diamond's tour of Europe!!    He's got the headlining slot at CopenHell on June 15th(?)...I hope Copenhagen gives him and the band a loud and proud  'Welcome Home!!!'    I know not everyone here can necessarily get by on King Diamond (for which, is fine...hell..anything can be an acquired taste), but I gotta tell all of you...I'm EVER so glad to see him back and kickin' SERIOUS ass!    He looks healthy and his voice is more insane than ever--given the health regiment he's had to follow after his triple-bypass from last year!    The stage set they now have is just killer...totally suitable for the likes of King Diamond!

Was anyone able to attend any of the screenings  for  'Epitaph?'    Just curious what the experience was like--especially with the surround sound and some of the improved audio stakes in many theaters nowadays!
[Justin Kenny] Tuesday, June 04, 2013 8:52:34 AM
Heh!!   You'd be asking too much for vocal inclusions on that Atari 2600...

Yes I defend the albums, ideas, decisions and suggestions of Rob Halford and I´m a fanatic, I love everything he do 1000%! It isn´t a shame!

Look on you tube, there are thousands of fans and they love Nostradamus and K. K. Downing, they want him back, here are only a few fans, they aren´t crucial!

It isn´t retarded to love and to want Kenny back to the band, or to love a sophisticated album of Judas Priest and to want to realize this album into an Opera on stage. I don´t think that Robert and Glenn are retarded, because they had this idea and they said everything is possible, but you are able to discuss something, in contrast to the other fans on this page, but you could be more polite!

I accept your meaning, are you able to accept my meaning too?

I dont care if they are retarded, they are fuckin irritating. Trixi, and her 2 friends are obviously not true fans but are fanatics. This we obviously know.

To be a FAN of a band that has 16 studio albums over 35 years you MUST critisiz something, once you like it ALL you inter into the realm of a fanatic.

Priest could put out an album that sounds like a Madona album and they would defend it 100%.

Its a fuckin joke. True fans are fans like Priest Hammer where ever he is,Guido,Becks,HRMG,Budred,Head Banger, myself, and spa,ect....these are fans.

It defies any sort of logic. When someone reaches hundreds (in one case almost a thousand) posts with TWO friends, you'd think they would begin to question their own sanity. Especially when it pours over to YouTube where people are equally as pissed. Most posts either deleted or flagged as spam.

I am with Bud on this one, sad as these people are clearly not playing with a full deck. Even sadder? At least two have children. There really should be some sort of test or license you need in order to procreate.

"Intrusion" just too tame. If so we could simply send up an "intruder alert" but, as with cockroaches, they are hard to eliminate.

Plus, it calls up images of Berzerk (video game): "Intruder alert, intruder alert....shoot the intruder!"
(oh, come on, SOMEONE remembers the arcade game...NOT the Atari 2600 version which didn't have the voice).

On a different note, Ada turned 10 months old on the 30th (WTF I have a nearly 1 year old!) and now fits her SFV onesie!

I believe they go back to court in October. Hopefully it will all be resolved then. Yeah, the judge was a complete idiot making a ruling like that! I haven't liked much of anything by QR since Promised Land and even that wasn't that good, IMO. I love the old stuff and the boys are delivering that sound with Todd. We have tickets to see them and I can't wait!!

Yeah, that whole Queensryche business is an absolute mess. You also know that I am no hater of QR wtih Tate either. Got plenty of goods to prove it.
Still, Geoff has been a complete ASS about getting fired (difference in artistic direction...pfft!...more like the rest of the band didn't want to do cabaret! Go figure...).

The judge who said that they could both use that name missed taking his meds that day. I am most certainly interested in the NOT Tate version of QR!

I completely agree with you about Queensryche Justin!! It is more than obvious who the true weak link was now!! I knew the minute I met them that things were going downhill fast and that Geoff was definitely the one holding them back. What still pisses me off is that Geoff is using the Queensryche name too. We almost bought tickets to one of his shows even though we KNOW what is going on. It had the other true Queensryche logo and didn't say, Geoff Tate the voice of Queensryche. We made sure to wait and see if it came up on their website and it didn't. Since Geoff can't sell tickets on his own, he is now scamming the QR fans and the venues and most of the fans have no idea what is going on or WHO they will end up seeing!! It's bullshit and it needs to stop!

I know the slower part drives some fans nuts...but man...I absolutely love the mood in Iommi's guitar...and when it crescendos, it's enough to knock yer fillings loose!!   LOL!    What can I say...I'm a sucker for air-tight blends between bass and guitar, and precious few could ever aspire to do better than Butler/Iommi!!

I just listened to another new track from the forthcoming Queensryche CD (sans Tate)....it's called  "Where Dreams Go To Die,"  and I'm here to tell you...I find it to be simply OUTSTANDING.....QR haven't sounded this vibrant and this cohesive since "Empire..."   and for me, a serious QR fan, that's saying something.    Todd LaTorre is doing an AMAZING job....hands down.

Also heard the title track from Megadeth's newest...sounds like it harks back a bit to the "Risk" / "Cryptic Writings"  era...but boy...it's tough to forget all the same!    Wonder what others are thinking about it if they've heard the whole thing...

Hmmm. Interesting. Especially the part about JR high. What, do they just expect kids to get fat every other semester?
Hope they at least have recess in Elementary school. Happiest time of the day!

They still have gym class in our school district, all the way through Freshman year in high school. During elementary school, it's only 2 times per week. In middle school it's every day in that semester, but then they have a different class the next semester.

Oh, good to hear about the recorders! The songs that I mentioned are the ones that stuck out in my mind.
Does gym class still exist there? Speaking to those with kids around here, it seems to have gone the way of the dodo or at best cut down to something goofy like once a week.

Yes, both my sons started to play the recorder in school in 4th grade. Everyone has to learn to play it in our school district. Kind of a prep for band to introduce them to playing music and hopefully joining band.

Amazing story about your sister. Very Kewl indeed. Would have been touching to have been there at the same time as the landing. Heck, you saw my posts about a small graveyard in Hawai'i, I could only imagine.

About Gallipoli, I have NO idea if they still do it but here we all had to learn to play the "recorder" (basic flute if you don't know it). Common song was "Waltzing Mathilda" and, oddly enough, the "Austrian Hymn." Never knew much about what we were playing until the later grades and we learned the history but I cannot get either songs out of my head if I tried. Both easy, yet haunting tunes.

I think I still have my recorder at my mother's house. Hell, why would she give away my six/seven-hole piece of plastic? LOL! "Nobody waiting for me to grieve or pity...." one of the lines (or close to it).

Wonder if the "kids" today still have to learn the recorder? Be curious to know in an age where gym classes are going the way of the dodo.

That's interesting that you guys learnt about Gallipoli too! My sister was extremely lucky this year - she was at ANZAC cove for the dawn service, as a part of the New Zealand Defence Force contingent (she's a civilian working for NZDF). To be there, at the exact time those men landed on the peninsula, would have been spine tingling.

Fine info about your "Memorial Day," Becks. Always curious.
About Gallipoli? People my age learned it in Elementary School+ In EVERY textbook and, yes, it did include NZ and their massive losses.

While I take the day to remember those who gave their lives for my freedom, I also give thanks to those who currently (or will) serve their nations. IMO, they deserve more than a day.

Happy Memorial Day to all my American friends.  Sending my respects to all serving personnel around the world!!!
As a point of interest, our equivalent of memorial day is ANZAC day (Australia New Zealand Army Corps) on the 25th of April - we commemorate all NZers lost in war and those who came home, April 25th marks the day ANZAC forces landed at Gallipoli in 1915. Gallipoli was a huge disaster, it's worth learning about, as sad as it is.

On a more personal note, i really took pause to stop and honor those from Maui who had fallen. Stumbled across a small graveyard en-route to someplace. All soldiers' graves were marked with flags / rank. While there were many soldiers, the first below that reads "PVT - Aug 24, 1941" and the second that marked the remains of a survivor of WWI caught my eye.

They deserve to be honored.

As for Black Sabbath. I'm looking forward to buying their new album. Even though "God is Dead" isn't that great, there is that potential of the rest of it being really good. But then again, it could also be pretty bad. I'm hoping that it's listenable, at least. *crosses fingers*

...not my conversation but I had to chime in.
That freakin' church protested some soldiers services around here and I've been wishing bad things on them ever since.
Them showing up at "Jeff's" service would have been perfect, I guarantee bad things would have happened. Your comment
about the little girl sickens me. WTF is wrong with this freakin' lunatic pastor? Someone please burn that church down!!!

...another reason I chimed in was your comment about the new Sabbath song.
I told my wife two days ago the same thing you said. The beginning of the song ...OK...towards the middle and end I like it.
I would probably pass on their show also. Mentioned that to the wife during the same conversation. Ozzy doesn't sound overly great
on the song and that's as doctored as they can get it. I can't imagine he'll be very good live.

I will admit the last two times I saw Ozzy he sounded better than he has since the 90's but that was nearly 3 years ago and add the
story about his relapse and I wouldn't take the chance. I saw them on "Heaven and Hell" tour in 1980 and their re-union shows in the late
90's and the "Heaven And Hell(band)" tour you mentioned and a few times in between so there is no desire.

Hey, Justin Kenny!

It did surprise me that the Westboro Baptist Church didn't show up. They probably knew better than to try to rile up already emotional Slayer fans. The cult would all be impaled and without a single survivor left to try to sue the attackers for "damages". I heard that they were going to Moore, OK to protest the memorial service being held for a child killed in that F5 tornado. Looks like they didn't even show up there, either.

As for Black Sabbath. The only new song I heard was "God is Dead?". The first three minutes were "meh", but the rest sounded good. I'll probably buy the album, but won't see them live. I prefer to keep my experience of seeing Heaven and Hell live in 2008 intact. Stupid idea? Probably.

[Justin Kenny] Saturday, May 25, 2013 9:32:14 AM
Hey all!!    S'been quite the 'dog's age' since I've made any sorts of posts around here...apart from time spent working, most of my free time is spent on facebook keeping in touch with family and various friends (made online and otherwise) that way.

Three years gone by...and we've lost Ronnie James Dio, Jeff Hanneman, and recently--Ray Manzarek.    Our heros are dropping with seemingly great regularity...   ...I will say this much, however;  I'm very glad the Westboro Baptist Chur....um...I mean CULT, neglected to show to protest Hanneman's Memorial service as they'd initially vowed....it could've gotten very ugly (in spite of Slayer's urgings to merely ignore the lot of them and spend time instead queuing up to get inside and celebrate Jeff's life and music).   I caught some pictorial and other visual accounts of Hanneman's service...I'd say they did a wonderful job celebrating his legendary career in heavy metal and honoring the very person he was.

It's also been unusual to see our beloved Rob Halford resorting to a wheelchair in recent weeks given his issues with his back, eh?!    Thankfully, it doesn't sound like a terribly involved problem, and he's confident once the surgical procedure he needs is completed, he'll be just fine...so...good news there!

I know a lot of people are still up in arms about Bill Ward's absence in Black Sabbath.   Admittedly, I too had hoped whatever needed working out or ironing out would've been done in time for his inclusion on their forthcoming album "13,"  but...as a quip I'd read from Tony Iommi stated, the issue of getting on with things reached rather critical levels--especially once he'd realized what he'd been diagnosed with.    Having seen for himself how quickly things deteriorated with Dio, even for as positively Tony's responded to his own spate of treatments;  I can't really say I blame him for pressing Bill to shit or get off the pot...if they'd waited, who really knows if we'd be celebrating any opportunity whatsoever to hear the original masters of metal make ANYTHING new ever again?    I feel for Bill, and I've read a lot of what he's had to say about the whole affair, but these gentlemen too, are not getting any younger and time seems to be getting shorter and shorter with each passing hour!!    In the grand scheme of things, I can only hope  "13"  will NOT be Tony's  'swan song'  as  "The Devil You Know"  was for Dio (all that's been released since notwithstanding).     I've heard  "God Is Dead"  and  "End of the Beginning"  from it so far, and I must say I'm very pleased with what I've heard so far!!

There's also a lot to be said regarding the whole "...two Queensryches"  issue (you'll all forgive me for possibly recanting things you all may have commiserated about thousands of times over in recent months...like I said, it's been a while for me!!).    I'll just say this much about all of that....I've listened to about 7 or 8 tracks from Geoff Tate's 'version'  (from "Frequency Unknown")....and...in all honesty, even for all the talent he's got with him this time around...I'm every bit as nonplussed about it as I was with Queensryche's previous album  "Dedicated To Chaos,"  which in my humble opinion--was dreadful...and as a fan, it irks me to say that.     Conversely, I've only heard one track so far from the OTHER camp (now featuring Todd LaTorre...a great singer) called  "Redemption,"  and it's got me VERY eager to hear what the rest sounds like!    Sure, it could be argued that LaTorre sounds a bit  'too much'  like what Tate sounded like from the days  of  "The Warning"  or  "Rage For Order,"  but it's abundantly clear that THIS is the sound much of the remaining long-time members of 'Ryche were looking for and wanting to do for a very long time.   Seems Tate had himself too tight a pull on the reins on what was becoming a very worn 'horse,'  and it was down to either feed it carrots and let it get lazier and fatter, or give it a royal smack in the ass and get that sumbitch back to running speed!    The fans have (largely) responded...the eagerness to see 'Ryche tear it up with LaTorre seems far greater in scope.
[guidogodoy] Friday, May 24, 2013 10:24:04 PM
I am with HB in that those minor "sand in the banana hammocks" that are bombing the board today don't hold a candle to those of the past. They would REALLY have to step up their game to get to the reason as to why the "respect points" policy was put in place at all. Alas, what of the often intelligent debates of the "politics" thread of yesteryear? While I chose not to post there, the conversations were certainly at a different level. People could state their views in a literate manner and actually defend them. The Guitar thread. Always a helpful one. Even Kmac1 (before we had to move it to Kmac2 thanks to shitdisturbers) was fun and inviting. The DF/MM/MP thread? Produced TWO albums because of friendships that started here amongst the fans.

Now you almost have to time it as to when Vienna is asleep. I would have LOVED for some of these conversations to have (tried, at least) taken place on Rob's real site => the Q. Attila, et. al. would have pimp-slapped all this nonsense back into the stone-age. Así es la vida.

ps. for those that argue that this is Rob's site? Just look at Wiki. No, it is the BAND'S site! Paragraph 2 for those with short attention-spans.  en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halford_%28band%29

I'll make this my last post on Rock On The Range and don't worry I won't include videos.
There was a lesser known band there called Gemini Syndrome. I had heard of them a couple of months prior
because they were opening for a band that I like. I couldn't attend but I was checking them out on youtube and
thought "they" may be the kind of band I like.
At R.O.T.R. my wife and i managed to get about four rows of people from the stage. I was watching them and thinking they weren't
too bad. During the second song I looked at my wife and she was holding her head and had tears in her eyes. I was like "WTF happened"
and she showed me her hand with blood all over it. I took her to first aid and on the way she said the drummer hit her in the head with a stick.
We got her cleaned up and sanitized and we missed the rest of the band's set. Luckily the cut was minor but she got a nice little knot to go with it.
When I got home I left a message on Gemini Syndrome's facebook page telling them what I just told you guys. Yesterday when I went
on facebook I had a message from them. They sent "our sincerest apologies" and said they were going to send me a package. They ask for my
address and my wife and my shirt sizes. They also told me that if I attend another show to message them and they will put us on their guest list.
They are a lesser known band without much of a following but I thought that was pretty cool of them to offer anything at all.
They made a fan of me just by their actions!

Someone here (probably Jimmy J) posted this band here awhile back.
I thought they were cool, not sure if anyone else does or not but they seem to be the  type of band some here would like.
I wanna say "stoner rock"but I never cared for that term. Kind of "grungy" metal, they remind me of bands like "Red Fang".
They put on a good set, really tight and sound quality was good. I wish I would have gotten them doing "Hush" by ZZ Top.
Anyway, check this out. I'm pretty sure some of you may like this.

Went to "Rock On The Range" this weekend. Around here there is nothing like this festival.
The amount of people over the weekend and the energy level is like nothing I've ever experienced.
I'll post a couple of videos that I like and I'll post a few to highlight the crowd. Even if some of you don't
care for this type of music check out a couple of the videos I post just to see the crazy ass crowd.

@Accolyte...i have a video of "All That Remains" that I made sure to get just for you. I made a mistake though.
We were on the field and the crowd was so crazy I figured I would go up top to get a good crowd shot. That worked
out but I compromised the sound quality. Definitely a top 5 performance of the weekend. I'm going to be paying
more attention to these guys.

@ JD...I wanted to get a "Ghost video for you but I was too close to a group of security. I didnt realize til later they didn't seem to care.
My wife took one of mostly monitor shots with a digital camera. Not great quality but when I get it to youtube i'll post it for you. I have to
say that I've never seen a band like that before. Not bad at times but more symphonic than I really care for. I watched them because of you
and I don't regret it but they are different. One of those so called "devil" bands that come off as "really" being "one of those devil bands'.

This video was one of my highlights. Stone Sour doing "Children Of The Grave". They rocked it. I have a few stories. I'll try to share a few later.
Enjoy!

Very interesting, I believed on a new hard album, but for me are the changes in their music styles very good! I wrote, if every album like the other albums, it would be boring, but they experimented much, this is what I love on Judas Priest. But, I still love the album Nostradamus and I believe on the implementing on stage one day,  the style of this album isn´t death, the album after the hard new album, will be in another style again! The band composes what the fans want to hear, they give feedback, there are also many Nostradamus fans! I love everything about Priest, so I can buy it, without to hear it, the new album will be a surprise for everyone who loves Priest!

Anyway, I think after the production of the new album, all the Judas Priest fans will be satisfied and happy again!

Sounds like their trying to get that "Painkiller Swagger" back.... it's about time. Richie Faulkner bringing some fresh young writing blood and guitar playing to the table. Everything is set up for a killer album. Just what I was talking about over a year ago.

Hey Hellrider, looks like we're getting what we wanted.

ROB HALFORD: Next JUDAS PRIEST Album Will Be 'A Real Hard And Heavy And Tough Record' - May 16, 2013
Justin Tedaldi of Examiner.com recently conducted an interview with JUDAS PRIEST singer Rob Halford and guitarist Richie Faulkner. An excerpt from the chat follows below.

Examiner.com: For the next project, I know you're all working on a new studio album. How's that coming along?

Halford: Fantastic. Really, really good. We've been saying that it's very important for PRIEST to kind of reinforce again a lot of the elements of what we do and what we're about to follow up from [the band's previous album] "Nostradamus". As much as that was a great moment for the band in the concept world, we want to get back to the roots of what we've been about for so many decades and just make one more great heavy metal album, meaning one of many. What we're trying to say is the next one is going to be a real hard and heavy and tough record.

Examiner.com: Are there any completed songs at this point?

Halford: Yeah. We have four tracks that we've got in the can. We're kind of looking at them again to see what else we can do, and the main reason we're saying that is because now we have Richie on board. And Richie's brought this great life, you know, this extra dimension of energy that has really been kind of infectious. We've all grown to love Richie as a player and as a songwriter, so he's added something new, and that's just kind of reenergized some areas that we're about. We've been writing a ton of material; we've got so much stuff in the can. We're tracking at the moment; we're just taking our time. It'll be ready when it's ready as we've been telling everybody, but it's a good message and a good signal to tell all the PRIEST fans that there's a new PRIEST record on the way.

Examiner.com: Will Richie be part of the writing process for the new PRIEST album?

Faulkner: Yeah. I take a recording rig out wherever I go; you never know where inspiration's going to hit you. When we were out on tour I took a little recording rig… sometimes when you're onstage playing, you get a little flash of inspiration when you [need] to scream into your phone or whatever. And the guys would be walking past, they'd hear it, and say, "Aww, that's a great riff, you've got to record that." So when we all got together — we got together for a couple of months last year in 2012, me, Glenn [Tipton] and Rob, and we threw all the ideas that we had in the hat, and we went from there, really. They've been great — you know, they could have just said, "This is the record we want you to play on," but they [said], "You're in the band and we want you to contribute," and they welcomed most of the ideas. It's just been a great creative team from the get-go, really. I've been a part of it and couldn't ask for anything more.

Yeah, I've been reading everything I can about it. Like the epiphany he had while snorting coke while driving down the road and decided to switch to alcohol.
He certainly had some sort of pre-existing liver condition but I am still looking at something that gives concrete info about the spider bite.

The neurotoxin in the venom of some of them can be quite nasty. Letting one go for a matter of hours (much less days) can do major damage. Here, as I said, the Brown Recluse and Black Widow are the most common (with the BR EATING the BW). I've known people who have gone blind in an eye just because of shit luck. One crawling on the ceiling and dropped onto his face in the middle of the night. Yeah, REAL shit luck there.

Sure, Jeff had a pre-existing condition and letting a venomous spider bite go untreated for even hours just screwed him. Very sad no matter how you slice it.

WOW! <==a proper interjection, DF. That is just too sad. Creepy at the same time. Died from a spider bite?! My house is full of brown recluse and I am well-aware of what damage they can do having both read and seen it in person. Not feeling the bite is typical as is necrosis of the surrounding tissue. DEATH, however, is not.

Very sad. RIP Jeff.

Here's a proper review I just wrote lol:

Just got home from a weekend away at the first Black Sabbath concert in New Zealand since 1973.
The opening act was a local band named Shihad who I wasn't too fussed on seen as I have seen them live many times. They played a super short set of half an hour. They left the stage at 8pm and we were all settling in for a wait of maybe 45 minutes before BS came on. However a mere 20 minutes later the house lights dimmed and the sirens started up, and the band started to play their opening song, War Pigs, and the curtain that draped the front of the stage lifted. The people milling about buying merch and drinks etc suddenly came rushing in, I don't think anyone expected them on stage so soon! The whole crowd went mad and started to sing along. Ozzy had plenty of energy (for Ozzy) but we couldn't understand much of what he said LOL! The words I made out were 'fuckin' 'love ya' and 'are you having fun?'. While I really wish Bill Ward had been there, the drummer in his stead - Tommy Clufetos - was INSANELY talented and drummed like a monkey on speed. Tony Iommi was excellent as always, and Geezer Butler was great too.
The setlist was great and included two new songs, God is Dead? and End of the Beginning. Highlights for me were Fairies Wear Boots and Children of the Grave. There wasn't much stuffing about, the music came thick and fast and they played for just under two hours. Setlist:

War Pigs
Into The Void
Under The Sun
Snowblind
Electric Funeral
Black Sabbath
Behind The Wall of Sleep
N.I.B.
End of the Beginning
Fairies Wears Boots
Symptom of the Universe
Drum solo
Iron Man
God Is Dead?
Dirty Women
Children of the Grave

Encore: Paranoid

Been away for a few days cos we headed up to Auckland to watch Black Sabbath! It was their first concert in New Zealand in 40 years, and it was great! Played for just under 2 hours. Opened with War Pigs and the crowd went nuts and sang along. Couldn't understand any of what Ozzy was saying other than 'fuckin' and 'love ya' and 'are you having fun?' LOL! Highlights for me were Faeries Wear Boots and Children of the Grave. They also played two new songs, God is Dead? and another which name escapes me at the mo. The drummer they have on tour, Tommy Clufetos, is insanely talented. Would have preferred Bill Ward but that's bye the bye now. Overall a great gig!

Thanks for the thinking of me. While I did run another 1/2 marathon a couple of weeks ago, it was closer to home. Not ONCE on that run did I ever think a bomb would go off. Who woulda thunk it?! All this time, the "powers that be" have been concentrating on sporting events like football and basketball games but, in retrospect, a marathon is such a soft target that you could have planted something MILES on the course. Impossible to protect when you have so many runners and such long distances.

Sad part was what I said. The people supporting the runners line the sidelines. All the majors have so many police, volunteers and med personnel there that it is almost impossible to leave the course, get onto it or leave a backpack on the road without someone being all over it. True vicitms were those who were NOT running. Haven't seen the news lately but I am sure the bystanders took the full blast(s) serving as insulation for the runners.

Crazy and, again, VERY sad.

The timing of the bombs? Well into the heart of those "common" runners. Even worse as the runners themselves were more insulated. Unfortunately, by the onlookers / family / friends who were cheering them on at the finish!
