Ok, this might just rank up there with the "most metal thing" I have done (not really) but there is a pretty good story that goes along with the pictures. Obviously, the concert was great. VIP was funny as we got there early and, as many know, Guitardude and I had the great luck of getting seats one apart in row two. We said...sorry for the guy between us. Lo and behold, the first guy we meet? The guy between us!! LOL!!! What the hell kinda luck is THAT?! Still feel sorry for that fellow.

Obviously, got a camera into the venue. Called and they told us "no problem" the day of the event but, apparently, they didn't tell the staff as they were really cracking down on cameras. I took 124+ shots but many were blurry because I had to literally "whip it out" (Blazing Saddles, LOL!) and shoot without flash. Damn guys kept moving. At one point, Glenn looked right at me, struck a pose and then mouthed "did you get it?" Sadly, I didn't! Blurry!! Ah well.

Testament I had seen before and wasn't really interested but, as I was there, went down and caught their 30 min set. I liked it, actually. Almost flipped off my chair to catch a drumstick they threw, in fact (more on this subject in a sec). JUST missed it. Ah well. MOTORHEAD was freakin' awesome!! I have also seen them many a time but they were right on. Lemmy plays a bass like no one I have ever seen. Down and dirty rock and roll. Great!

I went out to people watch and met some great people. Some from here, some from the Q. People kinda identified me as a Priest fan and just introduced themselves. I got to hold a Glenn pick that someone caught at a previous concert (thinner than I would have imagined). Saw a poster from someone who entered into the poster competition here. HE should have won, IMO. Heaven and Hell was good but, of course, I am a diehard Priest fan. Caught a Tony I pick, though.

PRIEST was damn awesome. People have described the set better than I. I was just a headbanging fool. Spot on in vocals and, as always, the guitarwork was outstanding.

Ok, now the sad part...as a few of you know, I broke (at least) one rib! LOL!!! Priest fan that I am, I had to get the last shots with my camera at the finale. I stood up on my folding chair to snap a shot over the head of the guy in front of me and WHOOPS, over the back of the chair I went! Wish THAT picture had turned out! Me pointing up at the sky! LOL!!! Hell, those who know ribs know that it is like breaking a toe. Nothing to do but suck it up, eh? Barely hurts when you are dancing on cloud nine!

Moral of the story? I'd do it again in a heartbeat!! (I'd just wear better shoes...haaaaa!!!!!!)
[Painkiller87] Wednesday, August 27, 2008 11:38:54 PM

Alright everyone tommorrow is the big night. Me and my roomates will make the trip to Phoenix to the Metal Masters with the gold VIP passes in our hands! It will most certainly be the most awesome concert ever known to man! Keep on Rockin' everyone!!

Thanks, I look back and see what a bad year that was-it was beyond terrible!

It was just strange finding that note, literally out of the blue.

Still didn't unpack the pots and pans, LOL.  Been watching America's Next Top Model (getting in touch with my girly side)

Moving sucks.

The worst part of moving is going through all your stuff to pack it up or see what you can throw out.  I accumulated at lot of things in a couple years-mostly Nascar collectibles and movies.  And books.  How the hell did i get so many books?v And since when did the dogs get more boxes dedicated to them than I did?  LOL

I found a note from my late friend back when we were in high school-that SUCKED.  I started crying all over again-unpacking her picture was just as bad.  I miss her so much - her mom too-she died 11 months to the day after.  We were sisters-knew each other since we were 4-and our home lives both sucked ass growing up.
I'm pissed (or sad) my friend died so suddnely no one got a chance to say good-bye-she left behind a severely autistic kid who never even knew her-thats how bad the autism is...sigh-im done venting.

Thank God I have concerts and work to go to-get my mind off thinking about this shit.  And I have pots and pans to unpack.

I can't afford to do that. I'm still picking up whatever extra hours I can. As is Lisa. In fact tomorrow she's going in a half hour early to open the store. It'll be her first day running the shift without our store manager there. He'll be in to relieve her around 3 p.m., but then I'll be off to work as soon as she gets home. I'm the closing delivery driver tomorrow night, and Lisa will be asleep by time I get home at 1a.m. I'm not getting any time with her on days like that. It is getting rough. I miss her alot when it happens that way.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Vaillant 3.0 from Wednesday, August 27, 2008 12:17:47 AM)

It was the same thing for me when I first got my job. I usually wouldn't get home until 11:00 P.M. (PST), so I would spend most of the night reading the day's posts. I was missing the Board alot the first few days, since I would be the only one still posting at 12:00 A.M. the next day. Now its not too busy, so I can leave from work earlier than usual.

On a more serious note...I thought I'd actually have more time to come on here to spend with you all, but Megan, housework, and spending what time I can with Lisa, and Jason when I'm not at work, keeps me pretty busy. I do miss everyone alot, and being here this little is an adjustment. For one...I'm always a few hundred posts behind whenever I do get time to check out the posts.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Vaillant 3.0 from Wednesday, August 27, 2008 12:07:51 AM)

Yes, I know all about it. Lisa manages to pump some for me to feed her each day before she leaves. It looks more painful than when Megan is actually feeding. Of course mine would be artificial, and filled with the milk she pumped.   [Show/Hide Quoted Message] (Quoting Message by Vaillant 3.0 from Tuesday, August 26, 2008 11:54:54 PM)

[spapad] Tuesday, August 26, 2008 5:40:15 PM
Thanks for telling me Joe! Wow 3C would be a heat wave for the middle of winter in the Mountains of VA. But thanks to global warming, or whatever it is, we have not had a blizzard in 15 years. When you let the dog out and they jump of the porch and disappear in the snow and you have to rescue them that's some deep snow! The averaged Temp for the entire year is only 68F so those winter temps kill what is usually a very pleasant 80 to 90 F summer.
Like to hear about other places.

Ha ha ha ha ha that must've been so cool to see. Sounds like everybody had a fantastic time.

Spa: It gets pretty cold around now. It's supposed to be heading toward spring but we've got our last snowfall due this week. It gets nowhere near as bad as your part of the globe I'm sure but we get down to about -3C where I am but that is not everynight, that's in the worst of winters. .. more about 5 or 7C but we've been warming up to 17C and we've had a few warm days so far. Inland is a totally different  story. I know it sounds crazy to be getting those temps in Africa but Cape, Boemfontein, Johannesburg etc do get very cold.

I live in the Cape so we have a mediterranean climate here.

But what you don't know is that it is a night prowler, an evil creature out to suck the blood of innocent victims. You too have fallen prey to its cuteness and live mesmerized by those big brown eyes.

Hi Spapad, I'm giving it my best shot. It seems to make the most sense to me and we have routine 'loo walkies' now. My husband had a good laugh last night. he said he was watching us do our outside visit before bed and he could just picture the dog thinking ' Damn, this women is crazy, going for a walk every night before bed in the freezing cold' I am sure that Derek thinks he's doing me this huge favour by going outside with me for some fresh air before bedime (lol).

Hey Joe, cant wait to see the new addition to the family!, minus the poop of course. What worked best for me was walking the pup very often and use the words you use for those functions and just keep asking to pup if they have to do that. When they do if pour on the praise and say yeah way to go you just went _______(fill in blank)! Worked well with Bella, she will actually go almost on command, within two minutes. Just a thought.
Good luck!

Hey Metal Family!! How is everyone? I'm doing fantastic! Up to my eyeballs in Puppy poop however, yep, we did it. Got my son his first puppy. It's been over 4 years since I had a dog so this is so cool. I forgot how much happier I am with a dog in my life (yes, that may sound lame but it's true). I've just been so happy since this little guy came along. He's supposed to be my son's puppy but he's way too attached to me. He even jumped in shower with me today.. cute as a button!

5am workouts?!? DAMN, SAM! That is just about when I go to bed! HAAA!!!

You're right. I did my five mile run tonight. That'll allow me to eat / drink all the crap I want tomorrow! Reward system, man!
[TIMBONI] Tuesday, August 19, 2008 12:13:38 AM
Was able to give up all the junk food and get back into the 5am workouts, but damn that last one is tough.  Especially since my metabolism will still let me get away with it.  Hell, I'm even riding my stupid spinner bike for 30 minutes a day.  Just not ready to give up my very last vice just yet I guess, but I'm still working on it.

Not too much.  Just chillin' with a cold one, watching the Olympics.  Sounds like you had one hell of a day.  Good to hear you survived it.
